VBAC after two c-sections?? Is it even an option?

We are currently TTC #3. My DS was an emergency c-section back in 2002 for failure to progress. My DD was in 2007, I went into labor naturally and was progressing normally but the hospital here forced me to do a c-section due to medical laws in my area. I wish I had been better informed of my choices in 2007. I am STRONGLY wanting to attempt a VBAC when and if I am able to conceive this child. This will be our last child. I feel like I was jipped an experience and forced into a lengthy and unnecessary surgical recovery. I feel so strongly about it, that I am willing to give birth at home with the assistance of a midwife if necessary. I never got to be the first to hold either of my children. Is this even a possibility for me or is it a pipe dream? Has anyone here had a successful VBAC after two c-sections??

I would like to know the answers to these questions too. I will be faced with the hard decision to VBAC after 2 previous c-sections or go with another c-section.

It is possible. There are some OB/GYN or MWs that will practice VBA2C but it's pretty rare.

Yes, you can certainly have a VBAC after 2 c-sections. You'll have better odds of your care provider being on board if you find a midwife. ;)

It is totally possible!!! I know this because I just had a consult with an obgyn two hours from where I live to learn that!!! I am over the moon and cannot wait to experience labor. my previous csections were due to impatience on my doctor's part and putting a huge fear into me that my baby was going to be too big to deliver naturally. Well...he did come out at 10 lbs but seeing as how I was a 9 lb 9 oz baby and my husband was 9 lbs 8 oz that's going to be 'normal' for me! My daughter came out at 9 lbs 9 oz and another planned csection due to my naive thinking that I needed to just go with what my doctor's said was my best option. Which in hindsight I know to be false. And now because of that I will be driving two hours once I am in labor to a hospital and ob who is completely supportive of me having a trial of labor after 2 sections. Now mind you each situation is unique and you have to be stitched a certain way and go into labor spontaneously but it is possible and just takes some research and being an advocate for your own health. So now we are just praying baby stays under 10 lbs estimated weight...head down and spontaneous labor before 42 weeks so we can get our shot at a vaginal birth!!! I am still just giddy aboutthe possibility...as crazy as that sounds. Best of luck on your search for a supportive ob or midwife...but just know it is definitely possible! :-)

Thank you for all your responses! Its really great to see that with some research it is a definite possibility. Now if only I could get pregnant! lol well I think its good to do research ahead of time, so that when the time comes I have a plan in place. My husband is supportive, as long as (hopefully soon to be) baby and I stay healthy and the pregnancy has no complications.

3 sections here- I found an OB that is willing to let me attempt- he comes highly recommended. Check out this website called birthwithout fear- loads of women who have had successful VBAC's. I actually found my dr from here from one of the women who posted her delivery story.
