Hi all,
I was scheduled to have an operation to remove both of my fallopian tubes.
After the surgery, doctor told me that my right tube was stick together with my right ovary, this is the hard time to separate them and remove the tube.
Dr gave us the DVD of the operation.Hubby refuse to let me watch it at the beginning, but finally he agree to let me watch it two weeks after the surgery.

I watched the DVD last night. and i cried.
The right ovary seems really affected while dr did the separation between ovary & tube. Dr burn and cut to separate them.. i don't know how it's going to be right now.
Am I still can hope for a IVF section? my chances is slim??
Everytime i close my eyes, i can see the scene of the burnt ovary.

My next doctor appointment is on 6th Oct 08.
I'm scared and can't stop crying when i think of it.

Oh sweetie, that is a lot to go through, especially watching your own op :hugs:

I hope your appointment next month gives you lots of hope and sheds a bit more light for you.

Did Dr say if your right ovary is still viable in producing eggs? Is your left ovary ok?

So long as you have 1 egg producing ovary I would think that you would be ok to do IVF.

Please keep us updated, I hope everything turns out well for you

FJL, do normal fallopian tube connected to ovary? i mean the fimbrae is stick to ovary?

Dr said my left ovary is fine, but the right one is sort of injured during the operation. becoz my right ovary is stick together with the fallopian tube.

Do my right ovary need more time to recover? Will it recover?
Will i hv a very hard time if i have only one ovary for the IVF Ovary stimulation drugs?

I can't answer those questions i'm sorry. Hopefully the right ovary will heal and will still produce eggs.

You have your left ovary, and that will be able to be stimulated to produce multiple eggs for IVF. It probably means that you won't get as many eggs if only the 1 ovary is able to produce. I think for my last cycle I had about 7 eggs one side and 4 on the other.

When you go for your appt, be sure to write down a list of all questions you want answered. I hope you get the answers you're looking for :hugs:
