Welcome to 'Trying To Conceive Over 35'

AFM-

Still tired but actually managed to get some rest last night in between feeds  I was worried about her not eating enough...newborns are so delicate, you know? So I was a naughty mommy :haha: and I woke her up every 2 hours to eat wether she wanted it or not. I am going to try to establish that as a pretty solid routine if I can. And know what's cool? She has started fussing now about every 2- 2.5 hours and instead of just eating a partial on one breast she is consuming both breasts! AND I have started leaking too so my production is more than keeping up :happydance: I want ehrto start gaining weight this week, I know they generally lose weight the first week but I want to do what I can to give her a boost in the right direction.

Today we have to take her in to the hospital to have her umbilical cord clip removed  Be glad to get that annoying thing out of the way! Also- dh and I are a bit (pardon my languaged) pissed at the hospital staff. I went inn early remember to fill out all the paper work so we wouldn't get swamped? Well, the bee-otch deliberately with-held 2 clipboards full of paperwork! And she told me that all we would have to fill out is one paper with babes name on it for the birth certificate :growlmad: and wouldn't you know it we ended up having to deal with tons of paperwork...I was so exhausted and so was dhat that point- he forgot babes name :haha: Anyway, then they had blood work for Aeryn...and when we got home theycalled to say they never did it! Which they did- we were ther watching  I think they lost it so now we have to re-do it :sad1: Aaargh.

And the dd's were soo awesome! T read to Kat while we delivered the baby, they were so good! Until Kat found out we may spend the night in hospital annd she got homesick and cried...sowe came home early :) All is well though, babes is an eating/pooping maching atm:haha:

More later ladies! Gonna go catch up on moree posts!

You are a trooper! I don't get why they didn't have the paperwork thing figured out, is it their first rodeo? Happy she is eating and pooping!! Can't wait to see more pics. Have you told your Mom yet?

Coy, I am a total schedule mommy so GOOD JOB!!!!! YESS!!!! the sooner she gets on a schedule, the longer she will sleep, the happier she will be, AND (most importantly) the happier you will be! Sorry for all the hospital drama. These people...don't you wonder how they got these jobs?? ugh. Well, enjoy. You are doing awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks ladies! :hugs:

Babywhisperer- yep, looks like their first rodeo :haha: LOL! Ah well...we will be heading to the hospital in a bout an hour to have her clip removed  Happy to be doing that as those clips make me nervous 8-[ ...8DPO and your chart is still looking fabulous...when do you plan on testing  or will you wait :nope: (hint hint :haha:)

Babydust- I like schedules too--I read online that if they sleep long- lucky mom, but I get worried, I'd rather lose sleep over feeding her than lose sleep over worrying too much! :) You're still at or above your cover line on 8dpo...are you planning to test ?? Sorry I have been a bit MIA, I think about you ladies all the time :hugs: I wanted to post while in the hospital but no connection w/my phone :nope: I gotta upgrade! :haha:

Just got back fromt he store...had to get some basic things is all...I am seriously pooped though! Very ligthheaded...wonder if it's from blood loss? My 8 year old wondered why I didn't pick up some extra blood while I was out  KIDS! :haha:

Aliiiiiii!!!! I missed you! :hugs: Exactly 2 weeks until your Nov 9.....or will theystart sooner? How are you feeling? I bet that stupid flu still has you drug out :sad1: Try to rest up and get better!

I missed you too!

I start the Lupron injections on Nov 9th, then the stims start on Nov 26th. So I was supposed to have the culposcopy on Halloween, but my OBGYN's office called to say that I couldn't have it done then because my insurance won't cover it (the Dr has been renegotiating their contract with my insurance). The insurance won't cover it until Nov 15th, but I'll have my period then, so I have to wait until Nov 21st. AHHHHH... I wanted to get it done way before everything else, but that is the soonest they can schedule it. I guess I could still have it done on Oct 31st, but it would cost me $573, if I wait, its covered and I just pay the $50 deductible. So, I'm going to wait.
I am still annoyed about the IVF Meds people, they were supposed to ship my drugs, but still nothing, now I'm not sure when they will get here! AHHH.. if they don't ship soon I'm going to have to get them from the US company and then they are 2x the price! :growlmad:
I'm not going to worry about it right now, I have a glass of baileys, a movie to watch and 2 little doggies to cuddle with, plus its my baby Zoe's birthday tomorrow, she is going to be 10! OMG, can't believe she is that old. On a scarier note, I am taking her in for minor surgery on Monday. She needs her teeth cleaned, and she has a lump on her shoulder that has been getting slightly bigger so they are going to remove that too. I am sure it will be OK, but its still scary when your baby (well dog baby) has to have surgery!

Coy -- so happy that you and Aeryn are doing well! Hope the appointment to get the clip removed goes well, and that the blood work gets done! Too funny about your DD thinking you could just pick up some blood at the store. :haha: It is also good that she is getting on a schedule and eating and pooping and all that stuff! Do the DD's want to help? Hold Aeryn? I'm sure they will in time. Post more pictures!!! :baby:

Ali- yep the hospital visit went fine- except the stupid lab tech p'd me off right from the beginning. First thing she did was indicate that we would have to come in for more blood work later. :saywhat: Then she didn't know what we were testing for so I angrily informed her if she didn't know then we would simply come back next week- so she hustled and got her info together  I mean come ON- these people should know....Anyway then she started yelling everything like I was deaf or something and she scared Aeryn who also started to scream. So I took my usual stance and attitude- and told her rudely to shut her face and stop screaming at me or we were going to leave. Heh-heh! Worked well too...

Yes, the dd's want to help with everything but diapers :haha: So naturally they have to note diapers to the pail  Am I mean or what :haha: They are very interested and attentive, they love her very much already :cloud9:

Well, off I go to do school assignments  lol!

Good morning ladies! dh is supposed to come home today and I sooooo can't wait! Praying his flight is able to leave in spite of Sandy and for safe travels!

Get this...my dd...who is 3yo and extremely curious is sitting watching a movie yesterday and then says "oops, I swallowed it" I ran over and said "what did you swallow????" she shows me that the little metal crank to her jewelry box is missing! I called poison control and they said as long as she's not choking and acting normal it will probably pass through in the next 2 days. But if she has stomach pains it will be off to the ER...ay yi yi... dh cannot get home soon enough!

I'm all out of FRER's so I need to get to the store and stock up. LOTS of creamy cm this morning so it's got me excited:) Plus, I went to bed at 7pm last night again. I woke up briefly at 10:45 and was back to sleep again by 11:30. I NEVER sleep this much. The last time I slept this much...well, I was pg with ds.:sleep::haha:

Got lots of cleaning and cooking to do today to prep for dh's arrival! Oh and apparently we are going to get hammered by Sandy on Mon/tues...better start to prep for that!

Babywhisperer, are you ready for Sandy???? How are your symptoms???

Coy, when will people learn not to mess with a pg lady or a new mama??? Do they not know that we will rip their heads off if they look at us cross eyed??? lol:haha:

coy you could well be anemic if lost a bit of blood which will make you light headed and out of breath i had to have a blood transfusion after mikey, good that you getting Aeryn into a routine.

afm 9dpo and thought had a faint line but think its indentation in dip stick tryed to take a pic but not clear

Ahhh Nov 26th is my bday!!! Sorry your doggie is sick and for all the frustration with the meds and insurance. I wish there wasn't so much red tape with insurance co's. Is that flu finally gone??

I hope dd is ok! And yes we have to prep for Frankenstorm too! I have to say, your symptoms are classic for a bfp!!!! When are you testing??

Afm, my temp 2 days ago was 98.61, the 98.41, but this morning I slept in an hr and a half later and my temp was 98.86 and I woke up stuffy...don't get excited, I had a stressful week and there is a cold going around. I have been tired all week and going to bed early, but I sometimes get really tired a week before AF. BBs are not sore. Cm has gone from creamy wet, to creamy but paper mache like. The last few cycles it has done this, and then gone to sticky then dry then af. I hope countdowntopregnancy is right and FF is wrong. Countdown has me ovu on cd 12 or 13 which would be great since we bd cd 6,7,10,11,12,13...but if I ovu on cd 11, we didn't time it right or get enough bd in. I will say that after 3 months of charting and opks, I have never gotten a ovu date from FF that was the same as +opk...so hoping FF is off by a day or 2...which means I am either 7, 8 or 9 dpo....so af could start with spotting on Halloween and be full flow Nov, or start spotting Nov 2.

So being that it's only our 3rd cycle trying and it's for our first, I'm not encouraged. I would love to get our bfp before the holidays since I am such a sap for that time of year, but I am doubtful. I haven't been strict with supplements, like I only took Mucinex once a day and it was a 12hr pill. It dehydrated me really bad. We used preseed but not a lot of it, I took EPO for a week, but I am good with the pre natals. Oh and the wine...I've had some wine. Maybe I'm not helping my chances enough.

Is my chart crazy looking? We bd cd 6,7,10,11,12,13 and FF has it as good timing, and CTP has it as very high. Oh limbo...I seem to live my life in 2 week intervals.

Hi ladies,

OK, so I have been MIA for a couple of days. My chart said AF was due to arrive today and guess what? She did!!!! Well, at least something in me works ok eh?

I had my ultrasound this morning, the sonographer said my overies were very large, but this is probably due to where I am in my cycle. My right ovary had the dominant follicle and the left one had a very large one on it too, so would have popped if the one on the right hadn't done, so it looks like both are working. She told me that if she counts more than 12 cycst, that it would more than likely be PCOS. She said that she thinks this is what I have, although it was quite hard to tell, but she didn't see any fibroids, she says my womb is fine, which is all good.

As I had my blood test on Monday, the results for that will be with the docs by now and it'll take a couple of days for them to get the scan info sent over, so I'll call on Wednesday or Thursday to see if I can get to see the doc. I really hope they do agree that its PCOS. I am going to ask them for Metformin I think.

Coy, Aeryn is gorgeous, can't wait to see some more pics. I can't believe hospital staff can be so incompetent sometimes, they need shaking, some of them. How can they lose someones paperwork and if they can be that sloppy with paperwork, isn't it worrying what else they cut corners on? I hope the clip was removed ok and that you got the tests done that you needed to.

Babydust, babywhisperer and Alin, I can't wait to see some bfps, which ones going to get theirs first????

Hey Everyone!! :hi:

Zoe is 10 today! I posted a picture of her when she was just a few months old, such a cutie pie! Even in her studded red collar :haha:

She just has this little lump on her shoulder blade that she's had for years, but is a little suspect. So we are going to have that removed, she'll get a teeth cleaning and a really good nail clipping. So really none of it is serious, I just want to get it done, and get her recovering.

As for me, I want to get the culpocsopy done ASAP because I don't want the invasion up there to mess with my cycle. I also want to know if we are dealing with anything serious, having suspect lesions in your cervix is not good! I have heard that they often get 'shed' during birth so if all else fails maybe my miracle pregnancy will fix it all!

As for the OPK debate between BabyDust and BabyWhisperer. Here is what I have to say on them. I love the CBE ones that have the happy face, yes they are expensive but they work. They will tell you when you are surging, and if you take them every day during the week you think you are going to ovulate, and continue to take them. Oh and I have heard that it is best to take them in the early afternoon. You will see that your body will likely ovulate 12-36 hours after the first smiley face. When I was using them, I would test in the morning and afternoon and would test until it was gone. I noticed that sometimes I'd get a negative in the morning but a positive in the afternoon, so make sure you test in the afternoon! Then I would use my temp as a guide as to when I actually O'd. The day after I ovulated my temps would begin to rise. This rise is from the progesterone that is being released by the corpus luteum, so this should rise, you might see a 3rd rise in temperature after the embryo implants, this is what they call a triphasic chart. The higher temps are due to the implantation and the additional increase in progesterone needed to sustain the pregnancy. Finally you add in the CM, and the progression of your CM will follow the same pattern, it will start out watery for a few days, this is your lead up to your ultimate fertile window, I found that my EWCM came the same day or the day before I got my first smiley on OPK. So when you first see that it is time to jump your man! The EWCM will last until you ovulate. So that is why the 3 CM, OPK and temps are helpful to determine when you are ovulating.

My advice to you is to start getting busy in the coming months about 1 week before you think you will ovulate, go for every other day, then step it up once you either see the EWCM or the OPK gives you a smiley face, then do it daily until FF says you ovulated. That way you are doubly sure to get enough BD'ing in!

I hope that you won't need my advice and that you are already with child!

happy 10th Birthday Zoe, btw Ali, my cats are very important to me too, I think of them like my babies! Hope you're getting over your flu now and that you're prepared for any storm on its way.

I do agree fully with what you have said above, I use the CBE digi tests, but I also use a cheaper one too. Once I see a faint line on the cheapie, I use the digi. I always test in the afternoon / evening and try to leave it so I haven't been to the loo for about 3 hours, which for me is difficult as I have a weak bladder. A trait seemingly passed on from my Mum.

I was using the smiley CB tests and testing when I got home from work. The first smiley on cd10 had a test line a little more faint than the ref line. The second smiley on cd11 the test line and ref line were equal. I got neg tests on cd9 and cd 12. So I think I didn't ovu on cd11 since that was my strongest test line. Does that sound right?

Happy Bday to Zoe!!

Hey Babywhisperer, the smileys Ali mentions are Clearblue Digital tests, they don't have lines, they just show smiley faces when its positive.

The lines inside these tests are apparently not testing for the same things as the other ones that have lines on, so if you have a smiley face, it doesn't mean you will get 2 lines. Sometimes you will get 2 lines and no smiley too because they are recognising different hormones. Hope that makes sense.

I think the lines do correspond with the smileys. When I got a - on cd9, there was such a faint test line. The 2 day I got smileys the test lines were almost as dark and then equal to the ref line on cd 10 then 11. On cd 12 when I got no smiley the test line had faded a lot from the previous day...so I think they do correspond. Here is the test I get
