Welcome to 'Trying To Conceive Over 35'

Of course HE heard your prayers!! :winkwink: Mark 11:24....don't forget it!! And remember, He said ALL things are possible thru Christ...but he did not say it would be easy... Just hang in there and remember the promises you made to HIM! I believe the Golden Rule applies to our relationship with God as well as people here on earth. We have to treat God the way we want him to treat us. His Word says "Delight yourself in the Lord and he will grant you the desires of your Heart." Well, then do it!! Delight yourself in Him! So, if we want him to do his part (granting our desires) then we have to do our part (delighting ourselves in him).
Whew! Sorry...didn't know I was going to deliver a sermonette! Lol!

I don't remember much from my days of going to bible study and Sunday school and being confirmed, (yes bad Ali), but I do remember the feeling of joy and love that I felt when walking through those doors every Sunday. That with God in your corner you can do anything! Not to mention the stories that we read, and the lessons to be learned. Those lessons and readings are a huge part of what makes me who I am today. I would not want anything less for my children. I explained all of that to God last night, so maybe, hopefully, he heard me!

I do think that of all the months I have been trying, the symptoms I have been feeling are the most promising, but I've also had way more hormones and procedures done to potentially make me feel that way. So I can't tell for sure if I'm just reading into things or whether this is it? And I wasn't kidding when I said the lack of a decent reading on a HPT is driving me BONKERS! Hopefully tomorrow things are clearer.

As difficult as it is, you are going to have to believe that you are pregnant!! Show Him that you believe what His Word says. Mark 11:24...whatsoever you ask for in prayer AND BELIEVE, you shall receive.
Believe it Ali!! I will help you and believe it for you! :hugs:

Jess- yes, I thought about the bath long and hard and decided to skip it  I'll talk to my doc first. I wasn't planning on using soaps in it just a warm soaker bath... I am glad you managed to egt a week off to focus on your school  that will help alleviate some stress for you for sure! I know you want to relax this month, re: bfp symtoms, but I will stress for you! :haha: I'm gonna go stalk your chart here in a minute......

Ali- how are you feeling at this point? Aside from totally  lol! The tww is a killer and I know you have put everything you've got into this. You're a tough lady and I know God will bless you :hugs: Be careful with the coke though...that's stuff is addictive! :haha: Coke does seem to help settle the tummy though- but 7-Up helps too once in a while, especially if it's iced. I found when I got ms though that anything carbonated was awful :nope:

BabyWhisperer
- I think you timed things perfectly this month...No worries on not bd'ing yesterday...:spermy: lives in your cervix (especially with all the ewcm!) for up to 5-6 days waiting so you're good to go

All you ladies! :hi:

Thanks Coy. We timed it right last month too and got bfn. I'm hoping the preseed, acupuncture, CoQ10, B complex, baby aspirin all help us get our bfp.

As far as food and $$ I feel all of your pain! I know I work in an industry that pays a lot, but the food stores in NYC and Long Island are ridiculous. I also have food allergies like caesin(dairy protein), eggs, and shouldn't be eating gluten, but it's impossible to avoid. I am thinking of starting my Winter soup making early and getting started on a chicken with rice, lentil, split pea, and beef barley. This way I know what is put in it. Buying dairy and egg-free options means you have to go to Whole Foods which is ridiculous. I need to carve out more time to prep food and bring it to work, b/c midtown NYC is the home of the $12 salad. You can get street meat for $3, but to eat healthy here is a luxury.

When I get around to making my pumpkin breads for Thanksgiving I will take your addresses and send you some...heat them up, add a tiny bit of butter and you are in heaven. I really long for the day that I have a large enough yard for a garden like my 93yr old Grandmother...she grows almost all of her veggies. Whatever she cooks for dinner and doesn't eat, she cuts up and makes a fried rice the next night or adds to an omelet for brunch.

Ali be careful w/ the Coke, it's not just the sugar and caffeine, which btw your foggy/headaches could be from caffeine withdrawal, but it's also the food coloring...and as a rule I try not to have anything from a can more than 1-2x/week. The metals leech into the food, esp with acidic foods like citrus or tomatoes.

Do any of you live near farms or know of local food co-ops? I have friends in the city that pay a certain amount a month and they get a fresh batch of whatever is best in season, and it's cheaper than store bought produce. The farms like it b/c it's consistent revenue, and my friends like it b/c it is usually the size of a milk crate worth of produce.

Work is slooooooow today due to the Yom Kippur holiday...but the city is a zoo for UN General Assembly week. It's crazy in midtown.

I used to LOVE going to church! I agree, Ali, the feeling when you went to church every Sunday, the worship, etc...I was high on it all! In fact that is one reason I moved from Alaska ... Anyway, I spent years with this one church and was totally in love with it all...then one day I walked in to morning prayer (we were allowed in the church any morning just to pray, either the pastor or assistant pastor were there)and there was my pastor (my very married pastor) and the assistant pastor, ahem, um...:sex: .....YEAH. Sooo, then I learned that all the ladioes in church had totally misread my many hours of prayer and decided that I was the one sleeping with the pastor and they wanted to kick me out! I was stunned by it all, it's like all of my brothers and sisters had turned on me all at once. Want to know who didn't turn on me? The pastors wife :hugs: I felt so bad for her :nope: Anyway ita ll got sorted, the pastor uick, the church hated me () and I moved! LOL! Then I met dh and we have had some seriously long hard talks about church. We would love to be in a place wheer we could take the dd's every weekend, you know? A good place, a good church....but our relationship with God is strong, we have a very intimate relationship, all of us, and I think that is where the love is really at- right between you and God. :hugs: I am positive He heard you- He's been hearing you all along :)

Here is the pic of the Walmart brand from this morning...

I actually think I see it better in the pic than I do in real life? Weird.

caution: it is super faint, barely there and it took a lot of studying to see it, so if you don't see it that is OK, I'm still very undecided as to whether it is even there.

OMG my kids are fighting again! Who wants them? Ali? Jess? Twotogo? Babywhisperer? LOL! Skip the cute baby stage and go straight to rotten ornery kids!

O my heck, I love them but they try my patience! They fight over toys which is a no-no so I am going to go take them away :growlmad: We have a rule-- you fight, you lose, Mom wens :haha:

Aaaaahhhh...the joys of motherhood! :haha: I only have one...if he is fighting over toys then there is a serious problem!! (not to mention he is almost 16)

I have no kids, with the exception of my husband when he behaves badly (as Ali puts it) and his 3 younger brothers. Now I know why dh wants a dd!

BabyWhisperer-

They do have like a Farmers Market here once in a while, plus they have food banks when people really need it, at least one that I have heard of. I try to avoid canned food as much as possible for the reasons that you mentioned- I love fresh! Like fresh baked sqush :cloud9: OMG don't get me started on fresh pumpkin bread! And did you say warm with butter? Warm with butter is good on anything :haha: Ahhhhh it is Autumn...I love the Fall, my favorite season!

Ali - no, I see what is a very faint impression! And this is the brand I used and got a faint just like this- then the next day I dumped a load of money on a First Response Early Result and got my bfp! These blue dye wands have a bad rep but they are good in a opinch. And yes, I can see a faint line in there! :happydance: Worth getting excited over lady! (But I totally understand your caution!)

I think I see something, but it's hard w/ the picture. Did you buys tests? If you are pg w/ twins the hormone will double faster. Tomorrow it will be clearer. Just take a deep breath and have faith. I'm praying for you too. :hugs:

HEHE.. I may not have a DH, but I've had my share of men over the years. They are all the same in some ways (well varying depths of the same) the childish antics they have when they are around old friends. It amazes me how a 45 yr old man can go out and try to hit on 20 somethings, and think he has a chance! The insane things they do/try, then they think they are being really quiet and not making a sound, and instead it sounds like elephants are running through the house. Amazing! Or how a man says he knows you like the back of his hand, then I ask him what my favorite food is and he says Italian :saywhat: I HATE Italian (well that might be a little strong), but that is my least favorite place to go out and eat. I would much prefer to go to a Asian/Thai/Japanese place. Why on earth would he say that? Because that is the ONLY place we ever go out to eat, because he won't go anywhere else! AHHHHHH! So yes, I know how annoying men can be, but that doesn't mean I don't want one! :haha:

Thanks Coy and Babywhisperer.. it is faint, and I just don't know. I keep comparing it to yesterday's and it does seem to have something there compared to them. I did buy 2 different brands at Target earlier. I got 6 FRER (they were in the buy 2 get 1 free pack), but I had to search for them as they were almost all gone, so I pulled them all off the shelf and found 2 packs like that. I mean it was 8.54 for a pack whether it was the buy 2 get one free, or just the buy 2 pack! HEHE. Then I got a 3 pack of the Target brand. I read somewhere that they are even better than the FRERs, so I thought I would try them. Since I wasn't at Walmart I didn't get any more of the Walmart ones. BTW.. I did do a FRER last night and it was totally negative. That was the last one though, I only had the Walmart one left this morning. Maybe I will test in a little while, since I have 9 tests! Oh and I have one digital that I have been saving for when I am really sure.

Ok, I used a blue dye and it looked similar to yours (I either don't have or can't find that pic) the next day this was my FRER:

https://i1150.photobucket.com/albums/o611/greyeyes3/Feb72012005.jpg

Then the day after that this was the first FRER and the second together

https://i1150.photobucket.com/albums/o611/greyeyes3/Feb82012prego002.jpg

Then like 5 days after my FRER I tested with a blue dye and this is what I got:

https://i1150.photobucket.com/albums/o611/greyeyes3/Feb112012001.jpg
So almost a week after my first bfp...

So blue dyes are hard to get a strong line, even the purported early response ones. SO with even this faint on yours it's soooo encouraging!

Btw, I saved the image and just went back to it on a diff bigger screen and def seen something there!

Ali, just popping on to wish you luck, I see it I see it I see it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! trying not to get too excited for you as I know it's early BUT I CANT HELP IT :happydance:

I've some things to do this evening girls but hopefully I'll be able to catch up properly tomorrow evening.

Coy... that bubba sounds as if she will be here very shortly :happydance:

Twotogo.... rant away honey, and no I do not think you are being ridiculous, just trying to keep your family together and healthy.

Babywhisperer, Jess, Terri, I've so much to catch up on. Sorry, been MIA and also trying to de-stress at the moment:flower:

God bless xoxo

I hear you. I love my dh to death, but sometimes I just don't like him and that's usually due to him just being a guy. Most men take more time to "make the turn" after marriage as far as thinking of another outside of yourself, and how everything you do impacts others. He is getting better though, he went food shopping (gasp) last night and texted me to see if I needed anything. That was a major step. Like my Mom says, the best way to keep their heads out of the clouds is to put a lot on their shoulders. I know he misses hanging out w/ his friends whenever he feels like it, but his priorities should have changed. They are single and not even dating anyone, and 1 still lives at home at 35!!! I joke w/ him that if he wants to go out every weekend and get drunk he can be like his friend and move back in with his parents...he gets the point. I think it's just hard for us to make our own friends since we don't have kids yet that would pull us into a school or play group.

Praying for that bfp before my 37th bday (how did that happen??) in Nov. I'd love to be bump buddies w/ you!

Ali & Babywhisperer-

Re: Men. LOL! I feel like I got so lucky with mine :hugs: I mean he has his belching moments, and "I gotta watch every disgusting Predator movie ever" moments but he's pretty awesome! And I don't get this- he doesn't chase anybody but I have to threaten to kick the a$$es of even 17 year old girls around here! :bodyb: I had one that was an employee of mine, just turned 18, and HOLY COW! She actually bent over one day and wagged her fanny at him and said "Wanna play train? want to attach to my caboos? " OMH. He looked sternly down his Marine nose at her and stated matter of factly "little girl you gotta grow up and get some manners" :haha: She was flaming embarassed of course :cloud9: Then another one approached him and (right in front of me!) "Wanna go do it? You don't have to worry- I'm already pregnant" :saywhat: I think it's something in the water in this town. Horny pills or something

Ali- I actually remember reading something somewhere that said IVF's may not double as fast at first? Or maybe it was twins...sorry I can't remeber! But here is a site link (2x) that I found very interesting:

Here is a cool site I have been reading up on regarding the 2ww, IVF, and etc..

I forget to tell you all my funny story from last night. My two dd's went into the bathroom (amidst much complaining) to brush their teeth  They got to giggling in there and playing around to which dh and I both chastised them...then we hear a bunch more giggle, a huge crash, and a splash.

Yep. The 3-year old ended up in the tank. How stuff like this happens I have no clue. So we ended up having to shower Kat and change pj's :haha: They got in trouble of course...I mean how does a kid end up IN the toilet? She said she forgot to put her potty-seat on and fell in.......

Sounds to me like your kids are pretty crazy!

I've been thinking about your eldest DD. I think that by that time I had loads of chores. I had to set the table every night for dinner, and make my bed, clean my room, feed the fish (we had fish at that time), and I'm sure there were other things I had to do. So I don't think that you are being too rough on her. Once your middle daughter is a little older she can take some of the easier chores and you can graduate your eldest to other chores. Course I got an allowance for doing my chores, so I had incentive to do them. Maybe that might help? You could give her like $2 a week or something. Then she could save it up and think of things to spend it on! When I was her age that was the best, having a little spending money and thinking of all the things I wanted, and how long it would take me to earn it. Heck if she is smart she'll start offering to do more chores to make more $$! That was what I did, and I think I drove my mother nuts!!!
