With my son, we went with Breastflow bottles b/c when i was starting formula we were still hoping for my milk to come in.... it never did. Hate that the markings fall off easily and that the nipples cave in from air pressure. We also used the Gerber glass ones, and i don't like how narrow those are.

So, looking to see what you ladies prefer - we do not mend spending more $ on a bottle that is going to be good

looking for a bottle that:
- is good for babies with reflux (just in case our next one has it too)
- doesn't cave in from them sucking (we've had to constantly stop feeding, twist the cap to let air back in, then give bottle back to baby)
- is wide-neck so easy to pour powder in
- markings don't come off from simple hand-washing
- doesn't require a pipe cleaner

reading a bunch of reviews on Amazon and thought I would see what you ladies liked... so, any suggestions?

thanks!

These are the ones I prefer. They are wonderful. https://www.target.com/p/playtex-ve...209186&LID=PA&ci_src=17588969&ci_sku=10209186

I use playtex drop-ins and love them! I also use the vent-air but the only downside to those is all the parts you have to clean and that they dont work well in a bottle warmer because the bottom is so thick.

We use the playtex drop in ones. Our favorite. We also have the ventair ones- ok but no difference for reflux, dr browns- didn't help with reflux had rediculous parts to clean, have tried a couple of the new similac bottles, extra parts to reduce air bubbles, they don't actually mix well.

Dr. Brown's are my favorite, but you said no having to use pipe cleaners to clean lol so they're out. I also have classic Avent and I like them too. There's only 1 extra part to clean, it's just a ring (they call it an anti-colic ring) that fits in around the base of the nipple to help baby not take in air. Here are the Avent ones we use. They do also have ones called "natural" with nipples shaped more like "mom".

We really like the Playtex Vent Air. We have tried several different bottles, and this is our favorite. My girls were preemies, and this nipple didn't flood them or leak when feeding them.

i was wondering how the new similac ones were - thanks!

thank you, ladies!!

reading up on the ones you ladies suggested -

have any of you had problems with the Avent or the Playtex nipples caving in from suction, or had any problems with the markigns coming off?

I have had the narrow playtex nipples collapse but not the wide nipples.

We just recently switched to the Playtex VentAire after using the Medela bottles that came with my pump. DD used to suck in the nipple constantly with the Medela bottles, and she also used to choke a lot on those bottles. Now, there is no choking, no sucking in the nipple, and I've seen a decrease in the amount of spit up.

We used avent for our first dd and four years later just bought new nipples and are currently using them again. Love them because they don't have many parts to clean and are very easy to pour formula powder into. Mine don't have the anti colic ring a pp mentioned so you only have the bottle, nipple, nipple ring and cap. We've never had a nipple collapse. The only thing you have to watch out for with the avent bottles is leaking. If you don't screw the nipple on by holding the cap it will leak almost every time. Twist it on by holding the cap and when it starts to turn then the nipple is on tight enough and won't leak.

im not in the US, but was reading your thread out of curiousity as im using a US bottle!
i switched to the playtex ventaire wide recently and my lo loves it.
my main reason was because of the shape of the bottle. my lo wants to be more upright during feeding now and the bottles i previously used were tommee tippee which were awful and i had to tip his head way ack to get the last few ozs in him.
i like the wide neck on the ventaire bottles too as its easier to get the scoops of formula in.
