Just like with everything it won't cause harm to everyone but if you don't know for absolute certainty it won't hurt someone else's kid (because the research is against it) why recommend it? Why take the chance, when they don't need the water anyways, just be safe and skip it for now since it isn't needed

My doctor told me on Tuesday to give her 1oz of water if she doesn't go 4 hours between her feeds because she eats so often. So it can't be that bad.

ya im suprised if water is sooo toxic that all the doctors say it is ok? I guess im poisoning my baby with all the food and water I give her lol.

Gabbi has water now and again although doc said to give her some everyday, so does OH as it is very common here in Bulgaria. Yet in books, info sites, etc, it says that babies shouldn't need any water. Sometimes she spits it out and others she will have loads which I don't like, but she screams for more. I guess it's like us, we have thirsty days, hungry days and more sleep days, babies must be the same!
