We made it to his birthday...we have been bfing for ONE YEAR! I can't believe it. My original goal was six months. We struggled in the beginning, he had a tongue tie, reflux, colic, etc. I almost gave up at six weeks when we were combi feeding, my supply was low and his latch was still bad. At 7 weeks he had his tongue tie clipped and we were EBF direct within a week.
We EBF direct from 8 weeks to 9.5 months when I finally got him to accept a bottle and started supplementing him with cows milk. He's one year old, and he takes 2-4 feeds a day. My new goal is to gently wean him between now and 15 months (give or take). I'm not setting anything in stone, so we may carry on longer.
I'm just so beyond thrilled to have reached this day!!
