Hi there,

I was diagnosed with a unicornuate uterus which means I only have a half of uterous and one tube (the right one). I also have PCOS. I do have both ovaries and kidneys. My doctor has me on famera to gear me up for ovulation, and I am on my second cycle now; the first cycle did not work. I went in for an ultrasound three days ago to see the progression of the egg and which side it formed, and it turns out it formed on the left ovary (tubeless side). My question is, has anyone experienced this type of situation? Did you get pregnant with one tube, and know that you ovulated from the opposite side? My doctor said it is possible, but not probable, and that he sees this happen about 3X a year, where the egg gets grabbed by the opposite tube. If you have positive experience please post, I need some encouragement right now.

I don't have a personal experience to share---I just knew a coworker who had a similar situation as yours, if I remember correctly---and she did, with her doctors and specialist help, conceived and birthed a healthy baby. I'm not going to lie and say it happened overnight, but it did happen.

I remember her because I recall her saying she had a hard time finding a doctor who would help her---too many physicians had the 'well, this looks too hard' mentality instead of saying 'well, I AM a doctor, so let me see if I can help, and if not, get you to someone who may be able to.'

I don't know what kind of meds she was on, but I was there to hug her for a few months when her period would show...but she did eventually get her BFP and her little girl was born healthy as healthy could be.

I am sorry I can't be of more help---I just wanted to share this coworkers story and wish you much success...bighugs!

I don't have any experience with this, but I just wanted to offer some encouragement! I'm so sorry you're going through this, I can't imagine what an emotional journey you're on. Take heart though and keep at it! One of my favorite songs is from Rogers and Hart's musical, Carousel and the lyrics are:

"When you walk through a storm, keep your head up high, and don't be afraid of the dark. At the end of the storm is a golden sky and the sweet silver song of a lark. Walk on through the wind, walk on through the rain though your dreams be tossed and blown. Walk on with hope in your heart and you'll never walk alone."

I'm sorry I can't give an actual answer to your question, but I hope the beautiful lyrics of that song can encourage you! I'll be praying for you! Please keep us posted. :)

Hello! I also don't have any personal experience but wanted to reach out and offer support. I am so sorry you are going through this. There is a support thread for "irregular gals" on the ttc#1 page, you are welcome to share your story and join the ongoing conversation. The ladies on that thread all have different medical issues, but the common issue is that we don't have the "regular" fertility signs and predictors that make it easier for other women to conceive.

I hope you can find answers soon, take care of yourself this weekend. Positive thoughts and hugs your way!
