Hi

I'm 31 weeks pregnant and can't decide on delivery for this baby.

My labour with my first was horrendous. Needed forceps, episiotomy that took weeks to heal and got infected. Had PPH and ended up with 3 prolapses that I had to see physio for. This affected me greatly and I was emailing the birth trauma website over a year after her birth.

I've seen the consultant and consultant midwife and found them very dismissive of my concerns and how this is affecting me mentally. I've been going backwards and forwards all through this pregnancy and I feel like my concerns are not being listened to end keep being told that second deliveries are easier and it will be like shelling peas!

Any advice? If I had a c section date booked I would feel so much better (it's keeping me awake at night) but I keep getting fobbed off.

Keep pushing. I had a less traumatic labour (38 hour, meconium, infection to the lining of the womb during, forceps and an episiotomy but I healed just fine) and I was offered a section at 13 weeks. I didn't want one and ended up having a breeze labour but the offer was still there. Try see if a GP could gather information about all the problems you had and recommend that you get a section too, I've found GPs very helpful for kicking other people up the bum!

I'm being induced on Thursday. I wanted am elective section due to previous traumatic birth. It was similar to yours forceps bad episiotomy that didn't heal and stitches popped out. Was horrific. But I've been flat out refused section. I don't feel they care what so ever about my mental state with it all. I suffer with anxiety and have told them if they don't atleast give me a side room I'm refusing induction.

Hmmmm sorry just popping over from 3rd trim!!! im currently 39+1 and im booked for c-sec on tuesday due to a previous 3a tear now that sounds nothing like the hell yous ladies have experienced so my question is ehy havent i had any bother about an elective c-section but you have? im in scotland btw :/ 2 previous losses this is our 3rd time lucky and expecting a boy xxx

My 1st birth was traumatic for me. Only 2nd degree tear but took 6 weeks to heal.
I was that traumatized i said i wouldn't be having any more kids unless it was a section.
Well i gave birth vaginally 14 months later to my big 9 pounder and his birth was an absolute breeze and such a beautiful and healing birth. I didn't tear and i went home 6 hours after having him! It was so wonderful, i had no help at home so a section was out of the question i had to drive and care for a new born and a very active 14 month old. Besides hospitals here won't allow you to have a section just because you had a bad experience.
Good luck with what ever you choose x

I'm in Scotland too and was offered a section like it was no hassle.
