Hi all

My baby is just over 6 months and I've been EBF. I've read that all breastfed babies should take vitamen drops from 6 months that contain vitamen D and iron etc.. My lo is getting some iron from her baby porridge that she's just started but I'm guessing this may not be enough.

Do you all give your babies vitamen drops and if so which type is the best? I'm hoping to buy some this week.

Thank you!

Yes, it is recommended to start on a vitamin drop from 6 months for BF babies and then FF babies once they drop below 500ml a day or move onto cow's milk.

I think Abidec is the standard one that most people use in the UK, but there are several different brands on the market. We use WellKid (made by the same people who make Pregnacare) just because it had a little extra of either iron or vitamin D (forget which now) compared to Abidec. My daughter actually loves it. We give it to her every night during dinner and she even points to the bottle until we give it to her if we forget!

Thanks for the recommendations, I buy my Pregnacare online so next time I do I may order some of the Wellkid drops too. When I pop to the shops I'll look out for the other one you mentioned as well.
It's good to know which ones are the best as I'm sure there are loads out there!

Thank you x
