When I had my daughter (who is now 6) it was sorted at the 20 week appointment time, does it still work this way?

around 37 weeks both times :) im diabetic though and my son (2nd child) ended up being a vaginal birth :)

You didnt find out the date til 37 weeks? I hole they dont say this to me, I need to make arrangements for my other children :-/

I got my date at 34 weeks x

I get my date on Tuesday and I will be 35+4.
Thus is my 4th baby delivered by section, but should be interesting to see what date they give me. My others have been 38weeks, they have since changed policy to 39 weeks in most trusts.

28 weeks for mono/di twins scheduled for 36 wks. They rarely let them go beyond 36 weeks here due to fear of placenta failure.

I told midwife/consultant I wanted a c section at 36+4, they agreed gave me the date of section there and then - possibly because I'd left it rather late really lol xx

I got mine at 34 weeks scheduled for 38+1. I had a placenta previa and they said that they would keep scanning up until then incase of change though and obviously there wasn't any and I had no more bleeding so section went ahead as planned.

With my son 3 days before and my daughter 4 days before :/ hope I get to know more in advance this time lol

Hi
My 1st section - labour, baby distressed - EMCS - baby born very poorly, lucky to be here.
My 2nd section - date @ 36 weeks late decision. 9 yrs ago - section @ 39 weeks
My 3rd section - date @ 20 weeks - 7 years ago - section @ 39 weeks
My 4th section - date @ 36 weeks - 5 years ago - section @ 39 weeks
My 5th section - date at 36 weeks - 2 years ago - section @ 39 weeks

Already been told I won't be given a date until approx 36 weeks for baby 6, due in May. Section will be done at 39 weeks.

I asked several times during pregnacny 4 and 5 for a date so I could organise my other children but the consultant refused point blank to arrange one. Only gutted I have the same consultant again. Though I have asked to be treated by someone else who I feel more comfortable around. Several times I have been told section dates are usually arranged for 39 weeks here in the UK (Well at the hospital I am will be at) unless it is neccessary to deliver baby sooner. That is the best I can offer - not much help I know.

Iv still not seen the consultant, im thinking of moving hospitals to be honest. I didn't want to be at the one im with in the first place. But only just found out I can have baby where ever I want, from a pregnant work mate.

You would think my midwife would of told me this, she is a complete waste of time!

I really need to organise child care asap, else they will have to look after them while im in having the section. lol.

Plus MIL wants to fly over from Ireland to meet baby, so she is nagging for dates too.

ive been told the date will be set at my 35 week consultant appointment

Is it booked at the hospital or with your midwife usually? Thanks

With the hospital, community midwife has nothing to do with it.

I'm in Canada, but just got my section date last week at my 12 week appt. in past pregnancies I had it around 28 weeks. It's very early notice this time, which is fun! I'm booked in for 38.5 weeks but that may change to a few days earlier.

I was given my date at my 1st Consultant Appointment. I was 14 weeks and i'm booked in for 39 weeks xx

Yes, you can choose to have baby wherever you like.

How far pregnant are you? I ssen consultant at 16 weeks. Told section will be at 39 weeks, but date will be given at 36 weeks. Due 21st May so section around the 14th.

It is difficult when you have other children to find child care for. For all mine, MIL looked after them while my parnter was with me. She really is useless though so not looking forward to having her look after them again. My own mother ain't interested, nor are my sisters. My brothers all live overseas so apart from MIL i have no one else to ask. She never even thinks to change the youngest ones nappy or offer food/drink regularly. I am already giving my to be 10 year old lessons in what to do. She is a great help. So much better than my 16 year old Son. He lives for computer games and football so has no interested in helping out. I understand how you feel as I too like to be organised. How many sections have you had?

Im 21 weeks, and iv had 2 previous sections.

Iv not even seen a consultant yet, which is odd as im consultant led. But I really hate the hospital im with, I dont trust them at all.

My mom will have the kids till hubby comes home to look after them, but as my parents both work, they need to book the time off. When I actually get to see a consultant il be nagging

That is strange. Did you not see one after 20 week scan? Is the hospital same as beofre. Down here where I am you see consultant at 20 weeks particularly when you have previous sections. You know what they are like 3rd section......you are high risk. I would request to see a consultant asap. If the midwife won't arrange it, get your GP to. My MIL also has to book time of work and stay with youngest while my partner visited the hospital. No children allow in morning visiting session. Well thats what is was like two years ago so not sure if the policy has changed.

I hope you get seen to soon. At five weeks pregnant I seen a consultant because this will be my 6th section. I seen another at 16 weeks, they want mt to go back again, Christmas Eve.......told them I don't think so as I have an appointment with the same guy the week after. They give you a an appointment time and two hours later you are still waiting. He takes one look at my massive file and puts it back down until everyone else has been seen. Probably because he can't be bothered to read it. So I have asked for a new consultant, they said they will see what they can do. He is so ignorant it is unbelievable. He told me last time, it was usual for white women to have so many sections. It is more common in the developing world. Haven't liked him since then.....cheeky git.

Anyway, hope you can make arrangements soon. Have a good Christmas, bet your little ones are very excited.

Take care xx
