Hi ladies! I just wanted to drop an update on how my first appointment with the infertility specialist went yesterday! :)
The appointment itself could not have went any better than it did! First off, I just called to make the appointment on Tuesday and they were able to get me in on Thursday (amazing huh?) So DH couldn't get off work in that short amount of time, so I was bummed he couldn't go with me, but it all turned out ok!
The doc was amazing and very thorough and nice. He wants to take a headstrong approach of a "hit fast and hit hard" to my reproductive system, which I was super excited about. I wasn't sure exactly what the approach would be since we have only been TTC for a little over a year and a half now. I was finally diagnosed with PCOS severely and was only given the next year to two years to get prego :( which I pretty much knew that going in because my mom had severe endotrometriosis and had to have a complete hysterectomy at age 31. I knew my odds weren't fantastic going in, especially with the suspected PCOS and not ovulating and cycle lengths from 80-100 days (!!!!)
So, here's the gameplan. He gave me provera to start today for 10 days to kickstart AF (I haven't had a visit from AF since September of 09...) on the third day of my cycle I have to go in for some bloodwork, basically just the initial infertility work-up. On CD5 I start 50mg of clomid for 5 days, all the while taking metformin for insulin resistance starting 1/day/week, 2/day/week, and 3/day/week. on CD12 I go in for a pelvic scan to see about my follicles and such and possibly a tube flush (he said ws very uncomfy to do  ) but not definite on that. Then we just kinda go from there. He seemed really confident that since I have never had hormone therapy or treated for PCOS at all that my body will respond to the clomid really well, and we coul be prego in the next few months!!! yay!!!:cloud9:

So that's where we are now. Im going to start a journal just to keep track of things. This infertility stuff is defnitely a fine science! So, I'll eep ya'll updated!! :) :) Thanks so much for the support ladies!!! :)

Sounds like a great appointment, really hope the treatment works well for you babywatson.

That was great for your first appointment, good luck!

Wow I wish I had a FS like yours, where did you find him!!

Good luck

In Huntington WV. I actually drive an hour to go see him.

Id drive an hour as well, but I would need an 11hr flight before that (in UK) which might put the costs up a bit!!

:wohoo:Whoop Whoop! Baby Watson making underway! Whoop Whoop! Cant wait! Our lil babies can have play dates!!!!:wohoo:

Hoping you have good news in the next few months!! Good luck!! Clomid is amazing!! I was having 74 day cycles and my last 2 while on clomid were 28 days :D So hopefully it does the same to you! I know how much of a pain those long cycles are ((hugs)) xx

can't wait for the play dates Steph!!:thumbup:

and yes those long cycles, I won't miss those! I'm hoping the clomid can help me out with that!!
