I have just boiled a ham joint for OH and I always throw the stock away!

What can I use it for? Soup springs to mind straight away but not sure what soup?

Ideas wold be fab :) xx

ham and pea soup!

Omnomnom

Just DO NOT add any salt as the 'stock' will be salty.

Or a lentil soup maybe

Make sure you leave it to cool before you use it though so you can skim off the solidified fat and any scum...the rest of the stock may turn to jelly but it'll melt again when you heat it.

I make a veg soup with lentils, split yellow peas and whatever veg you fancy (usually carrots, onions, turnip, potatoes sometimes) and use ham stock. Tastes amazing and the kids love it, easy way to get the veggies in them!
