Ok so I have been dying to use these new viola pg tests as they can show positive result from as little as 5mlu however I have seen a lot of negative comments of how they may present a false positive. I tested @ 7DPO & again at 9DPO & nothing within the time frame. The only thing is with these tests, there very different to other brands. Usual tests have an absorbent tip which soaks up urine & through the testing strip however with viola the test strip is in a plastic case with a hole where you pee & the urine runs all through the case covering the whole test. It's hard to see the indicator as the test is saturated so I found it easier to remove from the case however when it's drying its leaving what looks like an evap??? My only concern to think it could be positive is the test line is thicker that the first one.

Anyone else had any experience with these tests?? Help greatly appreciated :-)

can u get a syringe or baby dropper and drop a few drops of pee on it instead?

Suppose I could buy it says to hold under your stream for at least 3 secs so it must need a bit x

It looks positive maybe they where not false positives but chemical pregnancies? Where did you get those I want some!!!?!?

I see a line on the test in the first post. I do have a problem though with them picking up 5miu because if you have 5 HCG in your system you are classed as not pregnant and you may not have a pregnancy forming. These can cause false hope and maybe even make people grieve for a chemical pregnancy that may never existed, if you know what I mean.

That being said I hope this is the start of your BFP. Good luck and try not to torment yourself. :hugs:

Here 5 is considered pregnant. I so want one those test's lol. A whole bunch. OP, I say congrats is in order.

above 5 is considered pregnant as women carries 0-5 in there system at any given time that is why they only consider 6 pregnant...

the hospitals in navada are the same here, NYC ...some doctors dont consider till 25 mui in your system but that is a whole other story. As many times until you hit 25 you could have a chemical so in the past alot of doctors wouldnt let you know till you hit 25 mui and alot of hospitals and docs still go by that, which I think is seriously nuts but ..

but i agree as taking a test that picks up 5 will give tons of people heart ache for chemicals that do not exists :nope: or making someone think there pregnant only to break there hearts.

I think these new test picking up 5 mui is playing on women desperate to see a line.

I like them because they detect early enough for me to get on medications.

The doctors say 5 and above is positive. Anything below is negitive. At the ER 25 is positive.

But, it is heartbreaking to have chemical losses. I have had a few and was picked up by blood work early on. That's how I knew I was ever pregnant in first place.

Everyone has own opinion on it. But, I find it hard when women get false positives, no confirmation on another test or blood work.

I still want these, look pretty cool OP.

honestly your misinterpreting the labs, im not trying to argue it but I know that its above 5 as we have 5 in our bodies...that would be hard to tell if any women is pregnant then if they said 5 is positive, honestly think about that for a minute....if they said 5 is positive then all women would be pregnant....its higher then five...grab a lab report and look 0-5 greater then is positive....All hospitals and doctors aside from the few who do 25, again insane....., ..

menopausal women actually have a quant of 9 or above at all times as well.

in America there is a quantitative test 0-5 neg, large then five pos, and and qualitative test 25 and above....that is all America

in the uk i think some places are 25 other 50 and some even 100....that would drive me bonkers right now as im ttc for 3 yrs

ere are a few facts that most ED providers are unlikely to know about hCG testing:

hCG appears in blood before urine, sometimes up to 5 days earlier.
The claimed analytical sensitivity of most qualitative urine hCG tests is 25 IU/L whereas the quantitative blood assays are sensitive to 1-2 IU/L (commonly pregnancy is defined by greater than 5 IU/L).
Even though common qualitative urine tests claim 99+% accuracy in determining pregnancy status, a recent study suggests that they are actually only 99% sensitive at an hCG concentration of 150-225 IU/L.
There is a potential window of 3 to 7 days during the first trimester of pregnancy where a quantitative blood test will detect hCG while the qualitative urine test might not.
Ectopic pregnancies can occur at hCG concentrations below what is detectable by current qualitative methods.
In one study of over 11,700 urine samples, 69 (0.5%) of ED hCG test results were erroneous due to documentation errors, inherent deficiencies in qualitative tests or because the hCG concentration was below the level of detection.

Here is the information from the leaflet inside the test. :-)

I hate to tell you this but we carry up to 5 mui at all given times 0-5 different times of the day when not pregnant is normal...

that leaflet will say what it needs to say to get sold..

get ur labs paper from the lab and it will read

0-5 not pregnant
it doesnt mean ur not, it can rise but it is not considered pregnant simply because we have 5 mui in our bodies anyway,,,they want it to be over 5 to prove pregnancy for that reason...

is that explained better? I know i have a hard time explaining stuff sometimes

Crazycolors - Thank you for sharing. Can't wait to see more! Looks promising.

Ok so I'm very confused now! Tested with frer which is BFN however also used an opk which to me seem pos? I'm about 10 days past what I thought was ov but now this? I'm very new to this, can any of you lovely ladies share any experience with this? Iv no idea when ad due as I have very irregular cycles.. I'm on day 33 today & my last cycle was 88 days long so I'm a frequent opk tester! Xxx

It could be possible FRER is not as sensitive as that other test which can mean this was a false negitive.

You can get positive OPK while pregnant. Or right before AF is due. Or maybe your ovulating now or close to it. Always BD just in case. Do you chart?
