Hi punkymom! You might find this thread a good read:

I absolutely love Vitex and when paired up with the right person it's one amazing herb :) . GL doll! :dust:

Thank you SweetPotatoPi! :happydance:
CONGRATS! :hugs:

I have irregular cycles and was thinking I don't ovulate or if I do its REALLY late. I am hoping vitex helps! :D

Did you ovulate before vitex?

Yes I was ttc for 1 year.. with irregular periods and fell pregnant the first month I took vitex :)

WOW! CONGRATS!
Do you attribute it to the Vitex?

I am on day 15 with Vitex but I am not sure if I ovulate right now.

We were ttc off and on for 5 years. I added supplements (vitex being one) and some other stuff and got my bfp within 3 cycles of taking!!
Like a pp said, for the right person vitex can really help but I don't think you should take it if you are regular.

I was o'ing regularly (temp rise), but had some abnormal spotting during my cycle, usually on days 8,9,10, with o around cd 14-15. And I had very short, light periods that lasted like 2-3 days (all started after my 4th child, when my cycle returned after breast feeding)
The supplements I took cleared all that right up in just 2 months, after probably 6 years.

Thank you so much!
May I ask what else you are taking wish4baby?

I am taking 1200 vitex, macs twice a day, fertility blend, and tea.

My cycles are so super messed up.
I think if I o at all it is around cd 24? I am on cd 33 and spotting 3 days ago but thats it.

I was sick for many years but I finally got healthy around almost a year ago. My cycles have really only returned even irregular about the last few months.

I can see how this may not be what some need but for me I think this is a really good option and I feel in my heart it will help! :D

I am SOOOO excited to hear all the success stories!
I was feeling hopeless and my doctor just wants to throw me on high doses of clomid. :(
I want my body to work natural. :)

Oh, one last thing. could you look at my chart below.
What does it mean that my temp keeps spiking so high?

I would say SweetPotatoPi and myself are both Vitex lovers we both got our BFPs this month and will continue it thru 1st Tri!!! GL

Thank you Sis4Us! :flower:
Could you tell me how long you were TTC and how long you were taking vitex?

How long did it take to kick in for you?

Thank you and CONGRATS!!! :happydance:

Well I guess because that the only new suppliment that I took that month.. other then that I had vit d and iron deficiency so I was taking those suppliment plus folic acid for 3-4 prior yo that xx

That is sooo great dream.angel! CONGRATS AGAIN! :D :flower:
Happy and Healthy pregnancy! :hugs:

I hope you have the very best pregnancy and enjoy every moment! :winkwink:

I'll try to remember :) I had a very organized list, but I deleted it, can't believe I did that!
I was definitely taking:
vitex, 2/day all cycle, off during menstration
Dong quai 2 (I think) but only until ovulation (this helped my period be heavier and got rid of that early cycle bleeding) be careful, this is strong
A Prenatal, plus a lot of extra B6 and Zinc
Royal jelly
Maca root
Evening primrose oil for about 5 days near ovulation (a lot, maybe like 3-4 pills if I remember correctly)
Pre-seed

I also walked everyday for circulation, did self fertility massages on my lower abdomen and foot reflexology (I googled them and watched videos online), and removed gluten and high carb / processed foods from my diet (with a few cheats though).
*a friend was infertile for 9 years, removed gluten and got pregnant within a couple months, turned out she was having an unknown allergic reaction to gluten in her diet! Which is why I decided to try out going gluten free.

As for your chart, do you have any others, so I can compare? I clicked it but only saw one, I don't know if I'm doing it right lol. I do think you are ovulating because I see lower temps in the beginning and what looks like higher temps starting in the second half. I can't really pinpoint a day, but I'd say maybe around cd 24 as indicated, but maybe cd 31, b/c of the big spike? You'll be able to tell more if AF starts b/c the luteal phase doesn't typically vary month to month.

Thank you wish4baby!

I think we are taking similar things then!

I have done a lot of reading :coffee: and although I don't really KNOW I FEEL like these are the best things to take.
Can you take EPO daily?

Unfortunately this is my first time charting.
I wish I had known and I would have started WAY before we were TTC.

I do hope that I am ovulating but plan on using OPK's and temping this month too! :thumb up:

Hopefully that will give me a clearer picture of what is going on.

Thank you again for the advice and tips!
I hope that I will be celebrating alongside you and the other vitex lovers soon! :hugs:

It took me over a year to conceive the first. VERY irregular cucles ( like 50+ days) after coming off bcp. I took fenugreek forever to no avail. Finally called the doc for clomid, weeks passed an 'it shouldve' made me ov by then.... I was at my wit's end went to Whole foods and bought vitex in a dropper, ovulated within a day of taking it.

Round two, breastfed my son past 1yr of age, around15 mos he slowed down feedings considerably. Again weeks went by, no period. Took vitex again and ovulated within days of taking it.

Could ALL be coincidence but I feel its been related.

Thank you!
Thats great to hear and for sure sounds like vitex helped!

I am so glad to hear there are other options than just going on medication. :nope:

Thank you again! :hugs:

Awww thank u hun that's really sweet of you.. and best of luck to you as well xx

After charting for 6 months before TTC I could see I ovulated irregularly. Not terribly long cycles like some women have, but O day could be anywhere between CD12 or CD24. I was frustrated by what to me seemed like a long wait and after ovulating on CD23 with our first cycle, which ended in a BFN, I was determined to ovulate earlier with the second. I took vitex from CD1 to CD7 when I gave up in annoyance because I'd taken Soy Isoflavones from CD3 to CD7 as well. I hadn't read that you weren't supposed to take them at the same time. I was upset with myself, thinking I'd wasted a cycle, but actually, it worked and I ovluated early for me on CD13. It was also the cycle we got our BFP. So either the vitex or the soy (or both, who knows) were a big success for us.

Good luck!!

x

OMG! Thats GREAT! CONGRATS! :hugs:

I was thinking of doing soy but I didn't get my af this cycle so will be just sticking with vitex and maca for now. I really hope it works!

My cycles have been CRAZY for many years so I am hoping with the support of Vitex I can get everything straitened out. :happydance:

Congrats again and I hope you have a GREAT pregnancy! :flower:

Thank you SweetPotatoPi! :happydance:

Vitex will definitely help with cycle irregularities  . It seems to work especially nicely for those of us with estrogen dominance issues. It's a very powerful yet slow-acting, gentle herb. It does take time for a complete cycle overhaul. I saw incredible effects the very first cycle I used it and it took at least four cycles in to see some major cycle shifts, so be patient :winkwink: . I do ovulate but I've been dealing with some major hormonal imbalance so my cycles just weren't right. Is this your first cycle charting/temping? It does seem like you've O'd but keep watching those temps to get more info!
