Welcome to 'Trying To Conceive Over 35'

I was just about to ask about BV. I do't know what that is either.

BV is Bacterial Vaginosis and as far as I know it is related to an imbalance of the natural flora 'down there'.... there can be no symptoms and it can come and go whenever... it isn't harmful to the woman, but in giving birth, it can cause blindness or stillbirth in the baby....
Lots of women have BV in pregnancy because the hormones can be enough to throw off that balance.... I don't think I had it with DD#1 but because I for sure don't want an IV with this one I want to be proactive Just In Case.... with all the stress I've been under, I wouldn't be surprised if my 'balance' is, indeed, out....

This article doesn't mention the iv drip during labour, but there is a lot of chatter about that being the regular course of treatment and I just want to be sure the midwives are on board with NO NEEDLES during Labour and delivery!!!

What about eating yogurt? I know this is going to sound strange/TMI, but my ex-bf said that my smell/taste down there was amazing, and I think it was mostly due to me eating yogurt each day. I'm not as good as I used to be in doing so, but it does help the natural flora in your digestive tract, so I would think it would help the natural flora in other areas too? MAYBE?

Absolutely! it helps keep the good flora in and the bad out.... I've been eating yogurt every day for lots of reasons, and that is one them! Yogurt has been a good source of protein and dairy for me.... I can eat yogurt, but drinking milk is a problem... I have a lactose sensitivity and milk does a number on my system... but cheese and yogurt are fine...

Maybe, Ali, it wasn't the yogurt.... maybe you are just a yummy (soon to be) mummy!?!?! *insert cheeky grin here*

Ah, I'm so thankful for you guys! you make me smile!

Where is Coy this morning?? *things that make you go 'hmmmmm' *

Yeah, maybe...normally she's aready popped in to say hello by now...

Hi ladies! :hi:

Lol, nope, no baby YET! :growlmad: I wake up in extreme discomfort every hour on the hour and think hopefully "Maybe this is it?!" Then the pains subside and go away :sad1: Anywho dh is doing, um, every thing he can to induce me , lol! Hence I am exhausted today and got up late-ish :haha: My body feels like it's not my own anymore becaus eof this huge hard tummy and cramping legs, and just all of it at this point......I also have to admit something slightly embarassing...I bought elastic waistband jeans :dohh:  lol! Aaargh! Because to get jeans that fit is impossible at this point. With my other pregnancies I fit a size 10-12 around the lower belly just fine so I toughed it with those jeans. Now the damned things won't even zip :growlmad: and I have had to pack them away. I am sitting here stubbornly in a pair of stretchy jeans with one button straining!

Jess- that is an awesome article! I know most of it must be true because when I used to work out hard(ish) I lost my period altogether. I was cutting too much fat and burning too much energy. I used to ski constantly (cross country because of the added effort) plus all the weights, etc. Nothing psycho but I wanted to be fit, have a six-pack, etc....Anyways I lost my cycle  It didn't come back until my MW scolded me and told me to "gain a few pounds". :saywhat: It was hard as hell for me to gain weight! I mean it was easy but mentally a real challenge, I struggled with myself over it. After my mc in November my doctor told me sternly if I wanted to conceive again to "forget any ideas about losing any weight". So I stayed at my pregnancy weight (at that time). And the good thing is after babes is born I can concentrate on getting super fit again but not go crazy :nope: And you have an excellent body, I think the toughest challenge for you might be to wrap your mind around not working out all the time

Ali- tmi!tmi! :haha: No, JK! There is no such thing as tmi on bnb  How's the flu? Kickin' it's butt yet? I am glad your boss is letting you work from home (util tomorrow at least) so you can be more relaxed..

Phil- BV- my definition (ahem, clearing my throat) I believe this is where they swab you from one end to the other in a very uncomfortable setting with a hard Q-Tip :haha: Lol, they have to check for bacteria in your vaginal area so that it can be treated before babes slides his or her way down the chute, IYKWIM? That way babes doesn't contract anything en route to freedom! Am I right? I this the same as the strep test or am I confused??

So I don't get this....how far does babes have to poke her head before she just....slides out? I mean doc can feel her head one inch inside my vagina. That's crazy, right?!! He told me to cough or sneeze hard and she might pop out. :haha: I gotta say though it is getting a bit uncomfortable at thi spoint...

Then he excitedly suggested breaking my waters...he says "It'll be sooo easy for me and that'll get things started  But dh and I would rather wait until babes is ready or we absolutely have no choice...But this is probably a good safe alternative to any other induction method  if we have to g o that route.

EDD is tomorrow

Soooooo...my question is....if the DR can feel babes just ine inch inside the vagina....does that mean dh can too!?!? :haha:

Lol! Doc cleared us for :sex: lol :haha: I wondered that too....here's the creepy thing...the cervix and babes head can just get pushed out of the way, iykwim? Don't ask me to be too technical, but I guess, um, dh mentioned feeling it (cervix) but uh, yeah...
:dohh: lol! I mean, look at this image:

https://catalog.nucleusinc.com/generateexhibit.php?ID=8741

I have posted this link before but see where it shows +2 Station? That's where doc says she is at.......I have trouble understanding how you can do one thing while another thing is apparently very much in the way  Anyway this is why my hips are spread out so much! Look where the bones are at for crying out loud, and from doc tells me the cervix somehow gets sort of pushed back and out of the way but he can dig in there  and pull it foreward and feel that I am 3 cm dilated and very effaced....apparently he can reach in that 3 cm opening and pop my waters (shudder) .....

Good afternoon ladies! My temp was still up today 97.5 vs 97.6 yesterday. Although, I had to get up a half hour early today so I didn't temp at my normal time. Definitely think I Ov'd one of the last 2 days. DH has to go pick up his brother from the airport tonight so I don't know if we are going to get any bd ing in. We will see! HAve to catch up on my reading! Looks like there has been a lot going on! :haha:

And yes, dh can feel it too and it creeps him out! :haha: lol! The aspect of having one of your children right there iykwim? :haha:

Wow, here is another link but showing +2 Station at a different angle...

HMM.. I think I'd opt for the popping of the waters. That sounds like the safest way to get things moving. I bet that is what the Dr is hoping for by suggesting :sex: with your DH! Just poke a little harder!

:hi: everyone, nothing to report, just didn't want to read and run!

Coy, it must be close now. Would be good to arrive on EDD, very unusual for that to happen!

Good night all (yes, it is only 7.20pm, but theres a couple of things on the tellybox that I want to watch tonight, someone who works in my office is singing in a choir this evening, so got to watch him. For those in the UK, its on BBC2 this evening, a programme called Sing While you Work. I work for Severn Trent Water).

Wow is it ever windy here! Up to 60 mph. And since the farmers have just harvested their fields, the wind is blowing dirt and making it look like the Dust Bowl. It's so bad that I can taste the dirt inside the house - and oh the smell of the dust and dirt is so thick. Visiblilty is down to almost zero in many places. Glad I'm not going out today.

Coy, I had been wondering the same thing - why hasn't babes just popped on out if she is so far down? Hopefully she will very soon.

Jess - your temps look fabulous!

Ali - how are you feeling today?

AFM - It looks like I should O on Sunday. I've decided no matter how close the due date may be to our trip, we will go ahead and try. So, we are sending the kids to the park tomorrow and Saturday. :winkwink: Hopefully it won't be so windy. I'd like to try for Sunday as well, but hubby's usually exhausted after church, so we will see.

Ali! Shame on you, lol! :haha: I didn't actually think of that but I am wondering if Dr. and dh were thinking the same thing?? MEN! lol! I would not be entirely opposed at this point, ugh, I feel like I am waddling, lol, who wouldn't with a baby hanging that low? I bet if I squat during labor she'll just drop right out!

TwoToGo- it has been windy here too! Poor dd's we won;t let them play o ut if it is too windy and they get all stuffy in the house. Not bad today so I am going to encourage them out as much as possible  Tomorrow is supposed to be colder and windy :cold: And yes, babes is super low (I can feel with my own fingers if I reach in to check cervix- creepy almost! :haha:) So what's the hold-up, right?

Terri- wth is up with your chart? :haha: You have a straight line instead of crosshairs...I guess that means FF is considering it? lol! Crazy charts!
