Urine smelling of popcorn?! Early preg symptom?

Hi all,

I have only just noticed my urine smells of popcorn for the past 1 or 2 days its also really dark in colour - has anyone else had this before their BFP? xxx

This is weird, mine actually did!!! For a few days it was really dark and smelt of popcorn, I thought I was going mad!! Maybe it was something we ate or drank, or maybe it was because I was pregnant! Good luck!!

I havent really ate anything i wouldnt normally eat and i havent drunk for over 2 weeks so i know its not alcohol related, i dont have a UTI or any other sort of infection, its so weird it REALLY does smell of popcorn lol! xxx

It can be folic acid if you are taking it. It affects the colour of urine and smell.

Hhmmm iv been on 5mg of FA for 3 months and only now its changing? maybe its Jalepinos i ate saturday x

My urine smelled different and looked different but only cause I was taking prenatals. I googled popcorn smelling urine and it could be something you ate, an infection, protein in your urine, or you are just dehydrated. Hopefully it's a pregnancy sign for you though! fingers crossed

I'm newly pregnant and noticed mine smelt of sugar puffs. I got it checked at the gps and it's a nasty uti so even if you don't have any syptoms you might just want to get checked just in case.

I thought the popcorn I made smelled like urine the other day. Weird! LOL.

Last time my urine smelled after a BFP, I found out it was a massive UTI. Was put on macrobid and lost the baby a week later. I would check with your GP to make sure it isn't a UTI and get treated asap. I had no symptoms other than funny smelling urine.

Maybe you ladies put it in my head, but I just used the loo and my urine smells like kettle corn! Must be the prenatals!

I shoupd have said in my first post that I had a drs apt last week as I wanted everything in good working order and there was no sign of any infection so I don't think its a uti,I don't even think its pregnancy related anymore I don't know what it ie ls lol xxx
