Welcome to 'Trying To Conceive Over 35'

Awww....:sadangel:...now I'm on , everybody has gone....:sadangel:.......:sad2: lol!

I'm here. I have been reading but not posting much this morning. I feel soooo  . I would get excited about that but DH isn't feeling to hot today either. :(

Wouldn't it be awesome if WE could be just carry the baby, but our DHs were the ones who got all the symptoms?

Then we could :ignore: them when they complained...
Something tells me our world would also be a lot less populated!
And forget the option of donor sperm!!! Bahahahahaha! Can you imagine someone donating sperm and randomly getting pregnancy symptoms when he least expects it?!? OMG!! Soooo funnny!! :haha:

That would be hilarious! :haha:

Jess- LOL@ your BF! MEN! Fantasy Football? Well, I guess that conversation went well! lol Btw nice temp climb happening, I've been checking out your chart. I know temps don't always mean everything but generally when you do geta bfp the temp has been and stays high

TwoToGo- maybe you're both getting bfp symptoms! My dh swears he gets them when I get prego  He starts getting nauseas and problem is it doesn't go away until babes is born  Stress maybe? Hopefully you aren't getting the flu or anything ... My fam just went through all that junk, not fun :nope:

BabyWhisperer-

I know FF just said your chances are "good" but with the bd'ing you did the days prior there is bound to be some soldiers in the waiting! In fact I have read that is often more reliable a method than waiting for ov day as there is no guarantee how long the egg will live. Sometimes 36 hours sometimes 24 hours sometimes only 6! So if only 6 then it'd take too long for ov day :spermy: to get there :nope: So it's better that you bd'd the days prior  Especially those girl sperm waiting in the wings, I guess the girls live longer  We're just tougher :smug: lol!

I'm back, grabbed a mexican salad from across the street from my bldg...midtown is still a joke due to the UN General Assembly. I always crave spice 7-10days before af. I have a spice problem, today I bit off more than I could chew...literally. I was starving and put habanero sauce on my mexi salad...lips on fire! :haha:

Sorry to hear about your discomfort, but she'll be out of there soon, and there's no going back in! How awesome would it be for you to deliver the same day as Ali's awesome beta that we all know she's gonna get! I don't think I could stand the excitement. I love the symmetry of it...1 cycle ends as another begins.

Ok I'll stop waxing poetic. How is everyone else? Terri, Angel, twotogo. lucaswood??

Any reason FF says my testing date is 10/13 when af is due anywhere from the 5th to the 9th? Last af was 9/9 and 26 days. That would be a 34dc and 19dpo. Hmmm.

Thanks for the encouragement, it's just frustrating that we didn't bd on O day.

I'm not positive but I think FF prefers us to test about 3-4 days after AF is late  Screw that, right?! I'd be testing , like, 5 days early and getting huge bfn's all the way! :dohh: Mmmm for the habanero sauce btw!

I totally forgot about this:

5-DAY TRANSFER:
-1dpt ..embryo is growing and developing
0dpt... Embryo is now a blastocyst
1dpt....Blastocyst hatches out of shell on this day
2dpt.. Blastocyst attaches to a site on the uterine lining
3dpt.. Implantation begins,as the blastocyst begins to bury in the lining
4dpt.. Implantation process continues and morula buries deeper in the lining
5dpt.. Morula is completely inmplanted in the lining and has placenta cells & fetal cells
6dpt...Placenta cells begin to secret HCG in the blood
7dpt...More HCG is produced as fetus develops
8dpt...More HCG is produced as fetus develops
9dpt...HCG levels are now high enough to be immediately detected on HPT

And if I was late at any of those stages, then maybe the HCG isn't percolating as fast as it should be? So I am going to wait until Saturday/Sunday to test, I'll be 10/11DPT then. So hopefully I see a :bfp:

My head is killing me and I'm hot sweaty and chilled, having a hot flash I believe. Are hot flashes normal in pregnancy or is this the insane hormones I'm taking?

BTW.. Jess you had me  with the DH giving birth.. HAHAHAHA Like that would ever happen! The world would be extinct! That and the FF reference, yes, no wonder he suggested watching the game tonight. That is also another  moment. Men! So not in touch with their feminine side. :haha:

Coy! Glad you are doing OK, and will post on bnb as soon as the baby is born. We'll want pictures too! :happydance:

BabyWhisperer wow, spicy food? That just makes me want to  Funny how we all crave different things!

Sorry to be so brief, but I have work piling up and I don't want to have to work a 10 hour day! I will continue to read your posts though, so be chatty! It helps me get through the day listening to everyone and how you are all doing! LOVE IT :)

Yes, hot flashes are common in pregnancy. Oy, just thinking about them makes me want to hurl...

Ali- yes, I got hot and cold flashes. I bet if you took your temp right now it'd be slightly elevated.....Just wondering? Mine would jump to like 99.something and stay there  I have heard it is very common. Yikes! Don't let your work pile up! That's what I've been doing

Jess-- just out of curiosity have you tested your temp during the day for a while? I knwo you did last week and it was high, so it has me curious

TwoToGo- I hope you get feeling better soon!

Wow, sorry if this makes ya'll  but the Mexican food sounds like heaven right now! Mmmmm....When I lived in Utah there were always street vendors..I know, I know, not supposed to eat from them but  it was GOOD! :haha:

https://voices.yahoo.com/common-signs-symptoms-positive-pregnancy-7033822.html

Ali- check out this link above...it actually has some very positive and useful info on the differences in pregnancy symptoms between regular bd'ing and IVF that are/can be experienced by women. I was surprised to read that your bbt can actually commonly drop during pregnancy with IVF! Wow, I had no clue. And it says your pg symptoms will appear much earlier but not to symptom spot so much you drive yourself wonky :haha: Pretty hard not to do, huh?

Coy...I have not tested my temps during the day again. I drink so much cold water and Crystal light that it is never a good time.

BTW, I have not worked out today!! And all I did yesterday and the day before was an hour on the bike! Can you believe it!?!? I feel like a whale!! Lol! My thesis has absolutely been my priority lately...

I love Mexican, and Thai, Indian, Korean, Malaysian...anything with complex flavors and spice. I got my husband into all those foods too, now he craves Indian a lot.

Confession time: I was prego once, I was 20 and on bcp since I had very very bad cramps. I had walking pneumonia and was sick as a dog. They put me on an antibiotic, cough syrup with vicodin, and a steroid. When I found out I was pg I cried b/c I knew I had been on some serious medication for weeks. I went to my obgyn and he conferred with my GP and they said what I was on was too risky with defects. Both my bf and I cried for days. It was the hardest and saddest thing that left me scarred for life and thinking at some point it would come back to haunt me. I had and still have tremendous guilt. I hope I haven't missed out on my only chance. What I remember from that time was being sick 24/7 and not being able to eat anything but saltines which made taking my medication so difficult. I sometimes wish I could go back.

Silly Jess- a whale? Seriously? I mean, have you looked at my latest pic? You probably feel like if you don't burn burn burn you're going to blimp. It doesn't happen that way! BUT you may be feeling the efefcts of simply not sweating like hell too- lol! I think it's awesome that oyu are breaking just a little bit. And yes- your thesis is very important, I am glad you are taking the time to work on it  When it gets to be a drag just take a break! For some reason I always found that mutli-tasking my brain helped...I have to have like 8 pages pulled up on my computer containing at least 3 different subjects and holding at least one converstaion! Then I can blast out my work  not sure what the psychology behind that is! Whatever works! Don't let my chatting distract you [-X

But that wasn't your fault- you didn't know! I have done crazy stuff too and then later realized omg I'm pregnant! and then I stress and obsess that I might have done something to harm the baby. My first pregnancy was an mc and everything was totally normal...it just happened. My second pregnancy I was actually on bc  for some weeks before we realized I was prego. That was our first dd. No, it hasn't changed anything or cursed you or anything like that- it's just normal life. Unfortunately life packs a lot of junk with it that we have to sort through :growlmad: and I always found that it's best to dig through it and pusho forward--just like you have done. It's no help to look back, and there's nothing you really could havedone differently. God will give you your baby! and when He does the timing will be perfect.

Now, that's not to say you'll have the perfect house and yard, or enough money  THAT never happens! :haha: When youare at your wits end, then it happens  LIFE. roll:

I appreciate that. It was such a traumatic experience. Dh can identify b/c he got his ex-gf prego and they were together for 6yrs. She didn't want it, wasn't ready. It crushed him, but looking back he thinks it was the right decision. His ex had quite a few problems to say the least.

Timing would be interesting as I'm pretty sure I am in for another wave of change. But in my mind, anytime would be perfect. I long for a larger purpose outside of myself. I would love a child with my husbands beautiful blue eyes to look up at me...nothing would be better. And it would get my parents off my back! My Mom is already talking FS!

OMG! OMG! OMG!

This article describes how I'm feeling to a tee!

Especially the night sweats, and the lower temps. I have been cheating at my BBT because they are so low (not below cover, but lower then I think they should be). So I've been taking my temp after I get up to go pee too, and using that one. Bad Ali! This morning it was 97.51, and it has been around that level for the last 4 days.
When I woke this morning the sheets were soaked and I was sweating, and so I thought for sure my temp would be high, bunt nope :nope: 97.51 I have had a headache on and off for a few days too. Plus up until today I've had cramping and funkiness. The cramps don't last long, only a few minutes and then its like they never happened. Like a sneak attack :ninja:

OK, so maybe I'm not out? Freaking insanity, that is all I can say. I just hope I survive until Monday without having to be committed to a rubber room!

LOL! Well, if they commit you to a rubber room they'll let you back out once your bfp registers! :haha:

K, one hour to my doctor appointment....:coffee:....I am thinking with all the stabbing pains I've been getting I should be dilated at least to 3  but I have no clue. Damn well better be :growlmad: LOL! We women expect the world, right? No, I just want all this pain and discomfort to have some signs!! My hips hurt, my *AHEM* hurts :haha:, my leg muscles hurt...*sigh* and I gotta look forward to a lot more hurt before I get to meet gorgeous!

ME TOO!

I am feeling much better about being PG after reading that article, and I'm going to be good and just not test for a few days. Thanks Coy!! You are the best  Hope all goes well at the Dr's appt!

Hi ladies :hi:

Took me awhile to get back to the computer I had to go shopping  and cook dinner first. I made enchiladas but they're so hot I'm waiting for them to cool a bit :)

Doctor's visit: I am still just barely at 3 cm in dilation, between 2 and 3. Nuts! But doc told me that is not so much a deciding factor in labor--because I can go from 2 to 10 in a matter of minutes! So- cool. And I am 80% effaced  sweet! Then when he, ahem, reached in  to check further he was shocked-- he said she is fully engaged and literally 5 cm from crowning! So he warned me that she could take a week or so or could be born tonight. And he told me to expect my labor to be extremely quick as she is so very low-- so I am guessing she is more than ready to be out! Just a matter of waiting for those damned contractions! :growlmad: LOL!

Oh, he was so awesome about it all though. The more we plan the happier I am with him as our doctor this time around. He is very quick witted and analytical but still does everything in a vry natural maner. He asked about a birth plan and I told him "the quickest route possible" :haha: He wanted details on how I wanted to be positioned, etc, and for some reason elevated on my left side they pop right out  so we'll try that....also he asked me if I wanted babes to be rushed straight to me for "skin time" and to nurse but he was very relieved when I told him to make sure she was perfect first! The way I look at it I have had 9 months or more of skin time...I want to make sureshe is not in distress, make sure her lungs are clear (Teagen had over a cup of fluid that had to be sucked out!) etc. Anyway he was very happy about that.

Now dh and I are just waiting :coffee:

AHHHHH! I can't take it anymore.. Coy how did your appointment at the Dr. go?

So it doesn't sound like you will go to term, probably Monday! Or tomorrow?

I say Monday because I like VabyWhisperer's thought that its a circle of life. That would be cool!

Fell asleep on the couch earlier, woke up to some mild cramping, I really don't feel like AF is coming, so that is positive!

Going to bed now...
