Hi girls,

I'm very sorry I do not come in here that often as I find that sometimes I don't even want to think about TTC anymore. Apologizes for that.

I just wonder whether any of you are in a similar situation. I've had 2 very early m/c 2 years ago. Since then we were not able to conceive. After a year of nothing we started all the tests and seeing specialist. Last month i underwent lap and dye test. Yesterday I had a follow-up appointment where we were told I'm in perfect health and there's nothing wrong either with me or my husband. The doctor wasn't at all concerned. Although she mentioned this is: unexplained infertility, she was positive this is due to a stress and I will conceive naturally as soon as I become more relaxed. She didn't prescribe any chlomid as my periods are very regular and everytime I've been tested I ovulated. Basically, we were just sent home and told to have regular sex between day 7-20. I am to come back in 3 months time if nothing happens and then "maybe" they'll consider chlomid, but it is very unlikely. Apparently I'm still "young" (33) and I wouldn't be eligible for IVF and she also thinks I'll never need it.

In a way, this is very positive and comforting to know we are so healthy, but It's also quite a shock that after all that investigation we are exactly where we've been 2 years ago and we won't get any help.

Here is to lots of BD and Christmas BFPs for this section!!!!

Its tough getting classed as unexplained. I got put into this catagory aswell and they wouldnt prescribe me clomid either.
They were a little more helpful and offered IUI instead which im pleased to say did work for us.

Oh Hopeful I am so sorry that you didn't get the clomid Hun  but it is good news that you don't have any medical issues preventing you getting pg.

I am in a similar situation to you, (although have never had a mc and me and DH already have a 17 year old son between us) in that all our test are coming back as 'normal' too. We see the consultant for the official results, but I am convinced he will just tell us to keep trying for another 3 months, and send us on our way again.

The thing that worries me is that we will both be 37 next year (DH in March, and me in May) and I am concerned that time is running out

Hope you get your BFP soon Hun xxxx

Arcanegirl - I guess because I got pregnant before they don't consider IUI neccessary. In some way, I'm glad they are that confident that I don't need a chlomid. Although I'd still need a pill called: "get stress free".
Mazmos - As a great inspiration and I tell myself that everyday. My sil is 1st time pregnant and will be 38 when the baby's born. It can be done!! I know they've been trying for some time too. Seeing my consultant yesterday, sounds like we both still have plenty of time, believe it or not!!

I would get a diff DR. I was classified as "unexplained" as well, I am also 33, and I have had three m/c. I get regular AF and also ovulate consistenly on my own. I was prescribed Clomid, and apparently (my OB told me this when he prescribed me it) Clomid is always the first drug they give to "unexplained". I think you need another DR. Are you seeing a specialist, or just a GP?

Clomid is used to make you ovulate. So, if you are ovulating, then it would be pointless to take Clomid.....

Actually, that is not true. Clomid makes you ovulate, yes, but it also makes a stronger corpus luteum, and a better egg. Not pointless at all.

I would say too that I would think about seeing someone else because I can understand them not offering clomid but I don't understand why not offer IUI and why you would not be elgible for IVF. Good luck with the de-stressing!

I have actually been told to come back in 3 months time. I understand they really are trying to put off chlomid as long as they can. We'll see. We'll try push for something, IUI maybe as I can see it actually helped lots of people. I just wondered how many more of you there are like me, when everything is absolutely fine, but still not pregnant. It just doesn't make sense!
