Welcome to 'Trying To Conceive Over 35'

Update...i had brown spotting this morning. 10 dpo. Its too early for my regular spotting and i have never had it that color. Of course i want to believe implantation. I will keep everyone updated.

Sounds very promising JandK! Spotting around 9-10 dpo is consistent with implantation spotting  FX'd that you get some good news in another few days! :dust:

So...here's the 'State of the Union' for Melly.

Husband had his second SA, only two months after the last one. The good news: his count is up to 3.5 mil from 2.5 mil. His motility doubled, his volume doubled, and morph increased as well. This is progress, but not nearly good enough. His doctor, in so many words, said, that he's never seen anyone with his low of count get it up to the needed 10 million for IUI. Boo!!! :growlmad: His testosterone is not going up for some odd reason, and this is most likely why his count is lagging. The boys got some hormone issues.

Here's what we decided. He will continue to fix himself for the next 8 months. We will both continue with our acupuncture, organic eating, working out, but by-golly, I'm going to enjoy boating on the lake this summer with some cold brews in hand! Sorry...I can't completely go off alcohol. However come Jan 1st, if nothing, then we will have to seriously look at another option; whether it be IVF or adoption.

Though my doctors do not think this is a wise idea, and continue to press us to move forward with IVF, I've always been a "maybe next year" kinda of a gal. I guess I'm not stressing about it too much, and I also want to enjoy the summer and get all our vacations in now while we have the chance.

So, I will remain on the down low for awhile...popping in periodically to check on everyone's progress!! I'm rooting for ya'll!!!

Melly,

I can understand your decision, your DH's sperm are improving  so giving it a little while longer can't hurt him, but I do worry about you. I can't remember if you had a day 3 hormone test done? To ascertain your fertility issues (if any)? Also your longer than normal cycles could point to anovulation  I know you want to wait, and say maybe next year, but maybe you should have a conversation with your DH and look at things a little more closely.

I waited until I was 39.5 before I decided to start with ART, and here I am almost 1 year later and still no :baby:  I know that my issues are a little more complex (NK cells and possible uterine issue). That being said, most women by my age are experiencing diminished ovarian reserve, and it only gets worse as we get older. My FS feels that I caught mine in time, and my ovarian reserve was better than average. I don't want to upset you but if you really want to have your own child, I would seriously consider doing IVF sooner than later. Maybe give yourself the summer and start in the fall?

Just my 2 cents worth having been down this road now for 10 months.

:dust:

I do appreciate your two cents...for sure, as you have been through this. I have had my 3 day hormone test, and everything checked out. I do think I agree with you, perhaps let my husband improve his stuff this summer, and I should get my ovulation back on track, and perhaps consider all this in the fall. I do worry about starting IVF at 38...that's pushing it, I know. It may justify another conversation with my husband and our FS. Thanks!

Best of luck Melly! It is a tough decision, and one that you need to be 100% on board with. IVF is not for the faint of heart, between the mood swings, the headaches, the weight gain, the hair loss, it is crazy  However; it sounds like this is your best chance at having a baby (besides adoption). If it were me I would enjoy the summer, get your DH's :spermy: just that much better, and work to get your cycles where they should be. There are loads of supplements that can help improve your cycle and get you ovulating without using the harsh hormones that the FS prescribes. So you could try those this summer, and maybe you'll end up with a miracle that way  If not, then plan B in the fall is IVF. That is what Dr. Ali recommends :haha:

AFM - another day of chaos   The installers are getting loads done, my hallway is done, and my office is close to being finished. All that is left is the :baby: room and finishing touches, then tomorrow the carpet gets installed on the stairway.
I'm still doing laundry :laundry: to get all the clothes and the sheets cleaned so I can put them back on the beds, and in my closets. All while trying to work! FUN! NOT!
Between the Lupron that gives me headaches, and the antibiotics that is giving me the runs, I'm a mess!
It is almost 11am here and still no word from the FS office. Since it is 6 hours ahead of time in Spain, I doubt I will get an answer today :sadangel: I was really hoping that I would get an answer today, but I think I'm just going to have to face it, I'll be getting my answer tomorrow and then the FS probably won't let me come in on Sat/Sun for my baseline, so I'll have to wait until Monday
I shouldn't be so sad, I mean it is only a few more days right? I wouldn't be so upset other than the fact that I'm on this darned Lupron, which just makes me feel horrible. :growlmad: The sooner I can get started on the estrogen and get off the icky Lupron the happier I will be!

Hi ladies.

I would like to introduce myself to The group. I am somewhat new to this site (about a month old)and have had a wonderful experience so far. really amazing women. However, I just noticed that there is a 35+ area and I am so excited

I'm currently on cd 20/6 dpo. Anyone else at this stage in the game?

Baby dust to each and everyone of you.

There are a few others that are at that point, but I haven't seen them on in a few days. Best of luck to you :dust:

Hi Alicatt- Thanks for the well wishes. I'm still plugging along. Where are you in your cycle? Are you charting? Baby dust to all!

Hi Alicatt- Thanks for the well wishes. I'm still plugging along. Where are you in your cycle? Are you charting? Baby dust to all!

I'm in a holding pattern right now.. waiting for some lab results before we can move forward. I'm supposed to get them before the end of the week (well it is midday Thursday) so I'm like.. where are they? UGH. I'll either be repeating the tests or HOPEFULLY moving forward with my FET. They have me on this horrible med called Lupron, it stalls out your cycle so you can start as soon as they have the results. Still it sucks.. the med is icky, and the waiting is not fun! Thanks for asking!

Alicatt- I hate waiting for test results...hopefully it's the news you need to break the holding pattern and get you up and going again. I really wish you all the best!!!! Baby dust ;)

How many DPO are you now? I think you said you were 5DPO a while ago? I hope you are getting some good symptoms!!!
You asked about charting, I am not charting now, simply because everything is so customized with IVF and FET, that you don't catch the BBT rise due to progesterone supplementation, and checking CM is pretty useless too.
FX'd for you :dust:!!!

JandK- 10dpo and spotting sounds very promising!

Calling all expert charters- This is my first cycle charting. Im CD 22 8 dpo. I had a big dip in bbt the day before O then a rise, and a dip yesterday and a rise today. Implantation???My subtle cramps have returned and I keep feeling a gush effect (sorry tmi) down there, but nothing. Cm is creamy. I really just wanna POAS!!! Ugh!!! Any thoughts would be SO appreciated. Baby dust!

Sounds good to me! Back when I was charting I was hoping to see a dip around 7DPO, it is often noticed around that time due to implantation. You might get some spotting in another day or 2, if you see that, then I'd say you have a really great chance! I used countdowntopregnancy.com to help me with my charting and fertilityfriend.com both of them had great tools to determine your chances of being pregnant! :dust:

I understand. I'm 8dpo CD 22. I don't have alot of symptoms. Mostly, cramping, constipation, bloating, gas, bb's aren't sore; which might be a good sign. Last month they killed me and that witch showed her ugly face! I love that we all hate her, ha! Anyway. I've had some dips and a rise today. Maybe implantation? My cramps have returned...we shall see. When are you gonna poas?

Well, providing I get some positive answers this week, we'll do the transfer about 3 weeks from when I get the results, then I have to wait about 4-6 days for implantation to occur and for HCG to start rising, so I'm guessing about 30 days from now I'll be testing. Right in time for Memorial Day!
