Waiting for 'lap and dye'

Hello, has anyone had a laparascopy & HSG (lap & dye) done? My Dr has referred me today & I just wondered how long a wait I was likely to have until I get an appointment. Any comments gratefully received, thank you very much, Hope x

hello Hope35, I am having my lap and dye done on May 4th, I had to wait until AF arrived and then they schedule for day 7-10 of menstruals, so finally AF came and I called that same day and got an appointment for May 4th, the nurse told me to take some cramp medication about 45 mins before the lap and dye. I totally understand, i am so nervous to find out what is going on in there. I am not so much worried about the pain but more about the results. DH also has SA this week so anxious about that too.

I think it varies depending on your PCT and the work load. My appointment came through about a month after referral and it was for a week later. It's nothing to worry about - just be ready to take it easy afterwards to give your body the chance to recover.

It really does depend on where you live, unfortunately.

hi....i had a lap & dye on 3rd feb but i paid privately to see the specialist, luckily they do treat nhs patients too so i got it done on nhs but had it done at the private center & didnt have long to wait from the time i got the referral.....think it was about 6/7 weeks. my friend got referred by her gp & had it done at my local general hospital & waited about 3 mths....as far as i was told they have a deadline to meet from the time u get referred to them getting ur op done.

im pleased to say i got my bfp 17 days after my lap and dye so i really think they are great op's!! x
