Other than adding puree to porridge or puree as pudding, what other ways can i introduce more fruit.

Lo is getting constipated so i think he needs more fruit, but we are traditional weaning as he wont pick food up and et it.

We do BLW but could you add some pureed fruit to yoghurts for snacks. What about some nice pulses and veg in soups. Los nappies sure are interesting....and regular after lentil soup!!! You could add lentils and veg in a mild curry. Also try and get Lo to have plenty fluids too to help constipation. Hope some of this helps.

Ooh thank you, lentils are a good idea! They always help me anyway! :) Poor child definately has my digestion! I love making soup so i could try him with a part blended soup as he's just started accepting textured food.

Will try puree in some yoghurt too, off to the shops we go!

We don't do TW, but I'd imagine you could put it in anything, right? So what would you normally make for a meal that didn't have fruit in it...like maybe some carrot and butternut squash puree? Just add some steamed apple before you puree. Or if you are whizzing up a chicken dish you had for dinner, just add some pear. Though really, if you are feeding mostly veg (rather than like baby rice and starch), you should be getting plenty of fibre in already. Maybe some cooled boiled water if your LO will take it or increase milk feeds for a bit?

DS was having major constipation problems last month. I had a week or two where I was giving him prunes at every meal - either in his cereal, on its own or mixed with his yogurt. I also made sure to offer water at every meal - I think that may have been part of the problem for us. DS also likes to eat peaches and plums, both of which are great at getting things moving. I will peel the peach/plum and offer it to him while I hold it. He takes big bites off and almost always finishes off the whole thing (once he starts getting close to the pit I'll cut the remainder of it and put it on his tray as finger food). Good luck!
