You poor ladies...this makes my very unplanned labour seem fantastic. I was supposed to have a home water birth but things kept stop-starting and about 7cm dilated I decided to go in for an epidural. The pain in my back was intense, I was screaming and my contractions were coming every minute or so, way too intense and close together. I ended up having an epidural and episiotomy and ventouse and all is fine...very bruised but about a week or so later things felt easier and I could sit better etc.
To be honest, I feel more guilty about what I put my baby through...he is very sensitive and jumpy sometimes and I feel terrible that I couldn't handle the pain and must have frightened him lots with my screaming. He also had a huge bruise on the back of his head.
I had a very rude consultant do a very rough internal on my and subsequently deliver him and I was more traumatised from that.
