Vicar....help!

Hi girls

We have booked our venue, but now I need to ring the vicar and book the church - I am really nervous!!! Please can you help...

What do they ask you when you first meet?
We're not normally church goers - I think I'm nervous he'll say no or something! (my parents are christians though)

What is everyones experience with this???

Ahh, I was nervous too - but don't worry, it's not that bad.

I had to call the "wedding clerks" for the church to let them know I was interested. I then filled in a "connection form" to prove I had a connection/reason to marry there. (I actually live in Herts, but marrying in Somerset.)

We then met up with the wedding clerks to book the date and fill out the forms.

Seriously though, it's fine. I was so worried about doing it, but it was better once I'd done it!

Ha ha yes I rang! He was really lovely, just pencilled us in on the date we wanted and put a banns application in the post, and said we'd take it from there! So it was easy! The accompanying letter said we would need to meet him at some point to talk about Christianity and marriage, and for a rehearsal near the time. Your banns have to be read at the church 3 times before wedding (and ours isnt our parish church so we have to arrange for them to be read at ur parish too) and a £50 deposit!
