hi ladies.....anyone got any info or experience on having a urine infection while pregnant or it causing a MC?

I ended up in A&E last week and had a full MC and they discovered i also had a UTI...they couldnt tell me if the UTI caused the MC or vica versa. But UTI's can cause early labour. I had no infection symptoms and this i find unnerving as i used to suffer from Cystitis so i think i should notice. However, since my MC is over and the cramps have ceased i have had twinges in my bladder area. My concern is if i didnt know this time i had an infection how would i know next time?

or....would i not notice because they came on at the same time....guess im trying to download as well as find out info and to see if anyone has any experience or the same situation...

I know i should ask my GP (and i will when i next go) but i never take in the information when im there!!

Hi, First of all I'm so sorry for your loss. I've never been pg but I'm just getting over a uti and while trying to sort things out I found at the drugstore (Walgreens) some tests that you can do to find out if you have a uti. They seemed similar to pregnancy tests and I actually found them in the same area as the hpt's and the opk's. But if you have recurrent uti's you can tell your DR so you can be tested periodically. I've read about women who are on antibiotics their entire pregnancy.

hi, uti's are common in pregnancy and not proved to cause mc
it's probably coincidence that you had both at the same time
i'm sorry for your loss
