US ladies - tap water

I've been making all 4 of her daily bottles with water straight from the tap; but now I'm remembering something about babies shouldn't be getting that much flouride........?

What kind of water do you use, and do you treat it?

We have a water purifier attached to my faucet. But my towns water is VERY hard. Yuck.

Before we bought that, we used Gerber water because there was nothing added to it. :)

I buy the nursery water that is fluoride free. Gerber makes it and it is $1

I use spring water and use my water cooler. I don't drinknout of the tap so I don't want LO to either.

I've always used Nursery water or Gerber water, or the flouride free Nursery water if I can find it. If I have to, I use bottled water. Our tap water has a weird taste so I never drink it, didn't want her to drink it either LOL

I use straight from the tap. My pedi said that its good for the babies to get flouride ane we have a clean water source so there is absolutely no reason to spend money on bottled water. Of course I don't boil my water, sterilize my bottles, or pacifiers either.

Before we switched to straight RTF, I used the flouride free Nursery water. I picked them up at Walmart for $1/gallon.

Tap water. water tank is set to highest, so it's scalding hot. never a problem with ds, and none with dd so far.

nursery water here too but my pediatriction said to get the one with the floride as its good for their teeth. He said making every bottle out of it isnt to much floride at all??

I use either Gerber's water if I have a coupon or the Babies R Us version of it (it's $.99 a gallon). If I'm in a pinch and can't get to BRU, I grab some Smart Water from the dollar store. I don't use tap water because my pediatrician puts them on a mulitvitamin with floride in it at 6 months old so if it was in the water too it would be too much.

I have made a handfull of bottles with tap water when I had to, but idk, the water is really "hard" here and even though the rest of us drink it, I feel better with the other water for lo.

My oldest is 13 and her adult teeth have white spots from to much floride! I used tap water with her now with my LO I only use the gerber flouride free. Yes they need floride but theres way to much in tap water! Goggle it!!

Teeth are generally composed of hydroxyapatite and carbonated hydroxyapatite; as the intake of fluoride increases, so does the teeth's composition of fluorapatite. Excessive fluoride can cause white spots and, in severe cases, brown stains, pitting, or mottling of the enamel. A tooth is no longer at risk of fluorosis after eruption into the oral cavity. At this point, fluorapatite is beneficial because it is more resistant to dissolution by acids (demineralization). Although fluorosis usually affects permanent teeth, occasionally the primary teeth may be involved.

The American Dental Association recommends that babies do NOT get flouride.

Most household filters do not remove flouride, unless they specifically say so. Bottled water also has flouride, unless it says otherwise.

All the baby water at the grocery store is labelled as "fluoride added". I'll have to look at BRU.

The Gerber and BRU brands of water have no fluoride. It's actually not your typical bottled water either, it's distilled water (so osmosis is used to make the water absolutely pure) with minerals added back in. Smart Water is the same thing and you can pick that up pretty much anywhere, it's also fluoride free. They have to add the minerals back in other wise it would taste awefull (the minerals from the ground that are naturally in fresh spring water is what makes it "taste" good).
