I'm too tired to even make this post longer than a few sentences..

But, did anyone suffer with vaginal wall prolapse after giving birth, and if so what did you do about it?

X

I'm 10 weeks 5 days pp and in sure u have uterine prolapse. I really need to go to the doctors to get checked but I keep hoping it will correct itself 😐
I keep doing pelvic floor exercises hoping they will help!

Have you been to the doctors ? X

Oh dear! I'm 6 weeks tomorrow pp, no I've not been to the doctors, I haven't had chance (or courage!).

I've also been doing pelvic floor exercises in hope it will go away but I'm thinking a trip to the docs will be needed if only to put my mind as ease.
God, as if we haven't been through enough.

What's going on downstairs in that department for you to think urineary prolapse? X

I know it's not fair is it!

Basically my cervix is really really low down there and uterus is also low. Where as before I had more of a vagina (haha sorry for the tmi)
I won't even attempt having sex in fear that there isn't even room down there! I do think it is slowly improving it seems to be going w but higher up on its own, I do think I'll go to the doctors in a few weeks if it's still the same way x

Hi there.

I was totally convinced I had a prolapse with baby number two. I told my midwife and she checked for me and it was actually a stitch that had come out and literally left a bit of my uterus hanging out 😱 I can't tell you how long it took to sort itself but it was WEEKS and then it just healed up. Def get it checked out as self diagnosis doesn't always work and it may not be as bad as you think. Good luck. X

I thought I had a prolapse too and kind of freaked out but when I got my OB to check he said it was just from the vaginal walls sagging a bit after being stretched out and that it would get better. It took about 3 months but did disappear. It only happened after my first baby, not after the other two.

I was convinced I had a prolapse after my 3rd baby. My cervix felt so low, and there was an obvious bulge going on. :dohh: I gave it some time though, and it all went back to normal. It was that way after my 4th as well (although not as bad -- she wasn't as hard to push out!) and it's back to normal now. :)

Oh, and I also just kept doing pelvic floor exercises every time I remembered to. I think they might have helped!

Ahh thanks for the replies, ladies.

Sometimes I forget it only been 6 weeks since giving birth - I think I thought my body would be back to normal by now. Wrong! Haha.

My best friend also told me she had what I'm describing n it all disappeared on its own, so perhaps It's normal and it'll go away in time.

I'll still get checked by my doctor if I ever get a chance.
Health visitor is coming in a few hours but I don't wanna mention it to her, I'd rather see my doc.

I hope it's all just saggy from birth n in a few months I'll be back on track. Urgh, what hassle!

I have a vaginal wall prolapse and bladder prolapse :(.

I thought it was just symptoms of labor and it would go away. I was also told that by an RN. So I thought I was in the clear, until I had my 8 week check and the doc told me that I definitely have a rectal vaginal wall prolapse and bladder prolapse. The bladder isn't so bad though and I don't have any incontinence. I got fitted for a pessary and only use it for exercise. I don't need it otherwise. I'm also not in any pain.

I had 16 hours of Pitosin and I read that it can also cause prolapse. I didn't have any pain meds and I was in labor for 34 hours after my back waters broke.

The prolapse is annoying, but not as bad as I thought it would be. You can have surgery to repair it but there is no sense on surgery if you still want children. I'm just not prepared to say that we won't have anymore children just yet.

I have a uterine prolapse. I can feel my cervix in my vaginal entrance when I walk. It's horrible & painful, & I'm terrified it'll get worse. I'm almost 4wks PP, my GP said to hold off on anything until my 6wk checkup (which is at 7wks because the Drs are apparently booked up..) He told me to do pelvic floor exercises and lots of walking.. Except walking makes it worse, so I feel like he didn't really listen.

When I lie down, my cervix goes to about 3cm deep inside me, and then obviously drops when I stand up.

I've asked for a referral to physio & if it's the same at my checkup then I'll ask to see a specialist. After everything I've been through, this will be my only baby.

I wanted to update about myself. I am 12 weeks pp tomorrow and have noticed definite improvement in this last week! It does take time. 6 weeks pp is only a short amount of time don't expect to be back to normal then because you'll panic if you're not like me. Give yourself at least 4 months! X

I wouldn't worry too much this early, it can take a lot longer than 6 weeks for everything to go back to normal. Not saying there's definitely no problem but mention it at your 6 week check and go from there :flower:

I noticed a bladder prolapse whilst I was pregnant (about 34 weeks) with no.2. It doesn't bother me very often though occasionally I feel slightly uncomfortable down there for a few minutes when walking etc. this is rare though. my OB told me that it is very very common and not to worry about it too much. Apparently the surgery is way worse than just doing physio and I saw on BBC news that people were suing for the side effects of corrective surgery which are awful.

I didn't mention it at my check up today cos I felt a bit rushed so I'm just gonna see how things go. It feels a little better, I suppose. But it's def not back to normal, I had a feel earlier today in the shower and it's all squishy inside but not painful when I push on it.. (Sorry, tmi) haha

I'll give it another month before talking to a doctor if I've no improvement

Here's a link to the thing I mentioned about lawsuits women are bringing for the mesh surgeries in prolapse cases:

So I think I have this. At my 5 week check up I was all clear but I noticed today at 8 weeks me cervix is right at the entrance. If I walk a lot it may come out a cm or two. I'm freaking out. :( I'm calling dr tomorrow but if I didn't have anything but now suddenly do 2 months pp its most likely a prolapse right? :(

I found pelvic floor exercises really helped with mine. Definitely still get in touch with your gp, but get on those exercises while you wait! x
