Vouchers vs. Tax Credits

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

I'm trying to work out whether we get a better deal with tax credits or childcare vouchers and it is toooooooo confusing and now I feel like there is no time left to apply for either!

Everytime I feel like I have all the info I need I find out I need something else. I now need to know what my pension contributions "are" - so is that what they were on mat pay, or what they were when mat pay ended, or what they will be when I go back to work, or an average of all three? The question just says What are your pension contributions? - GAH!!!

I read somewhere (HMRC website I think) that if you have the choice, you will always be better off using childcare vouchers.

Thanks, that's only of your scheme offers more than £243 per month in vouchers - which mine doesn't. The HMRC site has an online "Better Off" calculator but it is the most complicated thing EVER!

However after speaking to many people over many weeks I finally talked to someone who said "Oh your husband earns too much, take the vouchers!" I had been telling people our income for weeks and no-one mentioned this before!!
