I know hospitals and Drs offices can be busy and hectic, however, this Drs office seems to be very inconsiderate of my time and somewhat uncaring. I had an appointment last week for 1:30 pm, I arrived at 1:15 and waited until 2:15 to get up and remind them that I was there! I then waited an additional 15 minutes only to be told that I would have to see a midwife (I was there to see the Drs only)

I saw the midwife again yesterday and she's older, very old school (isn't my preference) and was kind of in a rush and got irritated with every question I had, so I requested once again to only be scheduled with the Drs from now on.

Afterwards I went over to the hospital to get checked because the baby's movements decreased but she was fine. The L&D part of the hospital was filthy! The gown one of the nurses gave me Stunk. The front desk where I had to sign in, they were eating food that had the worst smell to it and the desk was cluttered and gross. The women behind the desk were ghetto and loud talking about someone's mother or something non work related and spoke broken English. Hate to be judge mental but it says a lot about the professionalism of the hospital when you hire folks who talk using slang and broken English. It was just not at all what I'm use to. This is a city hospital and I'm use to the county. But I can't use the hospital I would normally use because it's too far.

I'm 29 weeks along now and I'm wondering if it's too late to try to go through an interview process/find another OB...? I don't want to feel rushed looking for another OB and then end up in the same situation

So stressful

Oh my. So sorry you're having such a terrible experience! I would definitely try to find somewhere else quick! Doesn't sound like a place I'd want to have my baby. And you should feel comfortable with your doctor, and feel assured he or she will care for you and your little one.

Hope you can get it worked out :hugs:

Id deff find someone/somewhere else! The last thing you need while in labour is to feel uncomfortable with the care your getting and the state of the place xxx

Yep I agree to find another dr. I was not happy when my OB made me wait hours for an appt and then rushed me out the door. My DS's birth experience was not good either and I wished that I had of listened to my instincts and found somewhere else to deliver.

I just changed doctors and I'm really happy I did. I was seeing a team of three doctors, but always ended up seeing the one who had lots of free space on her schedule. There was a reason she was free, she was very disinterested and vague and said some things that rubbed me the wrong way. Changing was the right move for me, I'd try to change if you can!

I changed OB's and hospitals at 16 weeks. My first office had 3 Dr's and they made me feel like I was just a number. The waiting room was always packed full, and I never felt like they cared. My new group has 7 OB's plus Physician Assistants and mid wives. I feel like I am listened to now. The offices are very clean, and they have many affiliated hospitals. I was experiencing high blood pressure at my appointments at the other office, and now my BP is in a normal range, and I feel much more relaxed. I had a day I wasn't feeling very well and the number they gave me to call I was able to speak to a Dr within 3 minutes...a Dr...not some nurse hours later like the old office. My choosing to switch was the best thing for me. I hope that you are able to find somewhere that works better for you.
