Ok, I don't want to take credit for this but I can't figure out how to post a link in here. So, I got this in the Ovulation/Pregnancy tests forum on here. This girl is a nurse (obgyn) and she talks about $ tests. VERY important info!!
Over my past 7 years working with hopeful pregnant women, pregnant women and postpartum I have to inform you that it is common for dollar tree stores to give many false positives and many false negatives.
Reason for this:
Dollarstores, dollar trees- and the like do not store the pregnancy tests in the proper temperature before placing them on the store shelves. Either the temperature is way above or below the required temp and will cause a faulty test. To prove this- the doctor (who is a man) that I worked for grabbed five tests at random and according to the tests he was positive 2 times for pregnancy. I am 22 weeks pregnant and at 12 weeks I was negative.
