Welcome to 'Trying To Conceive Over 35'

Well my period is due tomorrow and no sign of AF. We shall see what today brings. I am testing in the morning because i have 1 test left from last cycle. Yesterday I went to the beach for my sisters 21st birthday and got a sunburn on my face. The funny thing is it was a cold beach day with high of 69 degrees.

How do you feel? Anything different? I had some strange symptoms in the early days.. mostly pulling/pinching, bloating, and certain smells were overwhelming.

I can believe you got a sunburn! I've gotten one while skiing! LOL!

I'm pulling for you, will be thinking of you tomorrow!

I felt like that on Saturday! I think that is good news JandK!! I even raced to the bathroom 2-3 times on Saturday thinking AF was here. I had AF like cramps and wetness down there. I still have a lot more wetness than I am used to, but the cramping is subsiding. On Saturday I was 15DPO.

OMG I can't wait for you to test!

Grey Eyes.. can't wait for you to :test:

JandK.. can't wait for you to :test: either!

Chantal.. hope you are feeling awesome and ready for an awesome beta result tomorrow

BabyWhisperer.. where are you? hope you are feeling good and that MS is not too bad

Matin.. congrats on your :bfp: I am so happy that there are so many of us pregnant now  How are you feeling?

Angel.. loved the bump picture, and I'm glad that you are getting back to running, I think it will help with the stress. I always found that working out eased my stress level. I could pound out my stress on the bike treadmill, etc. Just don't overdo it!

Phil.. Your baby is absolutely beautiful, such a serene face, and delicate features. She fits her name.. Saria. :flower:

Melly.. how are you doing? Did you catch your OPK, I guess it will be time to test shortly :test: YAY!

I hope I haven't missed anyone.. if I did.

AFM.. This weekend has been a busy one! Friday night was our special dinner. It was a lot of fun, and we had a great meal. Then Saturday we went down to N. Miami to a huge mall called the Aventura mall. Vladimir needed to get 3 new pairs of glasses and he likes the store there, which is odd since it is a lensecrafters and they are a nation-wide store  So I left him to have is eye appointment, and off I went on a whirlwind shopping spree. I went to LuluLemon and bought 2 pairs of comfy pants, and then to Macy's where I was able to get 5 new shirts! Unfortunately I had to go up a size  due to my giant boobs! LMAO  Yes they have grown a whole size, maybe more. :argh: The tops fit my boobs, but there is plenty of room in the abdomen so as it grows I should be able to wear these shirts until maybe 4-5 months? maybe more? Plus the selection at the store down there was so much better than what I have up here in West Palm. I will have to go back!

After my whirlwind shopping spree, and Vlad's eye doctor appt, we headed to the Buy Buy Baby store to get all of his needs. We got a crib and mattress, stroller, pack and play, bottles, sterilizer, sheets, covers, bouncy thing, etc. We went to Babies R Us too, but it was depressing compared to the Buy Buy baby. We hit a Walmart which surprisingly didn't have much in the way of receiving blankets, or basic blankets and bath things. Which I figured would be a great place to go! We finished off the evening at a Cuban restaurant with his friends.

Yesterday was my friends BBQ/Pool party, and we had fireworks at the end! The fireworks were my fault. We were celebrating my :baby: it was a perfect day! I think Vlad had a good day, and he enjoyed my friends.

My cramps come and go, so does the CM, and I'm just being ZEN and positive about this little one. I pray nightly for all of us, and just hope that God is watching over us and our :baby: babies. I did another HPT last night, and it was only slightly darker than Saturday nights, but it is close to the control line dark, so I think we're good. I will do another one tonight and hope that it is darker. I know that being out in the sun could have made me more dehydrated, and I also did the test several hours later than the others I have been doing, so who knows  it might not have been as concentrated. I'm not going to stress and will keep being :happydance: :headspin: :wohoo: :yipee: about it!

Today is going to be a quiet day, laundry, and relaxation is on my agenda. My goal is to get all my laundry done and actually put away!

Sorry ladies for being MIA, but I have been busy and feeling like I just got off the Tilt-a-Whirl!.

Matin, congrats on your bfp!!! This is some lucky thread! I hope you're feeling good! :happydance:

Chantal, that is some dark line. I did the same thing, seeing a darker line made me rest easier. I can't wait for the results of your beta tomorrow!

Ali, that sounds like an amazing weekend! A bfp, romantic dinner, shopping, pool party...good for you! How are you feeling? I hope the ms isn't getting you too! :hugs:

Angel, your bump is precious! I wish mine looked like that. I am so bloated from Saltines and Gingerale! My boobs have calmed down though, it's weird. I have more fatigue and nausea, but my boobs don't look as big or veiny. Did this happen to you? It has me a little worried. Cramping has also subsided quite a bit. I get a twinge here and there, but nothing like it was last week. I can't wait to see more pics!

Coy, test, test, test!!!!!!!!!

Sams, I hope you're doing well and taking your time with next steps. It's not a decision to take lightly, but the 2nd attempt could very well be the one that does it!

Phil, what a sweet sweet baby girl. She is so adorable. She seems like an easy baby so far!

J and K, I am pulling for you girl! I can't wait for you to test!!

And Jess, if you have popped on to lurk, we miss you and hope you come back soon. This thread is becoming very lucky indeed. :hugs:

AFM, I have had 4 bad days of nausea and crazy fatigue. I have been sleeping, napping, eating Tums, Saltines, Gingerale and chicken soup. I have had to go out to a function on Sat night from 6-10, and a friends bbq yesterday from 2-8. I am heading over to my in-laws for another bbq and cannot wait to sleep! If I don't eat every 3hrs the nausea comes back hard. My boobs are not as swollen or sore, and the prominent veins have subsided. I wake up with nausea, and as a matter of fact anytime I lay down I get queasy.

Has anyone's bobs become less veiny while other symptoms continued?

My next appt in the NT test next week so I hope everything is ok then. My dh has told so many people, he can't keep it a secret. He doesn't call his friends, but if he runs into them he can't hold it in. I keep telling him 10 weeks is too soon to tell everyone but he's not listening. I pray all is ok with the baby because having a loss at this point would be so devastating not to mention having to inform all the people dh has told.

The good news is that my friend who is 2 weeks further along is getting her energy back. She's been luck not to have anything but fatigue, no cramps, no nausea, nothing! My bff who had her baby last week is in bed with such bad edema and hbp which she never had during her pregnancy. She thinks the loss of blood is making her body retain water so she has on compression hose. Poor girl. My other friend who is 15 weeks said her cramps stopped around week 11-12 and she's feeling better, so I hope I get there and experience the same relief. It's a werid consolation to have symptoms, but when one or two leave or subside for a day or two it is nerve wracking.

And one last note, all I want is protein!! AT this function on Sat I had steak, duck, 2 shrimp, and a pork sticky bun. No dessert (sweets make me queasy), no veggies and I have been better about that. I had zucchini, corn, squash, portobello mushroom with chicken yesterday. Omg I just want protein protein protein!!

Ok off to do some errands before the bbq. I hope you ladies are having a fabulous weekend!

BabyWhisperer - it sounds like everything is progressing as it should be! I wouldn't worry too much. Your scan next week will be helpful and then before you know it you will be in your second trimester! Only a few more weeks right? :happydance: As for your cravings.. I think it is normal to crave meat in pregnancy. It is your body telling you that it needs iron! I had a friend that practically lived off Duffy's burgers. So eat what you crave, and feed that growing baby!

I hear you on wanting to sleep  I am contemplating a nap right now! LOL! :dohh:

Ali sounds like you had an awesome weekend! So lucky! Wish I could have been in my bathingsuit in a lounging chair but it is still too cold here :growlmad:

Jandk and Grey Eyes please :test: today!pretty please

Melly you should be testing soon too :test:

Babywhisperer- So happy to hear from you! I was worried your ms got worse. I am glad to hear you are feeling better. Some lucky ladies only have morning sickness in the first trimester. With multiples the ms doesn't let up thought. My Mother in law said she had ms throughout the whole pregnancy with my dh. That is great you are craving protein! It's good for the baby. I haven't eaten red meat since my 41st birthday when I had a filet mignon. I love it but it makes endometriosis and fibrocystic breast disease worse. I no longer have to worry about that now :happydance: My breasts are tender but not hurting like they were on previous cycles. I think the maca powder and progesterone helped balance my homones and fix this problem. I had no pms or cramps last :af: !

No Sams, the reason I asked if you had spotting before your :af: is that it could mean that the corpeus luteum doesn't produce enough progesterone. Natural progesterone will encourage implantation. Especially since you don't have a drop when :af: is due. Some monts I had spotting but some months I didn't. I had been charting and ttcing for over 3 years since miscarriage and the first month I tried natural progesterone I got a bfp. Used it another cycle and another bfp. It can't be just coincidence. Coy had the same thing too! You can buy it on Amazon. The one I used is Emerita pro-gest. It is worth a try!

Chantal- No spotting for me. I have a feeling that this one is here to stay. I feel it in my gut for you! It's a wonderful event and joyous. Can't wait for the first scan!

Sam your luteal phase is not too short. Your chart always looks good to me. If you were having spotting before :af: I would suggest taking natural progesterone during luteal phase like I did. But I don't recall you mentioning anything aboutt spotting? Also ovulating too early is a sign of low ovarian reseves but you ovulate around the same time I do. Your eggs are fine  My FS told me the same thing about my eggs! I had a dream about him last night. He gave me a jar full of assorted hpts and asked sarcastically "Do you want to test and see if you are pregnant?" I took the whole jar but didnt test n the office but took them all home  Then I woke up!

Yes you are right Sam, God is in control and I prayed to him that I didn't want to just get pregnant again. That I'd rather not get pregnant if it was going to be another loss. So it just has to be good this time!

I felt like that on Saturday! I think that is good news JandK!! I even raced to the bathroom 2-3 times on Saturday thinking AF was here. I had AF like cramps and wetness down there. I still have a lot more wetness than I am used to, but the cramping is subsiding. On Saturday I was 15DPO....

I'd forgotten how AF-y things can feel! I've even been wearing a pad off and on out of habit/fear...partly to monitor (obsess over) the shade of CM, I guess.

Thanks BabyWhisperer, Alicatt for the congrats!:flower: I'm doing okay, still stunned, very nervous and watchful. sigh.

JandK
and Grey Eyes When do you plan to test?

I hope everyone is having a great week (or extended weekend for the USA)!<3

I only have 1 test so I am testing in the morning when AF is officially late. I have been on the look out all day for any sign of spotting/blood. Nothing. So I have a little hope as of now...

Ladies- I tested this morning but looks like a bfn to me....so...not sure why the whacky symptoms? Maybe I will test again later in the week

Alicatt- The only one you forgot about is ME.

Chantal- I'm going to try it out (progesterone) it can't hurt. How about the progesterone suppositories... do those do the same thing?

JandK- routing for your positive.

Coy- Test!

SAMs! OMG! I'm so sorry :sadangel: I think Chantal is on to something. Your FS can give you a prescription if you want to try that. It comes in several forms.. suppositories, pill and shot. The non-RX stuff is different, and I think it comes in a cream. Since you are seeing a FS I'd start there and see if they recommend it. Usually that us part of the workup, determining if there is a LPD (luteal phase defect) which is common as we age. The symptom is spotting for a few days before AF comes, or having 12 days or less between ovulation and AF. So if either of these things are happening, then I would get some progesterone!

BETA tomorrow morning.. trying to figure out what I think the number will be? My last BETA was 57, and it's supposed to double every 2-3 days. I'm hoping for over 200, but anything from 152-228 would be acceptable. Even higher would make me happy!

Alicatt- It's ok.. I was joking with you. I'm going to try the progesterone.
Can't wait for your beta tomorrow.

Oh well the weekend is over:( Time for work tomorrow. New outlook..... time to slow down and enjoy the summer.

Chantal- Do you take maca root in powder form or capsule?
Also.. when we first started you posted a plan for fertility.. can you repost? Thanks

I know you were joking but I still felt bad!

I was taking the capsule form of Maca root, the organic Gaia brand. If that helps!
