The fluid filled bubble is definitely a cyst and the "thing" going through it is a piece of placenta but doesn't appear to have much blood flow so erm a bit like an extra bit of skin or something.
The specialist doesn't seem to think it's close enough to the cord to cause a problem as yet but still thinks it's going to need regular scans to make sure.
All this is reassuring and I'm feeling more positive now although still a little apprehensive and I still have my early labour history to worry about.
Baby was kicking like mad and seemed to be using the cyst as a pillow . Smudge kept snuggling into it like he/she was trying to get comfy
