We have a wasp nest somewhere and my dad thought the cold weather would kill them and it bloody hasn't. So now he's trying to get someone to come out to get rid of it but in the meantime they keep coming in the house and we aren't sure how. I'm so worried my baby will get stung.. What can I do? Is it dangerous? How can I avoid her getting stung? Argh help!

Does she sleep in a crib or bassinet? Get some mosquito netting and cover it up so she's safe front them. Other than that all you can really do is just watch out for the,.

Eeeeew. Wasps are scary.

Has your dad tried the local council? I know ours has a pest control section and its cheaper than using private companys. Way back when my oldest was born i moved into a council flat that was bloody infested with fleas and they came out and sorted it after i kicked up a fuss. The health visitor helped and i was not charged .

Oh dear :/ That would literally give me a heart attack. I have a HUGE phobia of wasps and bees. I'd personally leave the house and stay somewhere else till they were all dead but like I said, it's a massive phobia. But a mosquito net thing would probably help around the cot/Moses basket. X

Good news! The council came out today and got rid of them all! But it can take up to 48 hours for them to completely die out. X

We had a wasp nest in the wall above our front door. There is a crack they were able to get through. We had to use the back door for a while. I don't recommend it but my OH sprayed the crap out of them, might have been with hairspray and it worked.

Eta glad its been sorted! My council don't do this anymore! :(
