What are your favourite things?

Oooh loads have already been said but I like...

Stepping off the plane into the heat of a foreign country.

A good loud storm at the end of a hot sticky day.

Crisp icy autumn mornings.

New bed sheets that dried outside.

Going clothes shopping and finding something that suits me and makes me look good.

Jumping into a cold river or sea on a hot day.

I love a feel good romantic movie or book, get lost in them.

Can I say sex with my oh lol. After 13.5 years its still on my favourites list haha!

Apart from DH & my adorable DD I love:
Summer holidays, had a great one in May, playing in the pool with DD, long walks on the beach, dinners out every evening, no cooking or cleaning for a week - heaven!!
Long walks usually with DD chatting away to me
Yankee candles
Choc brownies heated with vanilla ice-cream
Indian food
Freshly cleaned sheets
Girls nights out, food, wine & dancing - good for the soul!!
Family meals, helping Mam in the kitchen & having the laughs with Dad
Christmas, even more since I had DD, cant wait to see her face this year when she see her presents, she didn't quite get it last year!

I have another favorite!

When someone else cooks dinner! Hubby and some friends are gonna make homemade gyro meat and sauce for tonight. So excited! We usually hang out and chat, or play a card game after, so it's the kind of small social situation that I usually enjoy.

Off the top of my head...

The smell of rain

Old books - the smell, the sense of history. I especially love ones with inscriptions in them, e.g. Merry Christmas 1935. I am known to get very excited about an old inscription.

Making jam

Really cold, crisp autumn days

Christmas

Ballroom dancing - I used to go to classes before I had my son and haven't managed to go back since. I really miss it.

1940s tea dresses

Pyjamas - I have about 20 pairs :haha:
Winter - I love winter fashion, cold weather, warm boots, fluffy slippers, extra blankets, snow, love it all!
The end months of the year - September, October, November and December
Christmas - best thing ever
Driving in my car with the music on

My most favourite thing has to be Christmas!! After that I guess.. Snow especially when it's nice & fresh & crunchy under your feet :D, books, music & the sound of rain especially when laying in bed, its so relaxing! Oh & watching thunderstorms :) xx

I thought of another one of my favourite things, boiling hot baths

Another one here who counts down to Christmas, love it!

Autumn days, love the chill, crisp air.

Gardening, I love seeing the flowers I've planted start to bloom. Showing my age now :)

Looking through old family photos, especially ones of my beautiful dainty Grandma and handsome Grandad in his army uniform as sweethearts in the 1940s.

Pampering myself after exercise sessions.

1940s and 1980s music.

Pink Grapefruit G&T, delicious!

Bratwurst! Seriously there is nothing more delicious as this. It has the most incredible taste.

Milkshakes with marshmallows and flying saucers.

Volkswagen Golfs. It took me 10 years to get one of my own.

Homemade pizzas. I make mine with sweet corn and cut up bockwurst.

Other than dh and lo
Reading a good book
Long hot bath
Going for walks in countryside or beach
My pets
Cooking (especially if I don't have to clean up)
Going to museums or places linked to history
Exploring library for new books

And my gosh I sound booring lol

Ooohhh, I love this thread!! I have so many, and so many have already been mentioned!

•Christmas
•freshly washed and dried bedding
•the smell of rain on a hot day
•a really great book
•the squeak of shoes on a basketball court (yes, that's a weird one lol. Good memories!)
•the way a softball/baseball field looks when it has been freshly mowed, and the lines freshly chalked
•football games on a Friday night during cold weather

Went off on a bit of a sports tangent there!

Thinking about these things has made me happy lol!

Apart from my little family, I love -

- going to the gym.
- walking.
- Internet.
- horror films.
- gardening.
- long showers.
- being curled up in bed playing on my phone.

Summer - everyone seems so much more alive in summer, and more colourful too.

Walking - especially going for long walks with my friend and not talking at all.

Books - love books, read several a week.

Water - love just sitting by a lake or river and looking at the water and not doing anything.

Cooking over an open fire - everything tastes so much better cooked over an open fire, even better if I'm cooking fish that I just caught half an hour ago. And pancakes cooked over the fire, lush!

Midnight sun - love it when I go up to Lapland and we end up cooking dinner outside in the middle of the night and its light as day, and then go for a boat ride and fishing trip at 3am. Hardly sleep at all in the summer there but don't get tired for some reason.

I love bonfires, the bigger the better. luckily we have them here often(easter, solstices..)
beach
pools or natural bodies of water.
public transport that works well :)(does here)
train travel(my fav mode of transportation)
train stations, I like the hussle and bustle of them and all the trains(big and pretty stations only)
