Hi there,

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR READING!! So Idk where else to turn for advice and support. Seems maybe someone on here can share their story if similar, and advise me on what to do. Unsure if this thread applies too..PLEASE :hugs:

I currently have a 2 1/2 yr old daughter and my husband and I would love to try for baby number 2. After I gave birth to my first born (NATURAL BIRTH), I was told by to wear a girdle for awhile to help suck me back in, but as I recall the very next day after childbirth, I felt like a train wreck..literally like S#!@, my stomach felt very tender to the touch and loose skin too ..the last thing I wanted to do was wear something tight. I never thought it would help prevent complications for the near future. I've always been very sensitive with my stomach, so Idk if I always had this hernia, but I didn't even know I had one until I got it checked out. The Dr. assured me its an umbilical hernia. He said, "if it isn't causing you any pain, go ahead and have all the children you want. But if it is causing you pain, then get it fixed, but just so you know..if you do ever become pregnant again, the mesh I'm going to put there, will eventually burst, leaving you with possibly an even bigger hernia. LIKE OMG...Idk what to do!!! Especially because recently its been hurting very bad, but I also think its cause I eat certain foods that bloat me and aggravate the hernia. If this is it for us with children I'll be devasted :cry::cry: Hubby has been very supportive and understanding, but I know he wants another child too. PLEASE....ANYONE HAVE ANY SIMILAR STORIES TO SHARE????? I keep thinking, I can't be the only one with an umbilical hernia after childbirth ..what is a woman to do in my case?!

Hiya lovely

I have exactly the same issue and I've decided to have it fixed even though we plan on another child in a few years. From what I've read there's a risk of it getting worse from leaving it even before a pregnancy so there doesn't seem to be much to lose. I'm booked in for December so I'll let you know how it goes

OMG...thank you so much for sharing your story! I had the paramedics at my house earlier today...it became that painful . Hubby has been taking care of everything around the house for me, Idk what I'm going to do about going to work tomorrow, hopefully I'm feeling better. The only relief I get is when I lay down, where I actually see it lower back inside. Its all so very frighting. Its like a horrible cramp that comes and goes..don't know if thats how you've experienced it too. But omg..i'm so sorry you're going through this too and I wish you all the luck in the world and a speedy recovery after the surgery. Has the procedure been explained to you? Wondering what the recovery will be like?? I'm so desperate..I'm thinking of calling out of work tomorrow and dropping by the dr's and see if he could fix me up tomorrow on the spot. I'm REALLY REALLY SCARED RIGHT NOW.
