Hi ladies im new to the TTC forum and wanted some advice or success stories that might make me feel a little more positive about this whole TTC thing :hi:

I was diagnosed with PCOS in 2011. And now I have found the love of my life we would like to have a baby. I often feel disheartened and negative about TTC because of my PCOS and I keep thinking in my head "its never going to happen to me because of my PCOS" I know that's not positive or helpful but I cant seem to help it a the moment.

I do have very regular af on the contraceptive pill which I came off on the 25 of February 2014 and had my af on the 1st March for 5 days. And since this I have had no AF at all, all I had was a bit of brown/pink spotting on and off for 3 days at the beginning of April, does this class as a af/flow? Im currently on cycle day 57!!

We went to the gynaecologist for help and they said to come back in October before they can help me!! Im totally gutted about this, I have TTC on my own before with my pervious OH for 15 months and had almost no af's and couldn't get pregnant. So I know I cant do it on my own, I did have metformin with my pervious partner after 15 months of trying, and I got af ever 29-35days so that was a start, but they wont prescribe me anything until October its cruel!!:cry:

So we are TTC naturally at the moment. Im trying to eat certain foods and im currently taking seven seas trying for a baby pre-natal vitamins and have OH taking wellman conception. I am thinking on looking into herbals such as Angus Castus (Vitex) As I have researched this and have seen good things about it and can help with PCOS. Im just wondering if anyone else as been in the same situation as me and been successful in conceiving?

Sorry to baffle on.... :haha:

What reason did the gyne give for telling you to come back in October? Is he trying to make sure the pill is completely out of your system?
If not I'd be seeking a fertility specialist rather than a gyne.

About a year ago I spoke with a gyne who told me nothing I didn't already know and who wasn't prepared to do anything until Christmas. I then waited for my NHS Fertility appointment in July 13 and started femara to try and regulate me but it didn't really work for me.

However I did conceive my son without any help so their is always hope.

Hey, I'm sorry your struggling with this. I cant believe gynae is making you wait, does he know you tried for 15 months before? Knowing you have pcos and not having regular cycles without birth control should be enough for gynae to do something now.
I have been trying for close to 3 years now, my last cycle started feb 4 and i took clomid for the first time that cycle. CDs 2-6 50mg and was shocked to find out I was finally expecting. Such an amazing feeling I never knew I could feel, and only to have it torn from me at 6w2ds when I miscarried.
My cycles usually range from 90-120+ days.
I am sure I ovulated a couple days ago as I have very tender breast, so im expecting my period soon. Which is exciting because that means I am having a normal cycle for the first time in my life. :)
I changed my diet after I lost my angel. I looked at the paleo diet because I have heard great reviews on how it is eliminating their pcos symtpoms. I havnt gone 100% yet...just doing two big meals and all snacks paleo, leaving me with one main meal non paleo...just trying to get used to paleo before going all in with it. I think this is what has helped me have a normal cycle this month, which makes me want to go 100% paleo.
I think you should take a look at paleo and see if this is something you can do...and remember you can start out with having one meal a day paleo and the rest non paleo, do this for a week and then the following week have two main meals paleo and the rest non paleo, the week after that make 2 main meals paleo and all snacks paleo leaving you with one main meal non paleo.

I tried vitex, its something you need to take for months before seeing results, so I wasnt able to stick with it. I'm not saying it didnt work, I just didnt have the patient for it and was contently trying to find that miracle pill that would work imediatly ( which doesnt exist )

If you can get into a new gynae then I would suggest that, if a fertility specialist is not in your area. I wish you lots of luck and baby dust!

Hi ladies

Im thinking about getting a second option, I don't know what to next, all I know is it gets me down

Kiwi love, sooooo sorry to hear about your loss :(
On a good note, you're able to become preggo so I'm sure it'll happen for u again soon. I have pcos too, one large cyst n many little ones and a small fibroid (it's a mess in there) and did I mention just one ovary? Smh. Gyno said he'll put me on Seophene (clomiphene citrate) once I get my chicken pox vaccine. I'm praying this works.

Baby dust, patience, strength & best wishes to my fellow PCOS ladies!!!

I know how you feel to some extent. I have PCOS and no periods at all without some form of meds. I also don't ovulate. I saw a specialist who told me to go back to them when I'm 30 and have lost some weight! I'm 23 and not that overweight I don't think...I was so mad, but I changed drs and am hoping for a more positive experience with him. Definitely ask for another opinion, it isn't fair for them to make you wait any more than you already have.

Hey guys, sorry you got diagnosed! I too have PCOS. I've never had trouble with not ovulating but I have heard great things about Inositol (a form of B vitamin). You can read more about it here:

https://www.pcosdietsupport.com/supplements/inositol-and-pcos/

I really like this blog a lot so navigate around it. She talks about how one of the first things pcosers should do is get rid of dairy products.

I personally have been taking Inositol, Vitamin D, and Omega 3's. I just started last month so I'm hoping I get a BFP in the next couple of months! :)

SarahLou,

I'm also surprised that since your PCOS diagnosis is not new, and that you've tried before that they are not prescribing you anything. I would probably go ahead with a second opinion... It couldn't hurt. I was recently diagnosed with PCOS (TTC for 6 months) and was discouraged when my doc didn't want to prescribe metformin. I followed the link lsd2721 posted about inositol and did some research of my own. It does look promising. Maybe you can give that a try? I'm going to give it a try and see what happens. Keep us posted!
