I have for the last +10 years actively attempting to become a mother with not even a single 1 positive prego test in my life. Heart broken and feeling like I will never experience the beauty of motherhood I go to a new obgyn office with a fresh set of physicians and ideas. After leaving from my first appointment I am prescribed with Progesterone to jump start the periods I never seem to have on my own so that I can try out Femara for the first time rather then clomid. My obgyn wants me to start Intercourse on the 14th day of my cycle and I will do just that but I was thinking of putting my husbands semen into a IUI "needle" and placing the sperm closer towards my cervix helping the proses along. I read online about several others whom have had large amounts of sucks with this added method but just wanted to if possible get more opinions on this. If you have done this and can tell me a bit about your experience I could really use the info and and tips you may have so I can "go to bat" fully prepared. Thanks so much!

We finally got our BFP after 10 years of trying. Like you not a single positive before.
We didn't try iui due to my PCOS and endometriosis but went down the IVF/Icsi route.
I just wanted to wish you good luck and let you know there's still hope.

Hello! Have you seen an RE before? After a year of unsuccessful trying most women are referred to an RE for specialized care. I have no experience with IUI at home or at a clinic. Since IUI is not as expensive as IVF you may want to consider saving money and having it done at a clinic. They "wash" the sperm and make it more concentrated. Also a medical professional will make sure that it gets to where it needs to go. You may want to do a few acupuncture sessions around your O date to see if that helps move things along. Good luck and fingers crossed for you! Please keep us posted on your progress!

Isn't an actual IUI at a clinic a possibility? It should come with monitoring to be sure the Femara is working and when you're ovulating. Also your DH's sperm would be prepped and analysed at the same time.

Made, if I'm reading into this correctly it sounds like you just want to get that sperm closer up there, but not necessarily going into your cervix with a catheter IUI style.. If that's the case, look into softcups/menstrual cups - ladies will put one in after BD to keep the sperm on the cervix. Another option could be a product called Stork - google it/amazon; its like a condom and cervical cap that keeps sperm at the cervix. I've considered it along with pressed!

YES! Wifeybby that's what I was saying :) I have a cervix cup ready to go! I am receiving my medications and treatment via a dr I am just looking to help be sure a decent amount of semen is able to get as dang close up as possible then have my cervix clean and naturally do what it does. This will be my first time with using Femara and not Clomid and I am just trying to help everything as much as I possibly maybe able to do.
