TTC, Plus size, and going through the tests!

Hi All, I am completely new to this group, and was referred here for my troubles, and for support!
So I will give a little spill about me.


I am 22, and my DH is 26, I am Plus size(22), he is pretty average size. We have been together for over 5 years, and have never used any type of protection, and I never used any birth control really ever. We have been trying for some time now, and its just never happened. We are now going through the steps of infertility treatment. So far I have done the thyroid, progesterone, and a few other blood tests. All of my tests were normal besides the progesterone! on CD21 my level is .3, we have to get another SA in 2-3 weeks as he had a high fever which they think can affect the results. The doctor we just saw on Valentines said that I MUST lose 30lbs(more than 10% of my weight anyway) before she will even treat me for the ovulation at all! The manager of that department is getting a second opinion from another office! I am feeling very discouraged, as this entire experience has been HORRIBLE!! I feel envious and jealous when I see people getting pregnant left and right, and with their second and third kids!! I am just hoping there is someone out there who can relate, if so, PLEASE post. I am also irregular. I am on CD33. I have to do an HSG test on CD5-10, not bleeding but before day 10. I am VERY nervous about this test, as they make it seem HORRIBLE!! Has anyone done this test before?? Any pointers, or advice, or anything would be GREAT!! Thank you everyone!!

Hi and welcome! I'm 23 and plus-size as well, size 18, my OH is 30 and average weight as well! I've been trying for quite some time with no results. Do you have PCOS or problems ovulating? Have you tried OPKs or charting?

I have no idea if I'm ovulating properly, or WHEN, so I've just ordered some OPKs. My OB suspected I had PCOS but isn't totally convinced due to lack of other symptoms. So if I can figure out when I'm ovulating and try for a few months using that technique, and it still isn't working, then I'll be booking another appointment for fertility testing and possibly a SA though my OH does not have health insurance at the moment. My old tests came back normal, though my OB wanted me to come back for insulin testing to see if I'm resistant or diabetic. Blah! Seems like everything's taking forever.

hello, i am 25 and plus size also size 26, i also tried for my first child for bout 5 month before i got pregnant. i just want to share my story. i didn't know my ovulation date, we just had sex. i didn't even know about opks and those things. i got pregnant naturally, i didn't even see one doctor. what i am saying is, it is difficult to see AF month after month. somehow i don think weight is related, i mean i am bigger than both of you. my husband just stopped drinking coffee and taking hot baths because the reduce the sperm count, then i got pregnant. i wish you both good luck and may you have your wishes soon.
