TTCing with Endometriosis

bumping since I posted this kinda late last night

Hi there! I don't have endo (I do have fibroids) but I know you're not alone.

One of my coworkers has endo and had her first baby last year. He's beautiful and just turned one.

An old college acquaintance is now pregnant with her second child.

I'm sure there are other people with endo on the forum who will say hi and chime in with their stories. In the mean time, good luck with your journey! :)

Thanks. It's just so hard to talk about conceiving when I have friends getting pregnant without trying. One even got pregnant while having Mirena!

I understand completely. My closest friends are all having kids, and I love them to death but it hurts sometimes because I want one of my own. I just try to remind myself to enjoy sleeping late for as long as I can. :)

We've been trying for about 7 months now, and I obsessively google information about getting pregnant and having fibroids.

How long have you been trying? How are things going?

Oh I know. I love on my friends' kids all the time but sometimes enjoy being able to hand them back and go about my way.
I don't get to sleep late thanks to my 3 dogs lol. They wake me up at least twice a night to go out but I keep telling my husband that means we won't be so out of wack when we do have a kid.

Oh I have exhausted about 100 sites through countless google/bing searches.

We have been TTCing since July 2014 so this is our 8th month. It's the first month we have started using Clomid. I normally have every side effect possible for any medication I took but I had zero symptoms while taking the Clomid so I'm not sure if that means it wasn't working or if that means maybe it's the only medication my body actually is ok with lol.

I go tomorrow for a follicular ultrasound where they'll try to look and see if the follicles are mature enough. If so they'll give me a shot to induce ovulation and "send us home for sex:

Aww, your dogs sound sweet. We have two cats. They get rowdy in the middle of the night; it used to wake me up but now I sleep through it.

We started TTC in May, but took a few months off because I switched jobs and you have to be employed at a place for a full year before you're qualified for FMLA leave.

This month is actually our 8th, as well, so it sounds like we are on a similar schedule.

That's great that you're not having uncomfortable side effects with Clomid. Does this mean you've already gone through fertility testing? How did that process go?

I've got an ultrasound (3rd in the last 12 months!) on Wednesday to see if my fibroids have changed at all, and then a follow up appointment next week to discuss the results and fertility options. I'm not sure what to expert but it feels good to feel like I'm doing something.

Good luck tomorrow - I hope your follicles are mature enough! Let us know how it goes.

Our pups are sweet. Our "old man" who is usually the one that needs to go out is out 15yr old shih tzu. Then we have a 3 yr old shih tzu and a 3 yr old Australian shepherd. They go back to bed quick once you let them out, it's just rough if I was deep in sleep because I always get that groggy feeling since I didn't get to finish my sleep cycle.

I haven't even looked into maternity leave with my job.... I guess I should look into that lol but I work seasonally for a theme park so I won't worry too much about it until I go full or part time there in the fall.

We went through some fertility testing. We had the swimmer tested and did blood work for me, that's it. I also have a hypothyroid which can cause problems when trying to conceive so they checked it to make sure my thyroid meds are keeping me within normal range. The process of the testing we did was easy for me. I am so used to having blood drawn it was like any other day. For hubby, it was awkward for him to show up to give a sample because he did it at the local hospital and they handed him a cup and told him where the public bathroom was. lol it was just so uncomfortable for him but in the end we got the results by the end of the week and everything was good.

I COMPLETELY know what you mean about finally feeling like you're doing something. I hope your fibroids have gotten smaller/aren't obstructing anything! FX

Thanks. I am nervous since last night I was having cramps and I'm worrying I already ovulated and this month will kinda be a loss.. but I'll know in just a few short hours

I hope you didn't miss it! Fingers crossed for you!

Thanks Lemon!

Didn't miss it. Had 1 good follicle measuring 2cm. The crappy thing is the DR could only find one ovary during the ultrasound :( but I was given the shot to ovulate and the cramps have been here since about an hr after so I know it's happening tonight lol. We've already :sex: today, we were told to do it again thurs and sat

Woohoo, congrats!

It's great that your ovary that wasn't being shy had the follicle. Good luck with this cycle!

Did the doctor say anything about why the tech couldn't locate the other one?

well the Dr did the actual ultrasound and not a tech so that was nice. there was actually zero talk about why the other ovary was being illusive

Thank you very much. I was shocked how ok I was with it. Normally during paps and when I had Mirena put in back in 2013... anything put inside me is painful. I thought for sure I was going to be in pain from the ultrasound wand but thankfully no.

Guess I start my TWW tomorrow.

Anyone else TTCing with endometriosis?

In the past year I have tried everything to get pregnant, except another surgery, clomid and other Western options. I went to two different acupuncturists, changed my diet, started doing yoga and tried to deal head on with any stresses in my life and tried to deal with the Endo in the meantime. I gave up a lot, but would get back on the horse one more time. In May, I was off of Vicodin to deal with the pain and following every steps on The Getting Pregnant Plan . To my amazement it helped to at least take the edge off of the pain enough (at least enough on day two of my period) to function. I lost 15 lbs. and have been feeling really good except for the whole not getting pregnant thing. It is such an amazingly painful experience. But I do want to give all of you some HOPE. I am now PREGNANT!!! I still can't believe it. I was sooooooo sure I was getting my period because I had a TON of pain. This past month has also been totally crazy.

Congrats!

Mind if I join in on this topic? I'm not sure if I have endo but I do have a strong family history of endo and have some symptoms of it so any advice is greatly appreciated. :)

Absolutely! Welcome.

What kind of symptoms do you have?

Fingers crossed to both of you. I've been trying for about a year and very rarely would get an ovulation sign.

But for the first time 6 months I'm ovulating! fingers crossed. Baby dust you way :)
