Hello

I am trying to figure out what I need 2 of.
My friend who had twins said I will need 2 of the following:

- 2 cribs
- 2 bouncy seats
- 2 exercisers
- 2 high chairs
- 2 car seats/univeral stroller

Is there anything else that i will need 2 of when my twins are infants?
Walkers are for after 6 months old.
Anything I'm missin? :baby::baby:

I would say no to 2 exersaucers. They take up TONS of space. I found that I just rotated them into it. But, everything else I agree with. I also have 2 bumbos. Started with 1 and promptly figured out that I needed 2. I used them to feed the girls from 6-8 months of so instead of the high chairs. It was just a bit easier.

My other must have are the kiddopotamus swaddlers! I LOVED THEM! My girls slept so much better swaddled and these are hard to bust out of. My girls were swaddled until 6 months and torso swaddled through 9 months.

Other must haves would be a twin breastfeeding pillow if you plan to breastfeed. Also, a stroller that your car seats will snap into so you can actually get out and about and not worry about waking up sleeping babies to put them into the stroller.

Ok cool Thanks
Sorry but don't know what a bumbo and kiddopotamus swaddlers are. hahah
Yes already have the snap and go car seat/stroller thingy.

Not many people did this but I was one of them.. I had an electric Tommee Tippee steriliser and I had a microwave Tommee Tippee steriliser. Chloe and Jaycee were bottle fed from 2 weeks old as the stress of moving hospitals and everything stopped my milk supply and I found that when I got them home the one steriliser was on 3 times a day so I purchased the microwave one and split the bottles and dummies into each and I managed to get it all done just once a day!
You obviously need two car seats and a double buggy.. Personally I wouldnt waste money on moses baskets/cribs just a cot. Chloe and Jaycee were swaddled and went straight into cots.

DITTO above - get loads of bottles (I have 21) if you are going that way - at first I was washing teats at 2am ffs - madness!!!!

Bumbos we never used and moses baskets went on ebay never used either. We have highchairs but not got that far yet - they have toddler rockers which i feed them in as they are still a bit too wobbly for highchairs and steadying two is near impossible AND feeding at the same time.

I personally would get millions of vests and sleepsuits if you arent having much help at home as washing everyday will really be the last thing you want to do - I know not technically your question but thought I would add.

Great point Vicky..! We had enough bottles so we only had to do 1 mass-wash every day. I hated having them pile up in the sink but with twins - there just isn't time to enjoy (yeah, right!) washing the bottles after every feed.

We do have 2 exersaucers. At 6.5 months now, they really need to be entertained and aren't content rolling around on the floor or under the play yards for very long anymore.

We use the bumbo seats at night, for story time. (Try holding twins AND a book -- impossible!).

Hello
Great thanks all

Can someone send me a link as to what a cot is??

Thanks Vicky
Oh ok, a little crib.
Not sure the name of these, so not sure how to find them ahah

I think what I call a crib is what they call cots across the pond... Just a regular, standard old crib. Right guys?

yeah that is what i was thinking too!
but maybe its alot smaller than a big crib?

If its the same size, then a cot is a regular crib? Right?

Yep cots are cribs xP doesnt matter what size its always a cot to us in uk and to you over there its always a crib ;p
Thanks for making this topic btw i found it really helpful!,x

OHhhhhhhhhh ok thank you so much all!
I was getting confused too when people said cot!
So now cot & crib are same thing!

I have the same cots as above, obviously popular twin choice!

I've ordered cot beds, they should last them until they are 4/5 years old! I thought for twins it would work out more cost effective!! Plus they were really cute looking :)

I have found that I have only used one of the bouncy chairs and one swing. I purchased one excersaucer/jumpy thing to use and two Bumbo's, one play mat (they both fit under the one I got) and two Boppy pillows (life savers for me). I clean bottles twice a day, morning and night - (but quick rinse them out and keep them in a big bowl in the sink after each feed until I get around to cleaning them). I have 14 small bottles and the Tommee Tippee Electric Sterilizer (holds 6 at a time to clean).

I use the Tommee Tippee bottle warmer too because it doesn't "automatically" shut off like some of the other ones on the market. The ones that auto shutoff you can't use to warm a second bottle for like 10 minutes until it cools down, which you don't want to do if you have to warm TWO bottles!! For the girls bottles, I warm the first bottle for like 3 to 3:30 (they are at 4 ounces now) and and the second I take off about 30-45 seconds (since the water is already warmed up) and then I turn the thing off (by unplugging it).

During the day at home, they stay in mostly onsies and socks (but it is warm here). In the winter they will wear the one piece sleepers with attached feet.

I TOTALLY agree with the swaddling blankets...whatever kind you get. We use the Kiddopotomas ones (also called SwaddleMe) and I also have a couple of Woombies (easy to use zip up swaddlers) but they are more expensive. The girls sleep SOOOO much longer when swaddled!!
Another must have is a good thermometer. I don't know how many times I have used this thing, but I have used it a lot to make sure they are ok!! Helps ME feel better at least!! And, I will say get some Mylicon (gas drops) for when they are fussy. It's all natural and helps the gas go away in their tummies.
