My GP refered me last week. And I'm impatiently waiting on my first appointment, anybody any idea of how long it is likely to take?

I know their will be a limit to what they will do for me but a little help may well be all we need.

hey :hi: I'm in glasgow so not sure if it's exactly the same but I was referred in either april or may (not sure which because in march my GP referred me to gynaecologist first in error and I had to then be referred by them :growlmad:) and my first appointment was in the middle of july :)

will yours be at the royal infirmary?

TBH I'm not sure which hospital it will be. But I think it will be Monklands, I know they used to have a fertility clinic but not sure if they still do.

However that is at least quick for the first appointment. Just read your ticker and my heart hit the ground for you for the length of the waiting list that you are on. Hugs and thanks for replying.

Good luck for your appointment tomorrow!

thank you so much :hugs: i hate the appointments so I'm really nervous

you might be even quicker then! :) I think glasgow is bad/the worst for waiting times, I don't think they put much money into fertility. hopefully lanarkshire is better :)

have you had any tests already?

My GP did inital blood tests which by shear chance she managed to catch me on "day 21" which did confirm that I do ovualate but it doesn't explain the randomness of it anything between 4 and 12 weeks is normal to me. Which clearly reduces your chances of catching a BFP.

Where is your appointment tomorrow?

yeah definitely, makes it so much more stressful trying to find out when you will ovulate! :( that's why I originally went to the GP, my cycles were 50-60 days long and I was diagnosed with PCOS.

did it take you long to conceive your LO?

my appointment is at the royal infirmary, it's just to get my AMH results and they'll give me either clomid or letrazole depending on what my ovarian reserves are like so it shouldn't be too bad hopefully! I've had bad news at every single appointment I've been to though so a part of me is expecting them to tell me it's really low and I'll never have children :(

I was really really lucky with my son I was only trying for about 5 months. In the lead up to my BFP with him my cycles were something like 4wk, 7wk, 7wk, 5wk But as I've never been on the pill and always had irregullar cycles. I was just about to get my GP to refer me when I got my BFP.

This time we've been trying since January with cycles 5wk, 5wk, 12wk, 4wk, and 8 wks Which I know is nothing compared to many others on this part of the forum but at 37 I don't really have much time to waste.

I really hope they give you something that will give you a chance rather than having to wait almost another 2 years. Fingers crossed.

My sis has PCOS and tends to only have 2 or 3 periods per year she got her daughter with IUI and was back on the list for help for #2 when she got her second BFP.

my OH has low count and motility so I don't think IUI is an option, grr :brat: I just have to hope one of his sperm will get it's arse into gear :dohh: he has got someone pregnant before, it's just that I have problems too so together it's difficult :(

I really hope you fall pregnant again while waiting for your appointment :) I'll cross my fingers for you :)

Keep me posted on how you get on tomorrow, good luck!

it went really well, thank you for asking :hugs: they gave me provera and femara so I'm going to take my first provera today :happydance: I'm really over the moon, I've been wishing for and wanting this help for a year and I'm going to be monitored which I didn't expect!

my AMH is 53.9 :laugh2: normal range is up to 20, I can't believe I was worried about it :)

how are you doing? :)

Hiya

Great to hear they have given you something fingers crossed that it does the trick.

I'm doing ok, living in hope that I'll have a normal cycle this month and might actually catch but I always seem to have that thought just after a period.

I finally had my first appointment today and they did an internal ultra sound that confirm what I've long suspected PCOS. And they did various blood tests on us both. They want a semen analysis from hubby shame about the 2 month wait for it but never mind.

The 2 mobth wait seems so long. I'm also under the care.of monklands fertility clinic. Hubby not managed to get time off work to do semen.analysis so next appointment seems so far off.
How did you feel after internal ultrasound? Xx

i don't come on very often anymore tommyg, sorry for the late reply! :hugs: i'm sorry about your diagnosis but it means you'll get the best treatment! i'm really surprised by the waiting time for the SA, two months seems ridiculous?? saying that, we got our appointment through for the SA two months before when it was so maybe that was because of a waiting list :) we then had to wait a month to get the results!

have you had an appointment time through for that or just waiting? hope it's speedy :)

The 2 month wait is I guess partly Christmas and partly the first date they could give DH couldn't make so its 2 weeks later if that makes sense.
But at least we have a date and we never know I still have a glimmer of hope we won't need help.

Sorry your meds didn't do the trick.

I'm not on here much either currently try to take my mind of TTC and thinking about Christmas and planning a ski holiday that I wasn't ment to have.

Up dating this thread for anybody also at Monklands

DH is fine, had to wait until March to see consultant who wanted me to have an HSG which I've just had all is fine there now have to wait until July to see the consultant again.

The time between appointments is really busting my head. But good to see Foquita has got that BFP!

thanks so much :hugs:

I thought that too, everything takes months :dohh: loads of people on here have got pregnant after they've had the HSG so I'm hoping that happens to you :winkwink:

Thanks I hope so too. Rightly or wrongly I decided to try Soy this month too.
