Weaning at 9 weeks??

The weight thing is probably unrelated.

Milk has far more calories then most foods (not cake obv). River was 10lb at 2 weeks old and at least 13/14 at 11 weeks

yeah, I agree. DS2 was only 5 lbs 12oz at birth, but he skyrocketed in weight really fast, and he was only on breastmilk for 5 1/2 months before I started slowly introducing foods. he went from that small to being in the 90% for height, and weight, which he is still in. He's just big, going to be a tall boy. I didn't overfeed him, but he was a chubby baby. He has now run off most of the rolls and is just a solid, tall toddler. Chubby baby doesn't equal overweight children. most chubby babies will thin out once they are mobile.

Overeating once mobile, yes. That contributes to obesity.

Unfortunately it doesn't sound like they are likely to listen to good advice, but I'm glad you gave it! Maybe hearing it from multiple sources will sink in at some point.

I would definitely say something for the poor baby's sake :nope:
