Welcome to 'Trying To Conceive Over 35'

Ali- this is just a simple case between the business and myself. It's a pain in the butt. My attorney is a man btw, I think he's pretty awesome in what he does. I had to laugh when we went to mediation--after the judge adressed us in the court room he turned to exit into his chambers and Nick (my attorney) mutters loudly "Turd! Sheesh! Wtf....butterball nutbucket..." LOL! :haha: His assistant hurriedly reached out and turned off his microphone! Imagine letting the judge hear you talk like that! :haha:  I about died it was so funny..

HAHA.. :hehe: that is pretty funny! Well I hope you can get this taken care of quickly and make those idiots pay your legal fees. Has your attorney said anything about being able to counter sue? What happens when you need to buy groceries now? Do you have somewhere else you can shop? Or do you have to go into the same store?

Ali - Thank you for encouragement with my son. I think you are right and it's largely due to his hormones right now. When I got home, he had eaten and was in a better frame of mind - and so was I. He got most of his school work done and some of his laundry.
I did tell him he will have to get up early and finish his history vocab words. I'm giving him 5 more minutes to get up on his own and then I'm going in and singing loudly and very off-tune to get him up. He just loves it when I do that. NOT! :haha: Sometimes my daughter accompanies me on her guitar or violin. :winkwink: Don't think I'll have her help today... don't want to push him too far.

Well, Ladies, you always give me so much to read and catch up on!! Looking forward to seeing some bfp's and of course, my fingers are crossed for all of you!!
Coy, i hope that idiot who is accusing you gets one up the backside and how!!!
Ridiculous! If they thought you were switching labels, then the time to confront you would have been at the till! If the store wants to look at loss prevention, then they should look at how much it costs to pursue this, over a few dollars worth of meat which was purchased honestly..... sheesh.... what nutcases!!!

AFM I go in today for my 'biophysical profile' ultrasound on Babes... they should check that she's not too big for her gestational age and then they also check her fat distribution as babies with GD moms tend to bulk up around the pectoral girdle and trunk areas, causing issues with shoulders getting stuck etc....
I'm not actually worried about any of that... it occurs more with babies whose moms have 'uncontrolled' GD and since I've been able to manage myself through the day without insulin, and am only taking it at night, I think I can avoid many of those issues.
I am excited to see my baby again... she's been moving around so much and my belly shifts and undulates all the time! I'm pretty sure she woke me up this morning!
DH found a place and moved out on Sunday. It's been nice for both DD and I to just be the two of us and to start to regroup and get organized... He still has a few things to take, but he understands that he can't just show up, he needs to make arrangements to come get them. Already I notice a drop in my stress levels.... and I slept SO well last night!

I know I'm a little crazy, but I've started decorating for Christmas already, because I don't want to be doing that at 9 months pregnant!! The only thing we wait to do is the tree. We wait for the Junior Forest Wardens to start their Cut Your Own Christmas Tree program which they do every year. They are given a few acres of forest which needs to be thinned out due to fire hazard and they sell $5 per tree permits to the public to go and chop down their own Christmas trees! Kananaskis country is beautiful in the winter, and this tradition is usually one of my favourites! However, this year I will wait at home and let my DD and her boyfriend and some of my other family and friends go and choose a tree for me. I don't want to get stuck out in the boonies so close to my delivery date!! The Junior Forest Wardens do a good job of it. They have young wardens who will come with you if you want help finding a good tree, and they will chop it down and take it back to your car if you want them too! We always just go by ourselves, and usually I love to saw down the tree all by myself. After the tree is secured on the car, we go back to where they have a bonfire going and eat hot dogs, drink hot chocolate and sing Christmas carols. I love it! Christmas is my favourite time of year..... I'm going to have to think about how to keep this baby's birthday special in years to come during this super favourite special time of year for me!!
I hope this finds all my BnB ladies well, I'm thinking I might want to move the sofa and loveseat around in the living room.... and finish doing some dishes and laundry before taking DD to school and heading for the U/S!

Glad you are doing better, and I'm sure your son will be too. Things always look a little better after a good nights sleep  When will you get your results? I really hope that it isn't anything serious, but I am glad you are getting it looked after. Oh, and did you test again? So many questions!!! :haha:

Phil - glad your stress level is coming down, that is very important! It is also good to see you are managing your GD so well! Did you have issues with your blood sugar before you got pregnant? I ask because I don't have any now, but it does run in my family supposedly, and I worry that it will manifest itself when I get pregnant.

The your tree cutting tradition sounds amazing! I wish we had something like that here. Alas, we don't have any Christmas trees growing naturally in FL! :haha: They have them shipped in from North Carolina I believe. I do have memories of cutting down a tree with my Dad when I was little. I cherish that memory. I'm sure you will continue your traditions with your DD and new baby and these times will be special to them as they grow up.

:hi: everyone!

Ali...yesterday I didn't know my numbers from my hormone tests. So, my Fertility specialist is mailing the results to me, but gave me my FSH and AMH numbers. FSH = 7.8 and AMH = 6.3. She siad those were good numbers. Are they?

I hope to get my results by the end of the week. I still have an ultrasound to get done this afternoon. My doctor is really good about calling all of her patients personally with test results.

I will probably do another hpt on Thursday if AF hasn't shown up. I only spotted for just an extrememly short time on Monday, and nothing since. So, Fx'd.

Hi ladies!

Ali- yes, it was pretty funny. :haha:" Anyway, I am much more relaxed now that I know I have a good attorney. If it's just "'lil ol' me" the wolves seem to grow new teeth for some reason  How's ZOe doing today? Romping like normal? Does she ever pull Alpha on Zach?

Phil- wow, you are getting so close! Funny how babes makes your belly move around at this stage isn't it? :haha: Another week or so and she'll be so cramped you'll start to worry as she won't have room to move much and she will slow down--totally normal! And I am glad that you are controlling your GD- no worries  GL with your ultrasound--do we get to see pics??:hugs:

TwoToGo- I agree with Ali- hormones is a huge issue especially for young men at this point. At least that's what dh tells me :haha: And yes.....did you test? :test: Wait- I just caught your other post...Thursday?...:sadangel:...but that's a whole 2 days away...:sad2: lol

Jess- I am trying to remember the stats on those numbers and my brain is a fog at the moment! If your doc said they are good you can probably bet on it but I am going to research it for you anyway :hugs: If your FSH is: FSH = 7.8 I think that is perfect as from what I have read a great balance is anywhere between 3 and 10--so perfect! And your AMH is = 6.3. Odd. From what I have read (very brief research mind you) AMH should be over 1.0 but also anything over 3.0 can be considered PCOS- so that doesn't make sense. Your cycles are perfect so I am fairly confident you don't have pcos. What did they measure your AMH by? ng/ml? I am wondering if that is where the differences are at. BUT I think there are so many variables to deal with when considering AMH. First is age- and in that category you are strutting woman! Most women over 30/40'ish are looking at ranges between 0.20 and 0.50. SO I would say you are freaking awesome!! And have nothing to worry about :hugs:  Check out this link

Coy..I'm confused now...My FS said I had good numbers. I found this chart on a website. But I don't know how accurate it is...I am at 6.3

Ovarian Fertility Potential pmol/L ng/mL

Optimal Fertility : pmol/L... 28.6 - 48.5
ng/mL... 4.0 - 6.8
Satisfactory Fertility : 15.7 - 28.6 2.2 - 4.0
Low Fertility : 2.2 - 15.7 0.3 - 2.2
Very Low / undetectable: 0.0 - 2.2 0.0 - 0.3
High Level : > 48.5 >6.8

Can someone explain this to me...?? I thought I was ok...

Yes!!! Did they give you your LH? It should be about the same as your FSH. AMH is dependent upon where it was tested, but generally speaking anything above 2 is acceptable, and 6 is great! That would put you at the ovarian age of a 30 yr old :yipee: Also, the FSH should stay low, I believe under 9 is considered normal. If it is elevated, like 15, it means your pituitary gland is working too hard to get the response from your ovaries. So 7-8 is awesome

You are like me.. with great numbers even in your 40s. Count your blessings :wohoo: Not all women at 40 are as lucky as we are.

So from what you have told me you have a clean bill of health, and now you just have to get busy during your fertile times :sex: :haha:

There are 2 different ways the measure, the pmol/L and ng/mL, your results are probably in the ng/mL, that is what mine were. Mine was 5.8 in May, but was only 3.8 in Sept. Which makes me a little concerned, but he said that for my age and having a number above 5 was probably due to my PCOS, and so the lower number is better. Which totally confused me. So ignoring my Dr's comment. If you look at the numbers on the right, yours are in the optimal fertility group!

Thanks Ali...I needed to hear that. I was pretty sure that the nurse told me my numbers were good. But then after Coy responded I began to wonder if I misunderstood. I am about 99% sure she said my numbers were good. I didn't ask her about my LH. But she is mailing everything to me, so i will find out soon enough.

I really think I am ok and that maybe there was a bit too much mucus in my tubes stemming from my gluten sensitivity. But I think it is fixed now. And soon I will get my BFP...and hopefully deliver around BF's birthday (that is, if I get pregnant next month.) :winkwink:

Well the PCOS thing is something to consider. Not all women that have PCOS are fat, and not all women that have PCOS have cysts on their ovaries. It is a confusing syndrome. If your LH/FSH ratio is off, and you have cysts you could have PCOS and not have any irregularity in your periods. As I said it manifests itself in strange ways. I do think the chances of you having it are slim, but without your LH, I can't say for sure. If you get the value and it is close to your FSH, then I'd say you are fine.

Take a look at this website when you get your results by mail, it is what I used to figure out my levels. Now remember the results on this page are for women who had day 3 hormone levels checked. So if you didn't have your blood drawn on day 2-4, this may not help much. Scroll down to the bottom of the page, there is a range and an explanation of what each test should be and why.

I had it done on day three. I have never had irregular periods. Never any problems at all with my female organs...except that my uterus just did not want to have an IUD in it.! Lol! Well, I am feeling pretty optimistic right now. So, I am going to stick with my "too much mucus in my fallopoian tubes" story and put it all in God's hands. That's where it's been all along, regardless of all the research and testing I do! :haha:

Thank you Ali!! :)

Would I know if I had PCOS?

*The LH/FSH ratio will be off (not 1:1).
*You may have poly-cystic ovaries - but didn't your U/S come back clean?
*Your DHEA and Testosterone levels may be elevated - Dr's don't always test for these, you might want to have them tested, as they can mess with a woman's fertility.
*Obesity - clearly not an issue!
*Insulin resistance, hypoglycemia
*High Triglycerides
*High Cholesterol

I am inclined to believe you do not have it or if you did you would have a very mild case. You are simply too fit and too healthy!

I think at this point, it sounds like you've been given a clean bill of health, and its time to get busy :sex: Probably the most important thing for you and your BF is to time your :sex: the best way you can for the next 3 months.

If I were you, I'd get busy with BF :sex: every other day starting as soon as AF ends up until you start getting EWCM or a positive CBE, then :sex: daily until EWCM is gone and CBE is negative, plus 1 day after. Also, make sure you take the CBE right after lunch. I've read somewhere that it is best to take it with mid-afternoon urine. If you do that how can you possibly miss? Right?

Yep! I think you are good to go, I prescribed you a :sex: schedule. :haha:
You might want to try mucinex and evening primrose oil? Also maybe a baby aspirin every day? These things will help make your lining nice and hospitable and giving you lots of EWCM to help the :spermy: get up there. Otherwise, go for it!!! Then as soon as you get your :bfp: go in and have your progesterone level tested to make sure it is high enough to sustain your pregnancy. :yipee: so happy for you, I sincerely hope this is your month!
