unexplained infertility...

I was unexplained infertility. I was told my ovaries were not communicating with my brain so much research, so many natural remedies, long 60 day cycles, lots of tears. IVF and IUI wasnt something that was a choice for me as I just cleansed my body for 2 long years to get rid of allergies, and illnesses. There was just something going on I felt that was hidden. I went to a naturopath she did testing and concluded I had candida imbalance. Immeaditly I took out all the sugar out of my diet and processed foods. Just meats, veggies and eventually fresh fruit. I didnt feel I was overweight I went from 137 to 116. I also took candida cleansing herbs. Then I read something about melatonin and about 3-5 days before ovulating I started taking it. I had different ovulation pains and I still ovulated on Day 48. There is hope. There maybe something in your body that regular doctors dont see, such as candida imbalance.

Congrats!!! I agree with you that its something Doctors miss and tbh my doctor took a few blood tests, did and HSG and did an SA on hubby and because we already have 2 kids they said it was unexplained and on to IVF because I was slow getting pregnant with those two. However it was not taken into account that I already have to take B12 by injection and I had kidney issues as a teen that was secondary to a blood disorder from an autoimmune problem and I have a few small issues that have carried through from that. Nothing serious just I tend to catch more colds and get infections quicker then most but I'm healthy otherwise. I just think if I don't absorb B12 then maybe my other vitamins are off balance.
Sometimes unexplained is the easy diagnosis while we're left to ponder what's wrong and how on earth do we begin to fix it? I think its fantastic you got pregnant and it gives hope to us ladies that are still waiting :) I hope you have a wonderful H&H 9 months!!!!

Thank you. I posted something to your B12 issue.. I also have another child from a previous marriage and DH has 2 daughters believe me I totally know what you mean. Have you tried also changing your diet? I went sugar free and was already gluten free.. You should look into celiac.. Boost your immune system too.

Crystal, don't apologise, we feel your pain.

We're unexplained too. Have been ttc 18 months. Never missed a cycle or fertile time. Had all tests. DH has good swimmers. I've got endo but they won't acknowledge that it's affecting our fertility. We're now being told we've got to wait until we've been trying for 3 years to get on the list for IVF. Pretty much given up hope.

I have a friend on here that tried for a long while with endo. She is pregnant right now naturally. She has had a couple of laproscopies and removed tissues. I can have her contact you if you would like.

I didnt know where else to start this support group... So please join me. We can all support each other.

Also seeing a naturopath helped. I also think the acupuncturist did too.

Thanks, Floof x

HI ladies, I am glad that there are other's out there that have the same unexplained reasons why they aren't pregnant. I have had all the test and still haven't found anything that would prevent me from having a :baby: bump by now. Been trying almost a year now a year ago this Month I had a MMC and since then I can't seem to fall pregnant.

I've tried I think everything and it just doesn't seem to happen, vitamins, OPK's, BD at the right times. I just don't get it. Then you have people that try once or twice and get pregnant right away, I almost want to throw in the towel.

Dont give up hope on your dreams. Have you tried changing your diet or cleansing your body just to get rid of toxins?

I just gave her your info,

That'll be me! We've talked before on here and Endo forum as well. As you know I tried everything and finally had success, wish I could explain why this one has stuck when the others didn't! Endo definitely affects your fertility I wish more doctors would do some reading on it!!! 3 years is not an acceptable time to keep trying without support when you have a known condition which can affect your fertility. One of the consultants I saw even said that she would see us in fertility clinic after only 6 months ttc because the endo was so widespread (ok she then said she couldn't do anything as by that point we had been pregnant 3 times, but she referred us on for m/c testing). Can you ask to be referred to another consultant?

ttaby I think if i don't get bfp this cycle i'm going to try changing my diet. I seriously love bread and dairy so maybe that's affecting me. I'm also trying to gain weight as I'm very slim. Interesting about the melatonin- is it safe to take during lp or just pre ov?

Well I eat pretty healthy, no smoking or drinking, take vitamins, could stand to lose a little weight nothing drastic, and excercise often, so I don't know what else to do.

Hey,
I'm not really sure if I can ask to be referred to anyone else?.... Would we have to start all the tests again somewhere else?.... What if someone else says the same thing?... I wish I could find some evidence to support the endo affecting fertility thing. I had my last lap 18th April and there was widespread endo again, but my tubes are clear. There was some on one ovary, but I think they'll say its gone now so we shouldn't have a problem..... Thanks for your advice x

You have the right to request who you want to see so you can try to find out who the closest specialist in endo is, or you can even request to see consultants further away on the NHS (but obviously this will cost you travel etc). The new docs should be able to get info from previous consultant and test results etc so they shouldn't be repeated. Unfortunately if they say the same thing there's not a lot you can do but it might be worth a try if your next appointment doesn't achieve what you would like. In my experience I was told by the consultant who did both my ops (6 months apart, and more endo grew whilst on zoladex between the two) that we wouldn't have any problem conceiving whereas when I told the new cons/fertility specialist where my endo was and how more had grown she was very concerned for our chances. It's really a lottery which consultant you can see and therefore what help you get. Keep at them. x

Thanks Fifi,
I'm actually seeing fertility specialists at our hospital, who tried to tell me my endo was mild. Grrr. So I arranged to see a highly recommended endo specialist at the same hospital. He did my last lap and cut out the endo. I'm seeing the fertility specialists in 10 days and the endo specialist in 4 weeks. I wish they could at least get rid of the pain, and then I'd probably be a little happier... x

If it gives you any peace of mind since mid second tri my pain has been much less!

Melatonin is safe I took it pre ov and til 11 dpo:)

I was the same way.. Then I took out sugar.. ate mostly meats and veggies and no processed foods....

Just coming back to trying to conceive after suffering a miscarriage conceived through IVF.
Me and my dh have been trying for 2 years and 5 months. Had every test possible, laprascopy, blue dye test, 21 day bloods everything has come back fine.
The dr even put me on clomid for a couple of months even though I am ovulating and that didn't help...
Have tried clear blue fertility monitor, preseed, pregnancy vitamin tablets still no joy
Have been looking at things that can improve your fertility and they all say the same thing like weight, smoking, drinking, caffeine, etc. None of that applies to me. I am a healthy weight, I exercise, none of the above applies to me apart from an occasional drink.
I just do not get it???
Is there anything I can do???
Has anyone ever overcome infertility and gone on to have a baby??
I just don't know how long I can carry on with all the disappointment..

I don't really fit in the ttc category since I have never tried to get pregnant. I was married for 12 years and he had a vasectomy (and 2 children from a previous marriage), we had it reversed but the reversal failed (so I guess we were trying for 2 or 3 months before the tests came back with 0 mobile sperm).

Then I had dermoid cysts on my ovaries resulting in all of my right ovary and part of my left ovary being removed. I'm pretty sure there was some damage to my fallopian tube during all of this as well. I was sent to a fertility specialist who found that my uterus hadn't developed properly and was heart-shaped. I had surgery to repair that; and when I went back for the follow up I'm sure I was told the only way I could conceive was through IVF and the success rate was estimated at 25 - 30%. But in all the stress of illness my marriage fell apart. So I didn't go ahead with any other fertility treatments. I had made the decision that I would rather be childless than try to parent with him.

It took me a while and lots of tears and avoiding baby showers and pregnant people as much as possible, but I did finally get to the point where I accepted that I would be a step-mom again and do a good job of that and then maybe be a Nana to their children. Maybe. And baby showers weren't a big deal anymore, I was happy for the mom-to-be.

I am still overweight by about 20 - 30 pounds; but my diet is good as far as not a lot of caffeine, no smoking, no drugs, and I eat lots of veggies. I have also lost 20-30 pounds in the last year and a half (yoga and the wii).

I also found out that I am 7 weeks pregnant. I conceived just before my 36th birthday. So, even though I've never been in the ttc mode (I didn't think it was possible), I did manage to get pregnant. 100% naturally. And 100% quickly (the first time I was ovulating with the baby's father).

I would never say that because it happened for me that it will happen for anyone, although I hope it does. There's no explanation for why or how I managed to get pregnant ... I'm pretty sure when I see the ob-gyn on Wednesday that he's going to say that I was "lucky" or "it was meant to be" or "it is a miracle" or "something must have changed".

Right now, we're still a little bit in shock although I am coming out of it slowly and the OH will get there...eventually.

congrats! I believe any baby is a miracle after ttc for so long. i was a little shocked when i got my bfp too. i was told i would need drugs.. nope all natural.
