Welcome to 'Trying To Conceive Over 35'

I forget to tell you all my funny story from last night. My two dd's went into the bathroom (amidst much complaining) to brush their teeth  They got to giggling in there and playing around to which dh and I both chastised them...then we hear a bunch more giggle, a huge crash, and a splash.

Yep. The 3-year old ended up in the tank. How stuff like this happens I have no clue. So we ended up having to shower Kat and change pj's :haha: They got in trouble of course...I mean how does a kid end up IN the toilet? She said she forgot to put her potty-seat on and fell in.......

Sounds to me like your kids are pretty crazy!

I've been thinking about your eldest DD. I think that by that time I had loads of chores. I had to set the table every night for dinner, and make my bed, clean my room, feed the fish (we had fish at that time), and I'm sure there were other things I had to do. So I don't think that you are being too rough on her. Once your middle daughter is a little older she can take some of the easier chores and you can graduate your eldest to other chores. Course I got an allowance for doing my chores, so I had incentive to do them. Maybe that might help? You could give her like $2 a week or something. Then she could save it up and think of things to spend it on! When I was her age that was the best, having a little spending money and thinking of all the things I wanted, and how long it would take me to earn it. Heck if she is smart she'll start offering to do more chores to make more $$! That was what I did, and I think I drove my mother nuts!!!

Ali- yes, dh and I thought the allowance offer would help, so dh told her we would give her $1.00 every week that she completed all 3 of her chores. It worked great for about two weeks :haha: She is going through a huge lazy streak right now. It's so odd though...For instance, today it was sunny and the girls came in from outside...T left all of her dolls and doll clothes outside though dh told her to go bring them in. Well we heard a crack of thunder and it started to pour rain. Know what T did? sat on the couch and watched! :saywhat: Know what my 3 year old Kat did? Without a hesitation she stormed through the house and out into the downpour to fetch our little Boston Terrier all soaked outside! :haha: Dh asked her about her dolls and she said "Oh papa- I brought them in ages ago..." ! I mean she shows more responsibility at 3 than the other does at 8  And we try really hard with T...she fails in her chores all week then comes to dh (yes, soft daddy ) and asks tearfully "can I have my dollar anyways?" Hahahahahahah! Oh man, but he tells her no thankfully. We're working on it! I have been looking for a chore for Kat as she seems to love responsibility. . . .I wonder if things were differen when we were kids? I had huge megalith chores...we had to climb down our 300 foot steep mountain to fetch water from the creek in 5 gallon buckets then pack it back up. Then (rain, snow, -50 below temps- didn't matter) I had to cook 50 gallons of rice and salmon feed for our kennel of Huskies. It took hours and was an outside job with just a tarpuline windbreak on one side. I had to fetch wood, start a fire under it and cook it. Twice a day. I was very proud of my job though and would get crazy mad at anyone offering to help! :haha: Kat gets that from me she hates help  Funny...

YIKES, she is lazy! Good thing that your little one isn't!! So if she doesn't go for the reward then maybe it is time to take things away. Just like you said you were going to do if they didn't put their toys away, or left them out in the rain. You could say.. well you left them out in the rain, so I guess you didn't want them anymore, so I gave them to a little girl that would take care of them! I think I got that lecture when I was a kid. If you don't put all of your toys away... :haha: man, the things parents need to do to get todays kids to do ANYTHING! Crazy. Some are good, but others are just horrible. My friend has 3 boys, 7, 6, and 4. The 7 yr old wants to help cook, and will set the table and likes to hang out with grownups. The 6 yr old! HAHA! He is usually covered in mud with a rip in his shirt and a scrape on his knee because he fell out of the tree he was climbing or the jump he was making for his skateboard was off kilter! They are as different as night and day.

I know...like just now we told T she had to finish her homework...she hadn't even scraped her lunch plate yet! It took dh telling her 5-6 times and finallytaking away the toys she was playing with ot get her in action. Aargh. But with babes coming any day now I cannot afford to have 3 little babies! So T will have to do her fare share or literally she will start to lose alot of things! I have already taken away so much stuff and either donated or stored away. I have totes and bags full of toys that they cannot have. Then they have toys I only let them play with outside that they have to keep int hese baskets we provided. It's really tough for her to accept responsibility. She goes running to her dad about how mean I am :haha: LOL! The other day I guess maybe I was sorta mean? It was breakfast time but she hadn't fed the dog yet (after 2 years of reminding her twice a day I'm pretty sure she knows) so dh and Kat sat down to eat to full plates of eggs, toast, bacon, etc, and T sat down to an empty spot :haha: She cried and said I was unfair. Dh told her if she makes the poor little puppy go hungry she should go hungry too...of course her breakfast was ready for her just not plated and put on the table. She howled and screamed for about 5 minutes but finally got it in her head if the dog didn't eat....My dad always cautioned us that our animals worked for us, loved us, depended upon us, and that it was our responsibility to care for them. They always ate first. Oh well, she is my frustration today.

She is telling me now she can't do her homework...because she lost her pencil.

LOL!

Ali...are you smelling baby lotion yet? Clean soft baby diapers? I am so eager to see your bfp and I just know it is around the corner for you! With all your great advice and your excellent work ethics and handling of responsibility--you will be a superb mom!

I wish! I'm working the late shift tonight until 9 (it is just after 8 now). My stomach is still very uneasy, been sipping on water and the coke earlier, and I just had a few saltine crackers. It is really not playing fair today. I wouldn't mind so much if I knew I was pregnant! This not knowing is going to kill me!

I just took another test, and this one did the same thing, kinda maybe a faint line? Possibly? If you squint real hard and hold it to the light and jump up and down on one foot? :haha::rofl::roll:

It wasn't very concentrated though, probably only 2 hours and I'd been drinking water the whole time. So I guess it was a waste.

And before you ask.. I'm attaching a picture.. This one is even fainter than the one earlier, to the point that I think its not there. BAH!

I dunno- I still think my periphreal vision sees a line! I didn't even have to jump up and down on one foot! :haha: We'll have to see with fmu right? :hugs: No worries, still early for the super dark lines, and please- try not to stress out! Did you pick up a FRER or just the blue dye ones? Saltines sounds awesome, and they do help settle a bad tummy. I have been steering clear of them because they spike my glucose  or at least they did. No clue at this point...

Well, made chicken noodle soup for the dd's dinner as it is rainy today. Think I might grab a bite to eat and slip off to the tub. I took heed of Jess' wordsd and called my doctor and he told me baths were not just fine but recommended  Who knew? I forgot though that laboring moms actually give birth in the water :dohh: but doc said no water can get in right now. Might make me relax enough for labor to kick in :happydance: I am still hesitant but I remember taking them with my other two dd's...*sigh" decisions decisions.....

Oh - I forgot- it sucks that you have to work late tonight :growlmad: I hope you don't have a long drive home. when is your next day off or is it not til weekend? You need to rest without the crazy nightmares! I hated the late shift but have def worked my share! My last job (I worked it for years) was management and I was supposed to work a salaried 52 hour work week and always the company dragged like 90 hours out of me! I never had time with T at that point :( But alas- more than enough time on my hands now! :haha:

Thanks for looking at it, I know it is early and I just need to be patient. I am driving myself bonkers! One thing I will say is that I don't have huge AF cramps like I probably should. The lower back pain is gone too. Now I just get these nasty cramps that last a minute or 2 then disappear, and twinges, and my back is a tiny bit sore, but just a little. Normally at this point I feel like my back is broken and I have to take loads of Aleve to make it through the day. That and a heating pad! Plus even though I was super emotional last night, and probably still am, I'm not grumpy like I usually am around this time. Usually I want to bite someones head off! :haha:

The good news about when I work the late shift is that I do it from home!! YAYAYAYAYA! So I don't have a commute, well unless you count going down the stairs to the couch, or down the hall to the master bedroom! :rofl My commute is SOOOOOO LONG! :haha: I'll be working from home the next 2 days too, that is the good news, the bad news is that I'll be working 10 hours days.

I did get some FRERs but since I didn't get a positive last night I didn't want to waste them. Plus I had heard that more people get positives earlier with the Target brand? I think it was on FF. So I will use a FRER in the AM with FMU.

I just had some popcorn, that seemed to go down OK. So I've had saltines, a coke and popcorn to eat today. That is just NOT a good diet! Hopefully tomorrow my stomach is happier, or I get a :bfp: and then I will be OK with my stomach being wonky!

It is funny I was talking with a local friend of mine and I was telling her how completely crazy I was feeling, because I just want to know! She said that this is just the first of many, waits and stresses I will have. Next it will be concern over whether my beta is high enough and doubling fast enough, and if we see the heartbeat and how many babies are in there, and it doesn't end when they are born! Then I'll be obsessing over every sniffle, and cough and if they are too hot or too cold or had enough to eat. In that conversation I realized that this is how I'm going to be feeling for the rest of my life! AHHHHHH! It will be OK though, because that is what parents do!

I posted it on countdown to pregnancy to be able to use their tools, check it out if you want:

That's RIGHT! :growlmad: Kids are a load of stress :haha: Your friend was right. Starts with horonal levels, what was that? A twinge of something? Good or bad  Then on to fevers, baby tylenol dosing, sniffles, is she breathing??? LOL! But it is so worth it to see oyur children running around...little mini-me's :) And to see them grow and be intelligent, etc. It's all amazing just being a mom :hugs:

Wow, super awesome that you get to work from home! Do you have like a remote or wireless that can trail around with you?

The popcorn and saltines...it's the salt that is helping your tummy to settle, and in fact popcorn is supposed to be good for you (otherwise Jess wouldn't eat it and I saw it in one of her pics the other day!) LOL! Just not too much coke, K? bad for ya...Try Sprite maybe? I always drank sprite and that helped although I am a lover of the dark sodas  Root beer is good if you get the right brand. Yay! for frer testing :) I am going to do some research on which brand is better--I did all this when I was testing but darned if I can't remember :dohh:

Wow I checked it out- I didn't even know that site existed! Otherwise I'd have been posting my pics on there a long time ago :haha: Looks like several have voted positive so far  Very cool, but there is a faint line...and on one of these blue dyes that's aweosme :hugs: I'm going to go research hpt's now....:bodyb: lol!

I only bought 1 bottle of coke, and it was the kind with sugar not high fructose corn syrup. I didn't want to have it on hand, if I did I would drink it. I do love my coke (well I did). That was the first bottle of coke I've had in a month! Been very good lately :)

Let me know if you find out anything about which brands I should be testing with, but then again, I only have the UP & UP (target) early result and the FRER's. I have 6 FRER and 2 Target left. I hope that gets me through the weekend, because I am NOT going to spend any more $$ on HPTs This morning I spent almost $30. GRR. I just have to get through the next 5 days, as I go in for my BETA on Monday. Why I have to wait until 17DP Egg Retrieval I have no idea! Well I did read somewhere that they count the DP from the day of the transfer, and if that is the case then its only 12 DP. But isn't that kinda silly? I mean normally the embryo has to travel down the fallopian tube and that can take days. In a transfer the embryo is already there! Silly, that is all it is, just plain silly and torture for me! HAHA!

Saltines rule! It's the soda water, pretzels are also good. I keep gingerale and saltines around for my tummy. How are you ladies tonight? Ali, stay positive and test tomorrow. Coy, you sound like a very good Mom. Tough love is what makes great kids and even better adults. My asst needs a swift kick in the ass. He's been here for a year and failed his Series 7 in Feb! And hasn't signed up to take it again and hasn't been studying. Ummm do you know how many people wanted that job?? He's a good kid, but his priorities are up his ass.

Poor hubs is still working, and to add to it...he's looking over my job offer. It's 2 separate contracts. So I gave him even more work. Afm, went to physical therapy for my foot...surgery was in April, bone has healed, but the soft tissue is still very tender and I still don't have full range of motion. After that I went to acupuncture and drifted off into this half dream state...felt amazing, all stress and thoughts just melt away.

Going to bed early, have a long day then dinner with my parents, brother and SIL since my brother gets operated on Friday morning. Say a prayer!

Have a good night ladies. Coy, get some rest. Ali, dream of bfps!!!

Oh, Ali- I was going to ask...have you gone back and looked at the test now that it has been several hours? What does it look like? Sometimes the line will fade but sometimes it will saturate into a deeper color

WOW they've voted positive? Maybe I'm not so crazy afterall?

I keep getting lots of cramping in the lower left side. Like right now, ouch! That hurts!

If anything it has faded. I think, but then again its kinda dark in the office right now!

babywhisperer- Thanks! And btw- I'd LOVE his job! And I would work and study hard to keep it...some people man. When I managed I worked like 90 hour weeks and had trouble getting even part-time employee to stay focused for a few hours! Some folks don't value what they have, or they take it for granted!

Glad you got to destress, I think I will try taking a long soak tonight, my doc gave me the  and said it was recommended so.... He said the water cannot get in to my cervix and besides the ambiotic ac is pretty darn sealed! :haha:

Ali- yes, several have voted both directions...It is very faint, but it is there that's what counts. And my blue dye faded :sad2: so it feels like you're losing a bfp but that's just not the case :haha: My crazy emotions though...

BabyWhisperer - I hope the new job is what you want, and that there aren't and scary secret clauses in the contract! Course your wonderful DH will find them  I've never had accupuncture, I just go for a massage every other week, but I didn't get to go last week because I was on bed rest and I'm not sure I will be able to go once I'm pregnant (at least not to the girl that I LOVE, as she isn't trained in how to do pregnant women, and the place she works requires them to have that certification to work on pregnant women). So I can keep having massages, I'll just have to find someone that has that certification. Accupuncture does sound interesting! Just glad it was relaxing for you :happydance:

Coy - go have that bath! I am finally totally finished with work, and my play (research about my current dilemma pregnant or not) :haha: I'm going to go downstairs and watch some drama on TV and get into bed! I hope it relaxes you

I'll be checking in on my phone if there are updates I'll see them!

Oh, I hadn't even thought about that! Its just the test, they don't last forever, if I took a new test and it was lighter and it was FMU then I would be worried.

I am cautiously optimistic about tomorrow, wasn't it Babywhisperer that said Thursday I would get my :bfp: or was that TwoToGo? Either way, I think you are right! I hope you are right!!!
