Turning 31, TTC #1- would love a TTC buddy!

Ladies quick question... I'm supposed to ovulate this weekend, however today at cycle day 9 I have this odd twinge in my right ovary. Has anyone every had ovulation pain before ovulation?

Hi Zoe, I took an opk this month and got a positive that evening. We bd and a couple hours later I felt that and I'm convinced that I ovulated that day rather than the 29th which my app thought. I would bd today just to be sure that you catch it!

Zoe! Bd! Now! Hehe - hoping you don't misss it. But then I felt that pinch today and my Opk still showed positive?? But still, just don't miss it!

Well we didn't get to BD last night :( But I'm still feeling little pinches today so hopefully I'm still in the game. I've just never ovulated this early before, so I wasn't sure if that was it or not.

In other news I had my yearly checkup today and they did some labs to check hormones and thyroid to make sure everything is in check. Hopefully everything comes back normal. How is everyone else doing today :)

Zoe - hope everything comes back normal! I'm sure it will! Hopefully you are still in! Just keep bd-ing jic! ☺

Afm, I took a digital test today and it said "pregnant" so I officially believe now! Lol I have my first appointment on Feb 6th. I am about 4 weeks this week! So scary waiting and hoping everything is okay! I'm sure all first timers feel this way, right?

Hope everyone is doing well! Where is everyone else at this month? Anyone in the tww?

JLG: it felt surreal for a very long time for me.

I'm doing good. I'm a little tired today. It's a gloomy day. I am off today and got groceries, cooked, and cleaned the kitchen.... now, I'm debating a nap before I hit the gym. All in all- good day!!

Jlpg - I'm truly pleased for you! I'm sure what you are feeling is totally normal. How are you feeling?

Zoe - you just reminded me to make a doc appt for that - thanks!

Thejoie - have you had to change your work out since becoming pregnant? How are you gym-ing?

JLG, I agree with Joie, it still feels surreal. Like nothing is going on in there.

zoe - Keep on BD'ing!

JoJazie - I am able to continue with my gym routine as well as I know Joie is too. I mainly spin, but have noticed recently that I am unable to keep up with the instructor. Usually, I am in the front row. So has been a little frustrating. I also have incorporated walking into my routine. SO weekends the DH and I take our Fur baby on long walks around the beach and to the pier.

I used to run 5-6 days a week and do core/weights about 3-4 days. Typically I'd do about 6 miles. Now I'm at about 4-5 miles 4-5 times a week though last week I've been able to hit 6 miles a few times. I've been doing weights and core 3 days a week. There was a 2 week period where it was a struggle to get here but now my desire and will had been back for about 2 weeks. I feel good with my workouts. I've modified my core workouts this week. It's been better than I thought- though I will say- Laziness perpetuates laziness in me. When I don't workout I feel more tired and less like doing anything. So it's so important to me to keep going!! I feel better!!

I was just wondering about my spin and if I could keep that. We are about to buy a bike for the house so I can keep it going on my schedule. I also love pilates so going to look into that too! I haven't been able to workout in over a month bc I hurt my back so bad. But finally feeling better and the doc said maybe next week I can get back slowly to my workout routine. FX!

Jojazie - I really haven't felt that different. I have been having some slight cramping pulling tugging feelings in my stomach. But today was the first day that I felt different. Just uncomfortable and more tired than usual. But all in all feeling good! I've read that most symptoms start around the 6 week mark so couple weeks to go!

Zoe- I made an appt with a midwife for a pre-conception appt. she used to be a gp but has now gone and done research, seminars etc and has some great info stored in her head so I can ask her anything and she'll know the stars. She's a natural fertility specialist too. I google-stalked her today and she sounded lovely. Appt tomorrow with Dh.

Thejoie and TTC, is there any risk in pushing your body hard when pregnant? (Cramps, sprains, torn ligaments that are harder to heal) Or is it actually better for you to continue to exercise when pregnant? I don't mean it to sound judgemental in the text, I'm just really curious?? Do you have to be extra cautious?

Jlpg - well I hope your symptoms aren't too bad. Glad your back is starting to feel better. Must have been a hard fall. :hugs:

Awesome girl! Let us know how everything goes :) we live in such a small town so my midwife/ ob options are limited :(

JLG: 6 weeks is right when I noticed I was actually pregnant... I had a rough two weeks and then it started getting better and better. I'm 12 weeks today and feel so great. Food aversions are still there but tolerable. Energy is good. My boobs are huge but that's a welcome change hahaha!!! 12 weeks... holy cow... I'm actually meeting my OB today.

JoJazie: the key is to listen to your body and not over do it. You can't go from doing nothing to an intense workout regimen but maintaining your fitness level if you've been active there's nothing wrong with keeping it up as long as you have the energy for it. Your joint do become more limber in pregnancy which can increase your risk for injury but being sensible is key! Good luck with your appointment

Anyone here on FB? I was thinking of making this group on there for convenience sake. Anyone interested? It's easier to post photos which will be fun the farther along we get

Yeah that sounds great!

Doc went soooo good! It was my first time meeting him and he was sooooo nice and had great bedside manner. I loved him! My friend uses his practice and loves him and his partner so I am thrilled!! Very happy with my decision! Also- found out my insurance will cover my pregnancy 100% so that's great news!! Nice lil relief- especially with buying a house in a few months...

I work this weekend and am sooooo not excited about it. I fell asleep on the couch at like 830 last night haha... I'm preparing for a crappy weekend

Hiyas, if I join in Facebook, my mum will be ON TO IT that I'm talking to people about kids. I just can't risk it as there is a LOT of pressure here. I'm actually the oldest daughter of 7 kids including cousins, and I don't have any kids and have not shown any outward interest about TTC. together for 15yrs, career, house, but not kids. But if you make something super private on Facebook, I'll look it up. Can you not name it anything kid related? Coz I do think that's actually a great idea.

So I went to the doc. Actually she is an ... academic I think is the best way to describe her role? She is a fertility specialist, who currently writes research, conducts seminars, is highly regarded in the field, has a PhD in natural fertility, trains medical practitioners, the list goes on. She used to be a midwife, and also worked as a GP (medical practitioner) herself. I'm in looooove with her knowledge and passion for it. She was able to clear up myths (that I read here on the forum!), answered all my questions with relevant research, and was just plain lovely! She showed me a new way to chart, which is faaaaaaar more accurate than ANY app or Opk, and how to time intercourse. She also told me that it's encouraged to do exercise whilst pregnant (hanks girls for opening up that question), explained conception in a way that I've never read anywhere and just...is...amazing. Private message me for her details. She does Skype lessons if you need - on using the natural method for both conception, and also contraception. She shared some interesting info on CP's and OPk. I'm seeing her monthly to best understand my cycles, what to look for, how to know if stress is impacting on my cycle, etc etc etc. although I went in there thinking it was for a blood test and general discussion, I came out feeling empowered. I totally recommend her. And I'm on my first cycle TTC!
