Ok this is a question for those already married,

Im having a dilema, I have found 'The One' its stunning but my head cant get round the fact of paying £900 for a dress to wear on one day.

Was it worth it or would a replica cheaper dress do the same job? x

imo i would go for the one, but thats just me as i know if i didnt go for that one i would look back on the photo's and regret it. im the sort of person that if i have fallen in love with something, nothing else compares to it.

however if you find a cheaper replica that you like just as much, then i'd go for that.

I think it's really hard not to go for it now that you've seen it.
I had a pretty low budget for my dress so I didn't even dare look at the more expensive ones.
If you really really love it then go for it.

If you love it then get it. I'm gutted I haven't got my dream dress. My dad refused to pay for it (850) so I have got a cheapy dress I don't like :(

If I had the money I would buy it.

If you know the name and make of the dress try ringing up a few bridal shops, see if they have that one in stock, find out the price and then fib and say you have found it elsewhere cheaper. Usually that makes them knock the price down, because no one wants to miss a sale these days!

xXx

If its The One, dont go for a replica, you will only be disappointed. Have a look on preloved for a 2ndhand one xxx

what dress is it hun out of interest (selling mine )

My friend got a replica from a chinese site and it was gorgeous, couldn't hardly tell, Ill try and find the link for you.

x

Its a Christina Rossi dress in a fabric called Crystal Taffeta and its in a Pale Ivory colour....I really love it, and thats what im worried about is that ill be dissapointed with the fit, not really the dress just the boning and structure it was fab! My sister found her dress and got it from a Chinese factory and hers was lovely but im just not sure! No one seems to have heard of Crystal Taffeta!

I would get it hun if I was you. Once I've seen something though I have to get it otherwise, to me, my wedding just wouldn't be the same. x

Get it!! :D You only get married once and you want to feel like a princess!! :D
I was very lucky that the one for me was a bargain!! LOL!! xx

honestly i don't think i could have anything other than 'the one' for our day. i'm so totally in love with my dress, and as budget wasn't really an issue, we went for it. if you can, then i would say do it, you only get married once :hugs:

All the shops I've been to try them on won't even let me look at those above my budget so honestly, I'd say go for it - you probably wouldn't feel the same with a cheaper version (fabric isn't as nice, fitting not as good, details not as sharp etc.)

You can usually make an offer around 10% less, more if you dare!
All they can say is no, right :D
Don't forget to enquire about and include a fixed price for the alteration.

Then, there is also the possibility of reselling the dress afterwards. You won't recoup all of the cost, but if you get around £250 then that could count as a discount on the original price.

I got a 10% discount on mine and even though I asked for quite a few changes, like creating a sweetheart neckline out of a straight one, two buttons for hooking up instead of one, etc. the fixed price for alterations was £50 and they stored the dress in the shop until I picked it up for the wedding.

Good luck with everything! xxx
