Ways to get baby more 'engaged'!

Hey all,

at my MW appointment last week baby was 4/5th engaged!! Yay!! I know it's only a start so i've been bouncing on my birthing ball and trying to not cross my legs all week to see if i could get LO to move down a bit more, got an another appointment this afternoon so i'll see if it's worked at all.

Has anyone else got any ideas for moving baby downwards?

I'm not sure but the birthing ball is a good start they had me doing that when I was In labour with my first as I had to get baby down.
I had an appointment test with midwife and I'm 2/5 but can't baby move in and out? I'm confused to how low she is already xxx

birthing ball is fab for this, hands and knee's ie scrubbing the floor

sitting up right don't slouch, best to sit on your ball really

You can try doing gentle lunges with one foot up on the bath tup, it opens up your pelvis. think I saw that on spinning babies. Also you can use your birthing ball behind you up against the wall and squat on the floor (check out youtube)

Mine was head down at my 28 week appointment and at my 32 week one yesterday she was 2/5 engaged but I'm sure on the internet baby can still disengage xx

Thanks ladies. Well i'm now 3/5ths engaged! So one more little bit since last week, that'll do me!! Will try the lunges and keep on my ball defo. Although MW said it doesn't mean anything anyway i think i'm just target orientated and enjoy being 'scored'!! xx

how do you know whether you are engaged or not or is it only the midwife that can tell?

The midwife can tell by how much or how little they can feel of the babies head..

not sure when and if I will see midwife again.

Seeing consultant next week @ 34 weeks for a c section date (I hope) well I won't be leaving there til I get one!!!!

babba has always been head down at every m/w app since they started feeling her

at my 34 wk, she said baby is not yet engaged but making her way down there, had the birthing ball out since so hopefully thats helped loosen me up a bit. We shall see next week at 36 app!

if u were 4/5ths engaged last time and 3/5ths engaged this time is that not 1/5 less engaged that your last appt?, if u had been 4/5ths palpable and now 3/5ths this time then babys head would be down more?
