Urgent Trigger/BD timing help :)

Hi nimbec - how are you doing? You've finished your clomid now, right?

I'm still waiting for a positive opk - I'm 5 days after my last pill so hoping I'll get a positive sometime very soon!! Have my scan on Tuesday & so looking forward to finding out what's going on instead of second guessing all the time!! Do you have some scans booked?

:)

Hi hun

yes last clomid taken last night phew! was so hormonal lol!! I didn't used to ovulate until between cd16 &22 even with taking the clomid 2-6 so don't worry you have plenty of time yet plus cd14 would be the average time and you have a few days left yet! FX for you. I'm also going in for a scan Tues so will be able to compare notes :) if you havent o'd i guess assuming your follies are good they will give you trigger?

Glad to hear you've finished the clomid. Hopefully you will feel less hormonal off them lol! Not wanting to kill your oh is probably useful at this point :haha:

When I called to arrange my scan the nurse told me to have a"busy" weekend as we might miss the window for a trigger. I ov'd cd 17, 21 & 30 on 50mg of clomid so I should have known not to get too excited. Just HATE waiting - you'd think a person would get used to it after a year or so!!!

They said I could have a trigger if I have at least one follicle measuring 20mm and lining at least 7mm. How about you? Do you know what you're "aiming for"??

Ahh i'm a late o'er on clomid too so frustrating!! Yes clinic will only trigger if at least one follie over 18mm for me tho and good lining but not given me a measurement as they have said it has always been fine.

Fx your o hurries up!!!!! and you have a 'fun' weekend! fx for tuesday for you!

haha yes handy to not feel like a crazy loon over the next week - i think we maybe divorced if i was like it normally LOL

x

Lining 8.7mm; 2 follies at 19mm and one at 17mm so had the hcg shot in clinic this morning :happydance:

Also had a lecture on multiples which has worried me a little but we decided to have the shot anyway this month. Next month they want me back on 50mg for a monitored cycle just to see which dose is best for me.

I sat in the waiting room with three other obviously pregnant ladies. One with her mum chatting happily about her bump and two couples holding hands. Almost brought me to tears. I wish they had seperate clinics (or just waiting areas) for different types of scan. I felt like such a loser waiting alone - not even able to grow my own follies without help. I hope I can be one of those preggos waiting for a scan soon.

How did your scan go hun? Hope you got good news too!!

Yay thats GREAT news wow lots of mature follies - fx this is your lucky cycle the odds are definately in your favour.....so now you have a busy few days of BD!!!! and on to the tww :)

With regard to multiples i guess its a case of crossing that bridge when you come to it! Did you ov on the 50mg?

As for me very productive meeting with consultant today, i have a few options for next cycle (see positive i'm not going to catch this one lol)

1) fsh injections and natural BD (but i have to have hsg first which will delay 1 whole cycle) Cost £150 plus hsg cost at £350

2) fsh injections with IUI (same hsg as above) £800 for iui and meds £350 hsg

3) IVF 8 week protocol £3500 no hsg needed.

Today i was scanned CD9 and they can see 4 small follies (same as last time at this point 9-10mm) so lets hope they bloody grow quickly this time. They said i def didn't respond more to the 100mg as no more follies but maybe the extra 50mg will help mature the eggs.....i'm back for a scan Saturday CD 13 ....i will do OPK's too incase i o before then but its doubtful i would - it would be a fist time ever LOL!

Happy waiting!! not sure what i will do next.......a chat to hubby and see what he feels!

I did OV on 50mg - cd 17,21 & 30 if I remember rightly. They speculated that I was responding less well over time so upped me to 100mg. Now they suspect 75mg might be best but want to try a monitored cycle on 50mg to see exactly what's going on.

Shame you haven't responded any differently to the 50mg dose... Yet! Cd 9 is still early days. Here's hoping for a strong finish!!!

You've clearly been given lots to think about too. What does your gut instinct say? Are you leaning towards one over the others? Are you at a private clinic? I was googling ivf over the weekend and found that some places offer money off an ivf round if you donate eggs. Is that something you'd consider to make it a bit easier financially?

What are "his" sperm counts like (don't know if he's hubby or bf lol!)? If they're good I might be tempted by the first option first. Maybe?? It's a hard choice though!!!

Ahh sounds like a good plan to do a monitored 50mg next time - although i really hope you don't need to!!!!!!!

yes lots to think about.....totally confused at the moment. If money was no object i'd do the IVF BUT thats not the case lol We do have it (well can borrow) but not sure if thats the right thing to do.

I have looked at egg sharing before and been to speak to them (when ttc baby 1) but decided it was not something i wanted to do. I wouldn't like the thought of another child out there that i wasn't involved with but its the perfect choice for some ladies and i think its a great gift to share eggs.

Hubby has great sperm no issues at all which makes me think the IUI is pretty pointless as all it ensures is that more are through your cervix but as he has no issues and a very good count plently should get there anyway.....oh idk!

Yes hopefully my follies will pick up speed and i may have at least one juicy one by saturday LOL!!!

Also i totally get how you feel in a room full of preggos ugh its really hard!! They should do all preg scan in pm or am if you ask me and then monitoring scans the other time! Are you private? I had this issue lots when i was on the nhs...they are more understanding in my private clinic now....as much as they can be.

I am with the NHS. They've been so great that I really shouldn't complain about that one little thing. It's just so frustrating sometimes.

Have you thought any more about the options you were given? I think you may be right about iui if your hubby's sperma are good - but you never know. That's the hard part!!!

Hope you are growing good follicles!! Do you have any twinges or cramps? I have my fx'd for you for sat!!
