Welcome to 'Trying To Conceive Over 35'

Been in bed most of the day...I am starting to feel better which is good. Got a call from RE office today. They were actually able to freeze 7 of our embryos. They are rated from very good to poor. The girl said she has only seen 2 in almost 2 years that were a very good grade.
I had 2 good
2 good/fair
And 3 fair.
I am not sure what it all means but it only takes one, right? If my body would just catch up and get better....
I am not going to lie it has been very discouraging. I know I need this time to get better before we move further. It is just hard.

I always seem to forget you are Canadian too! Yes, the bears. UGH! It is very dry here which is why the bears are seeking food outside of their normal stomping grounds. I think all the berries are dried up due to lack of rain.

gncope, I am glad you are starting to feel better, and I hope it continues! It sounds like you have some good embryos to work with once you have recovered, YAY! So do you think that will be in time for next cycle or will you have to wait another? I hope that it all works out, and you have your miracle baby!

NO I do NOT want some greasy teenaged kid faxing my sperm donor request, LOL! It's a small town too.. :haha:

GL testing!!!

Lol, sounds like my town! When I first moved here with dh (he lived here already) all the women in town were telling him I was trouble and he should get rid of me :growlmad: Then, when Teagen was born they all clamoured around to "see".....when she looked JUST LIKE dh they were sorely dissappointed :haha: One of them even made the catty comment "I guess you're off the hook- this time" :saywhat: There are things I hate about small towns- and "talk" is one of them :haha: Lol, Ali- is there a new paper office in town that has a fax machine? Library? Anywhere more private?

I wish there was somewhere more private. This is a really tiny town, only 500 people live here year round, the rest (like me) are seasonal and are only here in the summer and I guess some come up to snowmobile in the winter.

How are you doing tonight? I noticed you mentioned thinking about post-partum workouts! Sounds great :) Maybe Jess can get us all moving in the right direction once we have ALL had our babies :baby::haha:

Ok...so I am absolutely going to POAS tomorrow with FMU! I feel so excited. I always here people say they don't want to get their hopes up but.............

TOO LATE!!!!

My hopes are up and I am thrilled! I am ready to do the :happydance: for real!

On a slightly different note...I said before that my breasts are sore...but it is a little odd...they are sore all around but mainly they are sore on the sides...close to my arm pits... Weird, huh?

YAYAYAYAY!!!! Jess I really hope that this is your month, I will say a prayer for you! Can't wait to hear what your :test: says in the morning. Good Luck, and fingers crossed, and :dust:

Hi ladies! :hi: I'm MIA at the moment, sorry!

I work in sport as a senior manager for a governing body (gymnastics) and things are MAD at the moment with the Olympics on. I'm off to London on Saturady to go to 2 gymnastics finals on Sunday and Monday and then I'm off all next week so hopefully things will be back to normal after that.

We (GB gymnastics) are having fabulous results considering we aren't in the top 3 countries for the sport so our work is completely hyper lol! :happydance::happydance:

BTW - Go USA as well, fantastic result for the women yesterday in gymnastics. :flower:

Nothing new here, just trying to relax and entice hubby into some fun :sex: as ovulation time is near. I think I'm on CD10 or 11, I haven't updated FF all week although I do keep it all in a note pad beside my bed:blush::haha:.

Speak soon, hope everybody is well :flower: xo

Jess - GL with the testing honey, your chart looks promising

WOW! I didn't know you were involved with the GB team for gymnastics. You must be so proud and so excited to be able to go see some of the events. Go GB, Canada and USA! Unfortunately our Canadians are just not doing so hot these Olympics, we tend to do better in the winter ones. I think our Canadian girls team placed 5th, which wasn't bad. Boy are the Chinese really good! WOW!

Hey All :hi:

So I last left you with my dilemma of trying to fax this stupid form to the lady at the sperm donor place in Toronto. After explaining that this wasn't going to happen she said, fine, just send me an email with all of the information in the form. Now bear in mind I had already done so with about 80% of the information, including the donor number. So I was like OK if I must spell it out for you I will. Well about 45 minutes later I get an email back from her saying that they didn't have the donor sperm in stock, and it would take 3 weeks for them to get it. :saywhat:??? Are you kidding me? What kind of shipping are you using, a pack horse? :growlmad: I also wondered how/why she couldn't have typed in the donor number from the first email and just told me that they didn't have it in stock. So now I'm freaking out. I'm on FREE injectibles, and am going to ovulate some time next week, not 3 weeks from now! So I say, I know you probably don't want to tell me this but are there other sperm donor companies in the area? She was kind and told me that there were 2 other companies and their names. So I immediately call around, and luckily there was another company that had my donor (the Canadian sperm banks are more like warehouses and get their sperm from the 3 major sperm banks in the US). So that is how I was able to get the same donor. YAYAYAY!! Crisis averted, and the 2 vials were about $200 cheaper from this other company too! They will arrive at my clinic on Friday, with plenty of time for my IUIs next week. WHEW!

So as if that wasn't enough, my baby Zoe (dachshund baby) somehow got a scratch on her eye and it is mostly swelled shut. So I think a trip to the vet is needed tomorrow to make sure there isn't any damage and to get some medicate eye drops.

Never a dull moment in my house! Think I'm ready for a human baby or 2? :haha:

Phew I'm glad you managed to get your donor sperm intime for next cycle, hope your doggies eye isn't infected poor thing.

I so can't wait for jess to test her chart looks awesome.

Afm managed to bd again yesterday and will bd again tonight,dh back at work tomorrow so not sure if will manage Friday as he works nights and difficult to bd in Day with kids lol.

Ali- wow, sounds like you had to work your fanny off just to get folks motivated! :growlmad: I am glad you got it all sorted though! Same donor as last month? The pro-golfer? Awesome  GL Ali- I am impressed, amazed, and encouraged by your determination and perserverance! :hugs:

Gncope- hang in there - sounds like you arefeeling better, I am glad :hugs: And your egg quality sounds amazing!

Jess- I can't wait to see your chart in the morning! And your pic of the frer (hint hint! :growmlad:) LOL!

AFM-- what an odd day it seemed  I have been exhausted all day as my cuddly little 3 year old has this routine of waking mama up 3-4 times a night. Used to be to climb in bed with me and cuddle. Now she walks into my room, whacks me awake, forces me (meanly) to follow her back to her room where she instantly falls across the bed asleep  I am starting to wonder if she is sleep walking :haha: LOL! Or she wants me to watch her get a drink of water by herself. anyway, it is exhausting and I am trying to talk her out of doing this all the time  Silly girl...:haha: Anyway this evening I got bit by the action bug and managed to destroy and re-build my living room somewhat, move some things out to make space, put together a couple of car seats (with dh's help wether he wanted to or not :haha:) and some other things. Took garbage out, did a load of laundry... Took a shower and was Starving--felt like a hole in my tummy  so I consumed a, um, substantial amount  and am getting ready tog o sleep it off now :haha: See all you ladies in the morning!!!

difficult to bd in Day with kids lol.

Tell me about it :growlmad: LOL! Amazing how "things" change once you have children :haha: Built in birth control

Tell me about it! :haha: Right now our kids are visiting grandma for a few weeks, but will get back right in time for the BDing. We homeschool, so kiddos are home 24/7 and hubby has a hard time :sex: when they are home.
I foresee them spending much time at the community park after they get home :winkwink: .

Morning Ladies, well, just a quick one again as I'm meant to be working.

Temps have gone down again today and FF have removed my crosshairs. I have abdominal cramps today, so I'm sure AF is about to show her ugly head. When the crosshairs were in place, FF did say AF would be due tomorrow, so seems like she may be right on cue.

Can't wait for you to test Jess, fingers crossed its a :bfp:

Ok my lovely friends...I tested this morning and it was a BFN! But I am ok with that. Today I'm only 10 DPO...it is still early. My temp dropped a little but that is ok too. I'm still feeling very positive...:)

I am out of pocket today in training so I will have to catch up with everyone later this evening!!

Have a FANTABULOUS day!!:hugs:

AWW.. Jess, I'm sorry to hear about the BFN. It is really soon, so give it a few more days and :test: again! Have a great day training!

Tracy-Terri why did FF remove your crosshairs. Does it think you weren't able to ovulate? I'm confused. My crosshairs stay once I get my period. I'm sorry that AF is about to show,

GEESH! You need to get a good nights sleep, that means not being woken up in the middle of the night by little girls who want you to watch them sleep! LOL. :haha: Sounds like you need to find a way to stop her from waking you up. Just think what it will be like when the baby is here and she is waking yuo up too! Fun times!! :haha: I hope you had a better sleep last night!

Got an appt for Zoe at the vet, but couldn't get one until 1pm. Apparently all the vets in the area take Thursday morning off! Crazy. So I couldn't get in to see one this morning.

Otherwise, I'm just hanging out, waiting for my follicles to get nice and big! My right ovary was giving me a lot of pain last night, took me a while to find a position that was comfortable.

Tomorrow I am going to go in for an ultrasound and bloodwork to see where we are at and whether I need to adjust my dose of the Gonal F.

My temps are really low this cycle.. wonder why?

Hi everyone

Ali: I'm also in awe of your perseverance. I thought about doing what you're doing and got very close, but opted for egg freezing instead. I have a friend who is the product of a sperm donor. She is gorgeous and brilliant (a lawyer) and just a joy to be around. FXd for you!

AFM (i finally figured out what AFM stands for!)
Ugh! So, it's CD 10 and I got a +OPK this morning (yes, I use fmu, shoot me;)). My darn FS insisted I didn't do any monitoring until CD 11, even though I expressed concern that I would likely react well to meds.

I called this morning and they had me immediately come in for u/s and bloodwork. I have one 23 mm follicle. We are waiting for bloodwork to tell whether or not I have already ovulated and cannot do the IUI. Otherwise, trigger is tonight.

The good news is that we bd'd last night :happydance:
But I'm still pretty annoyed that the FS wouldn't monitor before now. He didn't tell me to use OPKs, I just happened to try one today.

What do you guys think? Thanks for letting me vent.

Silly Dr's! I think I responded on a different thread ;) I do think you have caught it in time, thanks to your OPK, the blood work will tell you more, and I bet they have you do the trigger today and do the IUI in the morning. At least that is what I would do! GL and FX'd!!!

Twotogo- wow, you homeschool also?? So do I…I have my daughter enrolled in an online chool and she is doing soooo awesome! I have to admit it is a lot of work. I was homeschooled but after teaching me to read my folks made me do all the rest by myself  But I try to be there for her, you know? I try to be a “teacher” :haha: It is fun and I made the comment when we first started “here I am in college and kindergarten is kicking my butt” :haha: But she is 7 and starting 3rd grade! I am proud of her :hugs: Anyway, on that same note I am wondering how I am going to manage my college full time, teaching her full time, starting my 3 year old in preschool, managing a new baby AND French lessons?? Aaargh! Life is always a challenge

Jess- Implantation can take upward to 12 days sometimes after fertilization…so this may be an implantation dip. Glad you are keeping your chin up! No worries on the bfn- Ali is right, it is very early yet  Btw- No pic ? :saywhat:

Ali- I’m sorry you had an uncomfortable night. Our crazy womens bodies  seems like your right ovary is dominant isn’t it? I am so glad you got it flushed  What’s your next step?? When does your :spermy: arrive? Oh, on the note form yesterday. In a way it does make sense to try the $9,000.00 route…just from the perspective this will be your third try, correct? I know there are statistics concerning how many times sperm meets egg and how often it will result in pregnancy, but if you want to increase your chances I think this is a great way of doing it. You are like me- impatient and eager to try new methods!

FirstTry- Yay for bd’ing at just the right time! So your doc is watching follicles- if you do the trigger today will you do IUI tomorrow???

Terri-tracey- Stupid FF! :growlmad: They give then take away! :dohh: Sometimes doesn’t make a lot of sense. But trust your body…maybe this is bfp?? Have you tested? When did ff declare your ov day?
AFM- Oh, yes, on my child waking me…I talked with dh about this a month or so ago and we have been trying to break her habit  And the baby is my reasoning for it, I can’t imagine—I’d be up ALL night long :haha: She only woke me once last night – phew! But I feel kinda miserable today, my leg and hip muscles have been cramping and those girdle muscles are stretching very hard. Babes is growing and kicking and likes to stretch out—often lol! Anyway, dh says since my center of balance has shifted that I need to stop wearing my heels and start wearing tennis shoes :sad1: But…heels make me taller  lol!

Today….got my focus on the overstuffed dirty garage  Let me focus and tackle, maybe I’ll get it done, right?! When it gets real hot I’ll focus indoors….

Ok Coy...this picture is for you! :haha: I took the picture this morning with you in mind because I just knew you would want a picture!!

It is my BFN...seems silly to post it though...
